The Effects of Sports Team Performance and Social Media Operations on Fan Engagement: The Moderating Role of Fan Tokens (스포츠 구단의 경기 성적 및 소셜미디어 운영이 팬덤의 인게이지먼트에 미치는 영향: 팬 토큰의 조절 효과를 중심으로)

  • This study empirically analyzes the effect of a sports club's performance and social media operations on online information search volume, reflecting fan engagement. Additionally, it confirms that such effect can vary depending on the issuance of sports fan tokens. The analysis of the data resulted in the support of all four hypotheses presented in this study. The team's goal differentials during the games exhibited a significant and positive effect on the online information search volume by fans. Furthermore, the quantity of a team's social media posts also showed a significant and positive effect on the online information search volume. The aforementioned effects of the team's game-related performance and social media activity on the online information search volume appeared to be strengthened when the sports fan tokens of the team were issued. This study conducts an empirical analysis of fan engagement in sports clubs and delves into the marketing dimensions of sports fan tokens. By doing so, it broadens the research scope within sports marketing and offers practical insights for the development of marketing strategies by sports clubs.

  • This study aims to empirically measure K-pop fans' content and the extent of online activities. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers identify the statistically significant online activities that determine the intensity of fan attachment toward K-pop artists. Further, the research confirms the relative importance of various meaningful online activities. Consequently, we can develop the K-pop Online Activity Index (KOAI) model and apply it to this index model empirically for each respondent. We found that the model consists of five online activities of K-pop fans: whether joining the fan club or not, whether paying per view V live+ or not, whether watching VODs associated with artists or not, the degree of fan club writing, the degree of watching a lot on YouTube to improve the value of my artists. This study has practical significance in that it allows K-pop marketers to improve their marketing performance by providing content that will enable them to more efficiently and effectively allocate marketing resources to various online activities to get fan responses. It allows accumulating academic knowledge to understand the behavior in the field of online behavior for K-pop fans.

  • 최근의 인터넷환경하에서 고객들과의 소통을 통한 관계의 이해와 관리 필요성이 증가하면서 고객관계관리(Customer Relationship Management, CRM)가 중요한 기능으로 고려되고 있다. CRM은 인터넷의 발달과 함께 e-CRM으로 발전되었으며, 최근 소셜 네트워크 서비스(Social Network Service, SNS)가 활성화되면서 s-CRM으로 변화하고 있다. SNS 는 자기를 표현하는 프로필과 사용자 간의 연결을 통한 소통으로 구성되어 있으며, 사용자간의 의견교환을 통한 자발적인 홍보와 노출뿐만 아니라 고객과 기업의 직접적인 커뮤니케이션 창구로서 CRM 마케팅을 펼치기에 적합하다. 본 연구는 SNS 중 현재 가장 많은 회원을 보유한 페이스북 팬페이지에서 e 쿠폰 발행을 매개로 소셜 네트워크 이용자들을 대상으로 충성 고객을 확보하기 위한 요인들을 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과는 페이스북 기업 팬페이지의 좋아요, e 쿠폰 발행, e 쿠폰 사용내역에서의 각 요인들의 영향을 분석하였다.

Effect of Female Fans' Sport Consumption Motivation on Intention to Re-attend and Word of Mouth Intention According to Level of Team Identification (팀동일시 수준에 따른 여성 스포츠팬의 동기요인이 재관람의도 및 구전의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The current study sought to acknowledge the female sport fan as a sport marketing segment. In order to do so, female sport consumption motivation was identified and among motivation factors, factors effecting re-attend intention and word of mouth intention according to level of team identification was identified. In order to accomplish the purpose a focus group interview was conducted concerning female sport fans, and a survey took place in Korean Pro-sport event collecting 300 data. Among 300 data 248 data were used for the analysis. Using Lisrel 8.7 and SPSS 15.0 correlation analysis, descriptive analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis was conducted. The results of study are as follows, First, 9 female sport consumption motivation was identified and among these factors, skill, achievement, drama, and escape had a positive effect on re-attend intension. Second, among 9 female sport consumption motivations skill, achievement, and social factor had a positive effect on word of mouth intention. Third, among the motivation factors, factors effecting re-attend intention had difference on the level of team identification. Forth, among the motivation factors, factors effecting word of mouth intention had difference on the level of team identification.

