The main purpose of this study is to analyze construction of space through the investigation of the cases of school community library through Gangneung-si's life-learning project and the findings from the analysis could be summarized as below. Firstly, most space used for school community library has the size of two classes in school on average and locals use generally space for reference and learning at school community library. Secondly, the construction of space of school community library is categorized into one for book-returning, references, reading, group learning and information, and an audio-visual space is also used for group learning and reading. A space for book-returning has features based on the location of its entrance and a space for reading features stand-up and sitting-on space considering size and usability. And a space for group learning has the feature of space planning that makes it possible for local people to get library programs and seminars and a space for information shows its feature of space planning that uses the wall.

This study examines the factors influencing social capital within a lifelong learning city as discussed in the Youngcheon and Andong City case study. Data was collected from 205 leaners in Andong City and 194 learners in Youngchun City. The data was then analyzed by the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The statistical techniques used for this study were frequency, percentile, 1-test, and regression. The major findings of this study were as follows: To begin with, the learners in LLC were more likely to have positive attitudes toward the construction of a lifelong learning city. Second, the leaners in LLC were more likely to have social capital including norm and network. Furthermore, the learning opportunity had a positive effect in increasing the trust between learners. Learning support and support systems also had influence in increasing the social network between learners. Finally, support systems had a positive effect in improving the norm between learners.

Regardless of area, public libraries should establish its status as the knowledge and information service center, cultural enjoyment and lifelong learning space in close contact with everyday life. To do this, it is necessary to survey the citizen's perception of the public library. In this study, researchers investigated and analyzed the perception of Daegu citizens including the weight and importance of public libraries, library use status and reasons for non-use, reading program participation and reasons for non-participation, and regions that require new library facilities. Based on these results, researchers suggested the measures to strengthen the infrastructure of public library and to increase its use in conjunction with other relevant data, that is, domestic and international researches, related laws, national reading survey, national cultural infrastructure overview, Daegu citizen survey, Daegu city brand perception survey, and the status of public libraries in national and Daegu Metropolitan City.

In most countries, public libraries are knowledge information centers, complex cultural spaces, lifelong learning facilities, and third places for local residents. The social homage spoken on the premise of this identity and socio-cultural role is the knowledge and information agora, cultural infrastructure, living room in the city, and the university of the people. However, if there is a significant gap between public libraries regardless of country or region, it will inevitably lead to information gaps, regional gaps, and cultural inequality and cultural welfare gaps among local residents. This study is regarded as the essence of regional cultural facilities and premised that the regional gap in public libraries is a factor of regional cultural gaps. Based on this premise, the gap between the location quotient, input indicators, and output indicators of public libraries of regional governments in Korea and basic local governments in the Gyeongbuk region was analyzed. And this study derived core elements through correlation and regression analysis of input and output indicators of all public libraries nationwide, developed a management model for each indicator, and suggested a plan to resolve the relative gap for public libraries by city and county in Gyeongbuk.
