Analysis of the usability of ScratchJr and Viscuit for the lower grades in elementary school (초등학교 저학년을 위한 교육용 프로그래밍 언어 스크래치주니어와 비스킷 사용성 분석)

  • Since 2019, the informatics education is being conducted for elementary school 5th, 6th grade students through the curriculum revised 2015. But, informatics education is implemented from the lower grades of elementary school in many countries. The purpose of this study was to suggest the direction in the choice of programming language considering characteristics for lower grades student. In order to achieve the goal, evaluation criteria were developed considering the development characteristics of lower grades and necessary elements of educational programming language. The results of analyzing the usability of the two languages based on the criterion are as follows. First, Viscuit can be used to consider the expressive power of students with lower school age or to learn algorithms without learning about programming concepts. Second, ScratchJr is easy to learn the concept of algorithm and programming. This study is meaningful in that has presented implications considering the developmental state of the students in preparation for rhe programming education.

The Development of Evaluation Tools for Web Electronic Textbooks (웹 전자교과서 평가 도구 개발)

  • As the question patterns have been created in the point of a programer's view, the research for evaluating the internet learning material has been made with the primary consideration to the reliability of information and the plan of interface. Then, the convenience and usability of learners has not been regarded most. As this research is for realizing the recent problem and solving it, this research was made an effort to create the evaluation method for using it practically by teachers and students. In this research, when people design the class with using the Internet and students surf on the Internet for searching for learning materials, 80 items of evaluation standards for E-textbook on Web were prepared. Then, the result of this research will be used to evaluate E-textbooks being made indefinitely later. And Electronic textbook evaluated with the 80 items will be offered meaningful to students and teachers and help to increase the students' learning ability.

  • 신종 및 재출현 전염병이 지속적으로 유행하고 해외 전염병의 국내유입가능성이 증대됨에 따라 국립검역소의 검역관리 사업의 효율성 평가는 매우 중요하다. 연구는 평가 구성요소 사이의 상대적 중요도, 즉 가중치(weight) 부여에 있어서 과학적 타당성을 인정받고 있는 계층분석절차(Analytical Hierarchy Process; AHP) 기법에 의한 이원비교방법을 사용하여 설정하였다. AHP기법은 복잡한 다기준 의사결정문제(multi-criteria decision making problem)를 계층화하여 단순화 체계화시킴으로써 그 영향도를 계량화하는데 탁월한 기법이라는 평가를 받고 있다. 실제 측정에 있어서는 본 모형을 이용하여 얻어졌다. 대영역(기관평가영역, 서비스 및 프로그램평가 영역), 중영역(투입, 과정, 결과, 검역업무, 검사업무, 위생관리업무, 병원체조사감시업무, 전염병예방홍보 교육업무)으로 구분하여 최종적으로 평가지표로 선정된 지표는 실제 국립검역소 사업에 적용하였으며, 이에 대한 최소한의 평가지표를 최종 선정하여 향후 국립검역소사업 평가체계를 보다 체계화 하였다.

  • As a result of the compulsory of information system audit and a rise in audit demand, the quality improvement of information system audit is being emphasized. However, since the current information system audit heavily depends on the auditor's experience, skill, and subjective judgments, it incurs distrust in the objectivity and reliability of audit results from audit interest person. Furthermore, so far research activities aimed at securing the objectivity and reliability of audits have not been adequately carried out. Therefore, this paper presents a quantitative method for information system audit evaluation in order to contribute to the quality improvement of overall information system audit through securing compliance, objectivity, and reliability of information system audit. The quantitative method is largely composed of two sectors, such as evaluation areas and items, scores calculation for evaluation items, and can generally apply the information system audit standard to information system audit evaluation.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and demonstrate a framework for evaluating the maturity of big data for effective data strategy establishment and efficient investment of companies. By supplementing the shortcomings of the evaluation developed so far, a framework was developed to evaluate the maturity of a company's big data in an integrated process. As a result, four evaluation areas of 'Vision and Strategy', 'Management', 'Analysis' and 'Utilization', assessment items for each area, detailed content, and criteria for each stage were derived. This was verified through a survey of entrepreneurs, and the maturity level of big data of domestic companies was confirmed. As a future research direction, it is proposed to develop detailed assessment factors according to the characteristics of each industry, to develop a data utilization framework according to the assessment results, and to improve validity and reliability through adjustment of verification targets.

