  • The aim of this study was to examine the effect of a brisk walking intervention for 8weeks on isokinetic muscular function factor(strength, power, endurance). The following results were found from the current study: First, Isokinetic muscle function(strength, power, endurance) on $60^{\circ}/sec$ in extension and flexion was significant exercise group and interaction in left knee flexion and right knee extension(P<.00l). Secondly, Isokinetic muscle function(strength, power, endurance) on $120^{\circ}/sec$ in extension and flexion was significant exercise group and interaction in left knee flexion and right knee extension(P<.001). Thirdly, Isokinetic muscle function(strength, power, endurance) on $180^{\circ}/sec$ in extension and flexion was significant exercise group and interaction in left knee flexion and right knee extension(P<.001). Considering the above result of the study the brisk walking had more improvement knee flexor and extensor muscular power. Therefore the brisk walking in the study can be proposed as effective plan to prevention hurt from a sarcopenia and to raise quality in life.

  • In this paper we propose a new feature, average power, for speech segments extraction with hidden Markov models, which is based on mel frequencies of speech signals. The average power is compared with the mel frequency cepstral coefficients, MFCC, and the power coefficient. To compare performances of three types of features, speech data are collected for words with explosives which are generally known hard to be detected. Experiments show that the average power is more accurate and efficient than MFCC and the power coefficient for speech segments extraction in environments with various levels of noise.

  • The main purpose of the present study was to find the effect of short term creatine loading on repeated bouts of kicking, plasma creatine phosphokinase and anaerobic power in male taekwondo player from high school. Eighteen male were randomly assigned to two groups. They were tested before and after 6 days of placebo($4{\times}5$ glucose d-1, N=9) or Creatine monohydrate loading(consume 0.3g kg-1, N=9). Only creatine loading group were significantly increased of repeated bouts of kicking, plasma creatine phosphokinase and anaerobic power These results suggest that short creatine loading was effective diet protocol in taekwondo player from male high school.

  • Power Flow Analysis (PFA) is developed for the effective predictions of frequency-averaged vibrational response in medium-to-high frequency ranges. In PFA, the power coefficients of semi-infinite structure and for-field energy density are used to predict the vibrational responses of structures. Generally, at high frequencies, PFA can predict narrow-band frequency-averaged vibrational responses of built-up structures. However, in low- to medium frequency ranges, the dynamic responses obtained by PFA represent broad-band frequency-averaged vibrational energy densities. For the prediction of vibrational response variance in Power Flow Finite Element Method (PFFEM), the variances of input power and joint element matrix describing structural coupling relationship are derived. Finally, for the validity of developed formulation, numerical examples for two co-planer plates are performed and the vibrational response variance of the structure are compared with the results of classical and PFFEM solutions.

  • This study examined the relationship between the happiness, empowerment, and nursing performance of nurses with more than one-year of clinical experience, and the factors affecting the nursing performance. The subjects were 164 nurses who worked in two general hospitals in Incheon and Chungcheong-do, Korea. Data were collected from October to November 2018. The main findings of this study were as follows. The mean scores for happiness, empowerment, and nursing performance were 3.07±0.36, 3.37±0.43, and 3.40±0.44 points. Happiness was positively correlated with empowerment (r=.58, p<.01) and nursing performance (r=.58, p<.01), empowerment was positively correlated with the nursing performance (r=.58, p<.01). The factors influencing the nursing performance were empowerment (β=.65, p<.001), total length of a clinical career (β=.19, p<.001), education level (β=.12, p<.05), and happiness (β=.12, p=.05), showing an explanatory power of 64%. Based on these results, it is necessary to provide sufficient human and physical resources to improve the nursing performance and manage the organizational level to increase the nurses' happiness and empowerment. To improve the work performance of nurses, an empowerment improvement program tailored to the clinical experience and educational level should be developed, and the working environment that can increase the nurse's happiness should be improved.

  • A space averaged $SiH_4/O_2/Ar$ simulator for the high density inductively coupled plasma sources for $SiH_4/O_2/Ar$ discharge is developed. The developed simulator uses space averaged fluid equations for electrons, positive ions, negative ions, neutral species, and radicals in $SiH_4/O_2/Ar$ plasma discharge, and the electron heating model including the anomalous skin effect. Using the developed simulator, the dependency of the density of charged particles, neutral particles, and radicals, the electron temperature, the plasma resistance, and the power absorption coefficient for the RF power and pressure is calculated.

  • This paper presents a transmission power control MAC protocol that allows terminals to vary transmit power level on data frame basis in ad hoc network. Unlike the IEEE 802.11 approach, we do not use the RTS/CTS packets to silence the neighboring nodes. Instead, channel gain and distance information between transmitter and receiver terminal are inserted in the RTS/CTS packets. These informations are used to dynamically bound the transmission power. Simulation results indicate that, compared to the GMAC, the proposed MAC protocol achieves a increase in the average frame delivery ratio and a decrease in the average frame delay.

  • Wind turbulence data is required for engineering calculations of gust speeds, mean and fluctuating loading. Spectral densities are required as input data for methods used in assessing dynamic response. This study is concerned with the estimation of daily instantaneous maximum wind velocity in the meteorological major cities (selected each 6 points) during the yearly 1987-2016.12.1. The purpose of this paper is to present the power spectral densities of the daily instantaneous maximum wind velocity. In the processes of analysis, used observations data obtained at Korea Meteorological Adminstration(KMA), it is assumed as a random processes. From the analysis results, in the paper estimated power spectral densities function(Blunt model) shows a very closed with von Karman and Solari's spectrum models.

  • Recently, excessive installations of APs have caused WLAN interference, and many techniques have been suggested to solve this problem. The AP aggregation technique serves to reduce active APs by moving station connections to a certain AP. Since this technique forcibly moves station connections, the transmission performance of some stations may deteriorate. The AP transmit power control technique may cause station disconnection or deterioration of transmission performance when power is reduced under a certain level. The combination of these two techniques can reduce interference through AP aggregation and narrow the range of interferences further through detailed power adjustment. However, simply combining these techniques may decrease the probability of power adjustment after aggregation and increase station disconnections upon power control. As a result, improvement in performance may be insignificant. Hence, this study suggests a scheme to combine the AP aggregation and the AP transmit power control techniques in OpenFlow-based WLAN to ameliorate the disadvantages of each technique and to reduce interferences efficiently by performing aggregation for the purpose of increasing the probability of adjusting transmission power. Simulations reveal that the average transmission delay of the suggested scheme is reduced by as much as 12.8% compared to the aggregation scheme and by as much as 18.1% compared to the power control scheme. The packet loss rate due to interference is reduced by as much as 24.9% compared to the aggregation scheme and by as much as 46.7% compared to the power control scheme. In addition, the aggregation scheme and the power control scheme decrease the throughput of several stations as a side effect, but our scheme increases the total data throughput without decreasing the throughput of each station.