A Study on the Structural Relationship Between Fan Citizenship And Sports Marketing Achievement (팬 시민행동이 스포츠마케팅 성과 간 구조적 관계에 관한 연구)

  • This study was intended to examine the structural relationship between fan citizenship and sports marketing achievement. For that, 220 questionnaires were distributed to the fans of Lotte Giant in Busan region and 205 questionnaires were used finally. The hypotheses were validated by using SPSS 25.0 and Smart PLS 2.0 based on the study model. All hypotheses were adopted, except for 4 hypotheses(Hypothesis 5-3, Hypothesis 6-1, Hypothesis 6-2, and Hypothesis 6-3), among a total of 17 hypotheses. For that, the results were derived as below: First, fan citizenship had a positive(+) influence on team equity(Hypothesis 1), sponsor assets(Hypothesis 2), and community equity(Hypothesis 3) as a whole. Second, team equity had a positive(+) influence on sponsor assets(Hypothesis 4) in all respects, and furthermore, had a positive(+) influence on local image(Hypothesis 5-1) and contribution to local community(Hypothesis 5-2). Meanwhile, team equity did not have a statistically significant influence on social interchange(Hypothesis 5-3. Finally, sponsor assets and community equity were found to have the relationship as follows: No statistically significant relationship was observed between corporate image and community equity. Corporate awareness had a positive(+) influence as a whole. The results of this study are expected to provide comprehensive understanding and theoretical and practical implications of the influence that fan citizenship would have on sports marketing achievement.

  • Fans' role and influence is becoming more extensive in these days' complex and competitive sports market. This research considers fans as internal members of sports team, employee and confirms active and voluntary fan citizenship behavior's effects on team, community, and social exchange among community residents, so that an enterprise can increase accessibility from many-sided perspectives when establishing sports marketing strategy in the future. The concept of fan citizenship behavior is set up considering characteristic of sports industry based on employee's organizational citizenship behavior discussed from the internal marketing and organization theory and preliminary studies about client citizenship behavior mentioned from service industry area. Although the sixteen research hypothesis are not fully supported. The results are summarized as follows. These findings give theoretical and marketing implication to future researcher and marketer. First, fan's positive aspect is confirmed which is different from general consumer by examining fan citizenship behavior's effect on teal value in the sports industry. Second, it was confirmed that the team needs marketing strategies about not only relationship between each individual fan, but also interaction between fans in the future. Third, it was confirmed that direct fan's behavior as well as individual fan's cognitive area have effects on team's and social value.

  • 세계 182개국 6천만 태권도인들의 성지이자 대한민국의 자랑스러운 문화관광 유산이 될 태권도공원이 전라북도 무주군에 조성되고 있다. 맨체스터는 18세기 영국 산업혁명의 요충지였으나 후기산업사회로 넘어오면서 오래된 중공업 도시 이미지를 도시이미지가 후퇴하였다. 맨체스터는 이를 쇄신하기 위하여 장소마케팅 전략을 성공적으로 수행하였다. 대표적으로 맨체스터 유나이티드와 맨체스터 씨티를 보유한 세계 스포츠 축구팬들의 메카로 자리잡은 것이다. 태권도 공원은 특색있는 3개의 구역(체험공간, 수련공간, 상징공간)으로 나누어지고 있음을 알 수 있다.

  • This study notices that corporate crisis spreading throughout society through SNS, according to the growing influence of online e-WOM on the basis Mobile and SNS. The study will prove that users' psychological tendencies can be affected by online e-WOM and played a role factors of crisis management on Facebook fanpage. This study conducted Facebook Fanpages users' perception of authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and interactivity affected Online e-WOM before a crisis, and authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and interactivity affected negative Online e-WOM after a crisis. The result through the sample of 290 men and women in their 20s and 30s who use a Facebook fanpage. found that Facebook fanpage users' perception of authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and interactivity affect on Online e-WOM before a crisis. On the other hand, the results found that Facebook fanpage users' perception of authenticity, and interactivity affect on Online e-WOM in caused crisis. Based on the results from the present study, suggested authenticity, Fanpage identification theory and Interactivity function in the aspect of the relationship marketing or crisis communication.

Power of SNS Authenticity on Company Reputation (기업명성과 SNS 진정성의 영향력 연구)

  • SNS is in the process of fast evolution as well. This study is about influence of authenticity and interactivity among Facebook Fan Page users. Authenticity is something people form in the process of expressing and sharing information thru SNS Facebook Fan Page. Interactivity is a level of participation of users in the process of expressing and sharing information thru SNS Facebook Fan Page. The focus of this paper is to see the power of authenticity and interactivity of SNS Facebook Fan Page users in a time of crisis. Authenticity is proven as a valuable asset for corporations for it showed a sturdy characteristic even when something terrible happened. When a crisis attacked, high authenticity user group was not willing to change their evaluation on a company reputation and image as much as low authenticity user group. Interestingly enough, the meaning interactivity level was strikingly different from what we expected. The more their level of interactivity, was the more they were likely to change their evaluation on a company in a time of crisis. A serious discussion is necessary for this contraty results.

  • Appearance and rapid growth of the social network services (SNS) have led to changes in the distribution structure of information. Consumers can obtain various information quickly via the social network services and companies make use of a new advertising channel in them. In order to increase the effect of publicity activities through the social network services, development and application of public relations strategy by evaluating and analyzing the results of the activities is required. In this paper, a method for developing a low cost system to evaluate and analyze the results of public relations through the social networks is proposed. The proposed method was verified through building and running a demo system to collect and analyze data in the Facebook fan pages using MySQL database and PHP script on a Linux server.