Preservice teachers' evaluation of artificial intelligence -based math support system: Focusing on TocToc-Math (예비교사의 인공지능 지원시스템에 대한 평가: 똑똑! 수학탐험대를 중심으로)

  • With the advancement of digital technology, a variety of digital materials are being utilized in education. For their appropriate use of digital resources, teachers need to be able to evaluate the quality of digital resource and determine the suitability for teaching. This study explored how preservice teachers evaluate TocToc-Math, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based math support system. Based on an evaluation framework developed through prior research, preservice teachers evaluated TocToc-Math with evidence-based criteria, including content quality, pedagogy, technology use, and mathematics curriculum alignment. The findings shows that preservice teachers positively evaluated TocToc-Math overall. The evaluation tendencies of preservice teachers were classified into three groups, and the specific characteristics of each factor differed depending on the group. Based on the research results, we suggest implications for improving preservice teachers' evaluation abilities regarding the use of digital technology and AI in mathematics education.

The Effects of Decision-Making Activities about Bioethical Issues on Students' Rational Decision-Making Ability in High School Biology (생물 윤리 의사결정 활동이 고등학생들의 합리적인 의사결정능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of decision-making activities in lesson on improving decision-making ability to meet bioethical issues in everyday situation. Worksheet for decision-making was consisted of six steps: Identification of problem, searching relevant information, generation of alternatives, identification of values for selection criteria, evaluation of alternatives, review of consequence. The results of this study showed that the scores of decision-making were increased by the activities of worksheets. The scores of identification of problem, generation of alternatives, and evaluation of alternatives were increased meaningfully. However, the scores of searching relevant information, identification of values for selection criteria, and review of consequence were not increased. It seems that all steps of decision-making ability could not improve by short-term learning. Low level performance was appeared on the step of searching relevant information and evaluation of alternatives. This result indicated that students could not apply the biological knowledge to decision-making in the face of bioethical issues. In conclusion, the learning experience of decision-making is essential to foster rational decision-making ability. The activity of decision-making should be included in science class and curriculum.

Propensity Adjustment Weighting of the Internet Survey by Volunteer Panel (자원자 패널에 의한 인터넷 조사의 성향조정 가중화)

  • This paper reports the results of the 2009 Internet volunteer panel version of the social survey conducted by Statistics Korea (Korea National Statistical Office). Authors identify socio-psychological characteristics of Internet survey volunteers and present quantitative evaluation of the propensity adjustment weighting method intended to remove Internet sample bias. The nine criteria used for propensity adjustment were regions, urban/rural, gender, age, education, consumer satisfaction, views on income distribution, newspaper access and Internet news access. Propensity adjustment weighting based on the logit model and rim weights were applied to the online survey of 2,903 respondents using the face-to-face area sample data of 37,049 respondents as reference. A total of 106 items were used for evaluating the propensity adjustment weighting methods. The results showed that in 80% of survey items the propensity adjustment weighting yielded better estimates compared to simple demographic weighting. This suggests that Internet surveys by volunteer panels are useful for conducting the general social study in Korea. The reference survey data for this study contains several items on social-psychological behaviors and attitudes, is large in size and obtained by probability sampling. Thus it may be utilized in propensity adjustment of other Internet surveys.

Analysis of Socio-Scientific Issues(SSI) Programs in Korea (과학 관련 사회적 쟁점(Socio-Scientific Issues, SSI)을 활용한 국내 프로그램 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analysis total number of 123 SSI programs by SSI criteria. The criteria was consisted of subject, school level, starting point, scientific evidence, social content, use of scientific knowledge, level of conflict of interest, and evaluation and reflection. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, elementary school programs were the most and middle school programs were relatively few. Second, starting point was mainly in the actual situation, the fiction and nonfiction situation, and the situation including the controversy and conflict was less than 10%. Third, it was based on scientific evidence but mainly influenced by individual values and perceptions. Fourth, social contents were developed mainly in ethics/morality/value, political/social life/economy, environment contents. Fifth, the use of scientific knowledge mainly consisted of scientific decision making, scientific critical thinking, and information search. However, science inquiry, risk assessment, and cost effectiveness were less than 10%. Scientific inquiry is the essential factor of science education, and one of core competencies of national science curriculum. SSI program should be able to experience various kinds of conflicts, and to evaluate and reflect through reflection.

  • The purpose of this study is to help each university for valid performance evaluation and quality control of the Industry-University Cooperation Concentration Professor(IUCCP) through the development of the performance evaluation model of industry-university cooperation concentration professor. To achieve this purpose, researchers were collected and analysis data about the management regulations of IUCCP of 57 university include 51 LINC selected by Ministry of Education and Science-Technology in 2012. Through this process, define the concept of IUCCP and clear a qualification criterion, types and role the each types of IUCCP, and developed the model on performance evaluation of industry-university cooperation concentration professor constructed 4 dimensions consists with evaluation area, evaluation element, evaluation indices, and scoring unit.
