Fuzzy modeling is generally using the given data and the fuzzy rules are established by the input variables and the space division by selecting the input variable and dividing the input space for each input variables. The premise part of the fuzzy rule is presented by selection of the input variables, the number of space division and membership functions and in this paper the consequent part of the fuzzy rule is identified by polynomial functions in the form of linear inference and modified quadratic. Parameter identification in the premise part devides input space Min-Max method using the minimum and maximum values of input data set and C-Means clustering algorithm forming input data into the hard clusters. The identification of the consequence parameters, namely polynomial coefficients, of each rule are carried out by the standard least square method. In this paper, membership function of the premise part is dividing input space by using trapezoid-type membership function and by using gas furnace process which is widely used in nonlinear process we evaluate the performance.

We propose a moving object extraction and tracking method for improvement of animal identification and tracking technology. First, we propose a method of merging separated moving objects into a moving object by using FCM (Fuzzy C-Means) clustering algorithm to solve the problem of moving object loss caused by moving object extraction process. In addition, we propose a method of extracting data from a moving object and a method of counting moving objects to determine the number of clusters in order to satisfy the conditions for performing FCM clustering algorithm. Then, we propose a method to continuously track merged moving objects. In the proposed method, color histograms are extracted from feature information of each moving object, and the histograms are continuously accumulated so as not to react sensitively to noise or changes, and the average is obtained and stored. Thereafter, when a plurality of moving objects are overlapped and separated, the stored color histogram is compared with each other to correctly recognize each moving object. Finally, we demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of the proposed algorithms through some experiments.

Image segmentation is the critical first step in image information extraction for computer vision systems. Clustering methods have been used extensively in color image segmentation. Most analytic fuzzy clustering approaches are divided from the fuzzy c-means(FCM) algorithm. The FCM algorithm uses fie probabilistic constraint that the memberships of a data point across classes sum to 1. However, the memberships resulting from the FCM do not always correspond to the intuitive concept of degree of belonging or compatibility. Moreover, the FCM algorithm has considerable trouble under noisy environments in the feature space. Recently, a possibilistic approach to clustering(PCM) for solving above problems was proposed. In this paper, we used the PCM for color image segmentation. This approach differs from existing fuzzy clustering methods for color image segmentation in that the resulting partition of the data can be interpreted as a possibilistic partition. So, the problems in the FCM can be solved by the PCM. But, the clustering results by the PCM are not smoothly bounded, and they often have holes. The region growing was used as a postprocessing after smoothing the noise points in the pixel seeds. In our experiments, we illustrate that the PCM us reasonable than the FCM in noisy environments.

Color images are often corrupted by the noise due to noisy sensors or channel transmission errors. Some filters such as vector media and vector $\alpha$-trimmed mean filter have bee used for color noise removal. In this paper, We propose the fuzzy cluster filters based on the possibilistic c-means clustering, because the possibilistic c-means clustering can get robust memberships in noisy environments. Also, we propose weighted vector $\alpha$-trimmed mean filter to improve the conventional vector $\alpha$-trimmed mean filter. In this filter, the central data are more weighted than the outlying data. In this paper, we implemented the color noise generator to evaluate the performance of the proposed filters in the color noise environments. The NCD measure and visual measure by human observer are used for evaluation the performance of the proposed filters. In the experiment, proposed fuzzy cluster filters in the sense of NCD measure gave the best performance over conventional filters in the mixed noise. Simulation results showed that proposed weighted vector $\alpha$-trimmed mean filters better than the conventional vector $\alpha$-trimmed mean filter in any kinds of noise.

