Academic libraries need to increase library user and use rates to strengthen the competitiveness. It can be a way that academic libraries introduce and implement outreach service. The purpose of this study is to present the outreach service plan that is suitable for being implemented at academic libraries in Korea. This paper explored the significance of library outreach, the characteristic of academic library's outreach activities and related studies. After this study examined the cases of outreach service at foreign and Korean academic libraries, outreach service programs for user groups such as multicultural students, transfer students, graduate students, boarding students, professors, and lecturers and teaching assistants, and six steps of outreach activities were proposed.

불투명한 경제정세의 와중에서도 전기에너지를 지탱하는 근간이 되는 파워 일렉트로닉스 분야는 확실히 그 기술개발을 향상시켜 오고 있다. 특히 파워디바이스는, 지구환경과 생활환경을 보다 쾌적하게 하기 위하여 인버터 장치 등의 각종 전력절약기기와 풍력$\cdot$태양광$\cdot$연료전지 등 클린에너지의 전력제어장치에 없어서는 안되는 반도체디바이스로 성장했다. 파워디바이스 중에서도 IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor)의 기술혁신은 요 20년 사이에 비약적인 성과를 거두었다. 1980년대에 제품화된 IGBT는, 반도체메모리의 초미세가공기술을 도입하면서 $5{\mu}m$에서 서브미크론의 디자인툴로 발전하여, 2000년대에 들어 칩의 전류밀도는 약 2배, 포화전압은 약 $65\%$까지 개량되었다. 이와 같은 IGBT의 변천은, 전력손실을 대폭적으로 저감시켜 에너지절약기기의 전력변환효율 향상에 공헌하고 있다. 파워디바이스의 기술진보에서 또 한 가지 잊지 말아야 할 것은 주변회로의 집적화(集積化)에 의한 고성능$\cdot$고기능화이다. 최근의 인버터용 파워디바이스로 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 파워모듈은, IGBT등의 파워칩과 그 주변회로와의 컬래버레이션에 의한 제품이다. 다시 말하면 구동회로, 전류$\cdot$전압$\cdot$온도센서 및 그것들의 보호회로가 IC(집적회로)에 편입되어 고기능$\cdot$소형화를 촉진시키고 있다. 구동회로는 LVIC (저전압집적회로)에서 HVIC(고전압집적회로)로 발전하여 전류$\cdot$온도 등의 각종 센서도 동일 칩에 설계할 수 있게 되었다. 또 센싱이나 보호기능뿐만이 아니라 출력전류의 제어를 위한 연산기능과 di/dt의 제어기능이 내장되도록 되어 있어 보다. 고성능의 인텔리전트 파워모듈(IPM)이라고 불리우는 새로운 개념의 파워디바이스가 실현되었다. 또한 패키지 기술도 내부배선 인덕턴스의 저감과 트랜스퍼 몰드패키지의 개발로, 소형화뿐만이 아니라 파워칩의 성능$\cdot$기능을 충분히 발휘할 수 있도록 개발이 적극적으로 추진되고 있다.

It is often said that collections of public library are too poor to meet user demands in terms of quantity as well as quality. It is also criticized that this situation is related to the lack of material budget and non-systematic purchasing process. Situated in such context, this study attempted to investigate current policies and regulations that control the material budget allocation and purchasing process in public libraries, because book purchasing process in public libraries is especially influenced by policies and regulations both in national and regional levels. Policies and regulations affecting material budget allocation and purchasing process were analyzed into 4 elements, namely about (1) financial foundation supporting collection development and material budget allocation, (2) the formation of material budget and discount rates, (3) prescribing characteristics of monographs public libraries purchase, and (4) acquisition process.