In this study, we introduce a identification methodology for FCM-based fuzzy model. The two underlying design mechanisms of such networks involve Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO). The proposed algorithm is based on FCM clustering method for efficient processing of data and the optimization of model was carried out using PSO. The premise part of fuzzy rules does not construct as any fixed membership functions such as triangular, gaussian, ellipsoidal because we build up the premise part of fuzzy rules using FCM. As a result, the proposed model can lead to the compact architecture of network. In this study, as the consequence part of fuzzy rules, we are able to use four types of polynomials such as simplified, linear, quadratic, modified quadratic. In addition, a Weighted Least Square Estimation to estimate the coefficients of polynomials, which are the consequent parts of fuzzy model, can decouple each fuzzy rule from the other fuzzy rules. Therefore, a local learning capability and an interpretability of the proposed fuzzy model are improved. Also, the parameters of the proposed fuzzy model such as a fuzzification coefficient of FCM clustering, the number of clusters of FCM clustering, and the polynomial type of the consequent part of fuzzy rules are adjusted using PSO. The proposed model is illustrated with the use of Automobile Miles per Gallon(MPG) and Boston housing called Machine Learning dataset. A comparative analysis reveals that the proposed FCM-based fuzzy model exhibits higher accuracy and superb predictive capability in comparison to some previous models available in the literature.
As the ubiquitous technology has penetrated into almost every aspect of modern life, the research of the security technology to solve the weakness of security in the ubiquitous environment is received much attention. Because, however, today's security systems are usually based on the fixed rules, many security systems can not handle diverse situations in the ubiquitous environment appropriately. Although many existing researches on context aware security service are based on ACL (Access Control List) or RBAC (Role Based Access Control), they have an overhead in the management of security policy and can not manipulate unexpected situations. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a context-aware security service providing multiple authentications and authorization from a security level which is decided dynamically in a context-aware environment using FCM (Fuzzy C-Means) clustering algorithm and Fuzzy Decision Tree. We show proposed model can solve typical conflict problems of RBAC system due to the fixed rules and improve overhead problem in the security policy management. We expect to apply the proposed model to the various applications using contextual information of the user such as healthcare system, rescue systems, and so on.

Canine cataract is developed with aging and can cause the blindness or surgical treatment if not treated timely. In this paper, we propose a method for extracting cataract suspicious areas automatically with FCM(Fuzzy C_Means) algorithm to overcome the weakness of previously attempted ART2 based method. The proposed method applies the fuzzy stretching technique and the Max-Min based average binarization technique to the dog eye images photographed by simple devices such as mobile phones. After applying the FCM algorithm in quantization, we apply the brightness average binarization method in the quantized region. The two binarization images - Max-Min basis and brightness average binarization - are ANDed, and small noises are removed to extract the final cataract suspicious areas. In the experiment with 45 dog eye images with canine cataract, the proposed method shows better performance in correct extraction rate than the ART2 based method.

In this paper, we proposed tracking detection methodology using information granulation-based fuzzy radial basis function neural networks (IG-FRBFNN). According to IEC 60112, tracking device is manufactured and utilized for experiment. We consider 12 features that can be used to decide whether tracking phenomenon happened or not. These features are considered by signal processing methods such as filtering, Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) and Wavelet. Such some effective features are used as the inputs of the IG-FRBFNN, the tracking phenomenon is confirmed by using the IG-FRBFNN. The learning of the premise and the consequent part of rules in the IG-FRBFNN is carried out by Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm and weighted least squares method (WLSE), respectively. Also, Hierarchical Fair Competition-based Parallel Genetic Algorithm (HFC-PGA) is exploited to optimize the IG-FRBFNN. Effective features to be selected and the number of fuzzy rules, the order of polynomial of fuzzy rules, the fuzzification coefficient used in FCM are optimized by the HFC-PGA. Tracking inference engine is implemented by using the LabVIEW and loaded into embedded system. We show the superb performance and feasibility of the tracking detection system through some experiments.
Recently, many suggestions have been made in image segmentation methods for extracting human organs or disease affected area from huge amounts of medical image datasets. However, images from some areas, such as brain, which have multiple structures with ambiruous structural borders, have limitations in their structural segmentation. To address this problem, clustering technique which classifies voxels into finite number of clusters is often employed. This, however, has its drawback, the influence from noise, which is caused from voxel by voxel operations. Therefore, applying image enhancing method to minimize the influence from noise and to make clearer image borders would allow more robust structural segmentation. This research proposes an efficient structural segmentation method by filtering based clustering to extract detail structures such as white matter, gray matter and cerebrospinal fluid from brain MR. First, coherence enhancing diffusion filtering is adopted to make clearer borders between structures and to reduce the noises in them. To the enhanced images from this process, fuzzy c-means clustering method was applied, conducting structural segmentation by assigning corresponding cluster index to the structure containing each voxel. The suggested structural segmentation method, in comparison with existing ones with clustering using Gaussian or general anisotropic diffusion filtering, showed enhanced accuracy which was determined by how much it agreed with the manual segmentation results. Moreover, by suggesting fine segmentation method on the border area with reproducible results and minimized manual task, it provides efficient diagnostic support for morphological abnormalities in brain.