Busan port has played a part as the main trade gateway in Korea for several decades. However, due to the rapid integration of China into the global economy and the grand changes in global trade structures, the trade gateway system in Korea and the status of Busan port have been transformed. Busan port's role as a trade gateway toward Japan and U.S. has increased during last two decades but, in cases of China, its importance has relatively decreased. Moreover, Busan port's competitiveness has been undermined in the most part of commodity trade. These phenomena reflect the high competition among trade ports which tend to increase the effectiveness of supply chains. Based on the geographical research tradition which has understood a port as a nexus between hinterland and foreland, this study focuses the changes in characteristics of trade freights and the status as a gateway of Busan port. This approach will contribute to the understandings of dynamics in the comtemporary international logistics.

In foreign countries the national forests began to emerge when the modern body politic came into being and looked upon forests as an indispensible source of national wealth to the effect that eachnation virtually nationalized the forests to promote the public interest such as erosion prevention and water source stability. Most of the forests that are now in national ownership used to be the estates of kings and feudal lords in the Middle Ages. In Korea in national forests come into being toward the end of Yi-dynasty as an outcome of the Japanese colonial policy under which, with the purpose of exploiting the forest resources, the dense forests of large area were systematically transferred into national property to be controlled by establishing the echelon of the national forest stations. The main task of these stations was to fell lumber to no limits.

This study is conducted to find ways to develop design and research activities on personal belongings for the aged generation and aims to promote the industry and improve welfare of the elderly population by enhancing their quality of lives. Researches on policy papers, journals and published books show high growth potentials for elderly related industries due to rapid aging, retirement of baby boomer population and quality-oriented life styles. Regulations and standard, however, are lacking and, with shortage of R & D investment, human resources have not been secured in this industry. This is a niche market that has definite consumers. Therefore, it has been confirmed that when design and research efforts are made in this field, it can contribute to the benefit of aged generation as well as the development of the national economy.

In this study, I analyzed determinant factors of mutual fund return. The samples was distributed into three types according to the ratio of included stocks in funds. The proxies of mutual funds were set up three ways(returns of fund). As a result of the analysis, I found that growth positively affect to fund return, abnormal return and adjusted abnormal return in all samples. While, according to three types of sample, expected and unexpected fund cash flows had differently effect on fund return. Inferentially, it seemed that the ratio of included stocks in fund was the cause of that. But price pressure hypothesis are not supported. In conclusion, it was not found the possibility of stock market disturbance in this analysis.

The expansion of volatility in Korean Stock Market made it more difficult for the individual to invest directly and increased the weight of indirect investment through a fund. The purpose of this study is to construct the EIF(enhanced index fund) model achieves an excessive return among several types of fund. For this purpose, this paper propose portfolio optimization model to manage an index fund by using GA(genetic algorithm), and apply the trading amount and the closing price of standard index to earn an excessive return add to index fund return. The result of the empirical analysis of this study suggested that the proposed model is well represented the trend of KOSPI 200 and the new investment strategies using this can make higher returns than Buy-and-Hold strategy by an index fund, if an appropriate number of stocks included.

The retailing industry in Korea has developed with new store formats: supermarket, convenient store, discount Store, and super-super market. Also, there are confrontation and conflict between them, becoming a national issue. This study reviews the existing literatures in Korean geography of retailing and consumption and attempts to set forth the future research themes and topics. The review shows that the existing literatures disproportionately focus on location, diffusion, and market area of the new store formats. The future research themes and topics includes the marketplace combined with recreation, donation, environment-friendliness, or social welfare; marketplace as a part of global production and distribution system; expansion of marketplace into homes which are longstanding private space; spatial structure of retailing at various geographical scale.

This paper explores changing concept of city in the context of globalization with innovation city and examines the characteristics of innovation city along with regional and national competitiveness. It is agreed that construction of innovation city by relocation of public institutions for balanced development of the country has valid logic. However, there are weak possibilities of innovation within the innovation city. Further more it is not a proper solution for the level up of national and regional competitiveness through this policy. The main logic is that physical relocation of institutions do not guarantee innovation of region through integration into globalization network resulting from the scale difference between nation and globe. Rather this paper suggests that regional innovation policy should performed in accordance with regional conditions and for the better competitiveness of nation and region, decentralization of power is needed. Then a region could have connection with global pipeline based on endogenous development power.
