A Contextual Study of Public Transport Information Service Use Behavior in Daily Activity (일상 활동에서의 상황변수를 고려한 대중교통 정보서비스 이용 유형 연구)

  • It has become important to have some proper guidelines of how to provide public transport information services in response to the rapid IT developments and the wide spread of public information services. The current study takes a contextual approach to the analysis of public transportation information use under a dynamic decision situation, complementing the conventional cross-sectional approaches. Using the CHAID of decision tree induction based on decision table formalism applied to the survey data of activity travel and information use, the study found that the information type and medium choices are strongly affected by the decision contexts in addition to the individuals' socio-demographic characteristics. The results suggest an important implication to the market segmentation of information services for public transportation.

  • 본 논문은 다양한 종류의 분산 인공지능 문제들을 에이전트라는 추상적 단위와 에이전트간의 상호작용을 토대로 해결하는 다중 에이전트 시스템을 개발하는 체계적 접근방법으로서 개발 방법론의 핵심인 아키텍쳐의 개발방법을 제안한다. 목표를 기반으로 문제영역을 이해하고, 여기에서 추출된 에이전트들을 이용하여 시스템을 개발함에 있어 지침이 되는 아키텍쳐 개발공정을 다중 에이전트 시스템의 특성인 조정과 자율성을 고려하여 제안한다. 각 관점마다 적용될 수 있는 아키텍쳐 스타일과 패턴들을 정의하고, 제안한 아키텍쳐를 UML(Unified Modeling Language)을 이용하여 표현하며, 아키텍쳐를 설명하는 ADL(Architecture Description Language)을 이용하여 정형화시킨다. 또한, 이를 지능형 교통시스템의 출발전 교통정보 안내 서브시스템에 적용, 구현함으로써, 제안하는 아키텍쳐를 검증해 보고, 이를 기반으로 소프트웨어를 개발하는 기초를 마련한다.

  • 자동차 전조등에서 얻을 수 있는 자료는 차량마다 가지는 각각의 다양한 패턴과 문자 숫자 및 특수문자이탈 문자나 숫자 그리고 특수문자의 경우는 저장된 데이터베이스의 활용으로 그 차량에 대한 정보를 검색할 수 있다. 하지만 전조등의 경우에는 부분적인 패턴만이 있다면 숫자나 문자들의 정보에 의존할 수 없게 된다. 본 논문에서는 무늬가 가지는 특징의 추출을 이용하여 발생하고 있는 교통사고나 기타 사건의 발생시 부분적인 영상만이 획득되더라도 정색을 통한 후보 차량의 정색이 가능하도록 영상의 특성 값들을 구성하러 조합하였다. 본 시스템은 사고차량의 추적 및 교통사고에서보다 효율그인 과학수사에 일조할 것으로 기대한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to minimize negative effect of VMS travel time information service by sensitivity analysis, which forecasts the change in link traffic volume. As a result, strategies for providing travel information that can change driving patterns for minimizing travel time were found. The framework for analysis is recently expanded with the application of game theory. According to the experiment, the algorithm generated for travel time information service reduces total travel time and yields travel patterns that is very close to the system optimization. Also, this study found that the route the travel time service information is provided about could play the important role.

  • This paper proposes a method for recognition of traffic signs using wavelet transform and shape information from the segmented traffic sign regions. It first segments traffic sign candidate regions by connected component algorithm from binary images, obtained by utilizing the RGB color ratio of each pixel in the image, and then extracts actual traffic sign regions based on their symmetries on X- and Y-axes. In the recognition stage, it utilizes shape information including moment edge correlogram and the number of crossings which concentric circular patterns from region center intersects with frequency information extracted by wavelet transform It finally performs recognition by measuring similarity with the templates in the database. The experimental results show the validity of the proposed method from geometric transformations and environmental factors.

  • In this paper, it was performed the analysis on various intersection acoustic patterns for detection rate improvement of accident sound detection system : an acoustic pattern analysis on general traffic noise, an acoustic pattern analysis on engine noise, an acoustic pattern analysis on obstruct factors for accident sound detection system. There are remarkable differences between the acoustic patterns of traffic noise and accident sound, and we most consider the acoustic patterns when we compose the accident traffic detection system by acoustic because there is error range of 20[dB] according to the volume of traffic in intersection.

  • 최근 타 교통수단으로 인해 발생하는 교통사고나 환경오염 등의 문제들을 보완하는 녹색 교통수단의 하나로써 보행교통에 대한 관심과 연구가 활발하게 증가되고 있다. 하지만 차량교통에 관한 연구에 비해 보행 교통에 관한 연구는 미미하며, 특히 우리나라 여건에 맞는 보행 환경의 서비스 수준과 보행 안전도 등에 대한 객관적 평가 모형의 개발이 필요한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 도시 내 보행 환경 요소를 정량적으로 계산하고 측정할 수 있는 평가 지표인 그린 스코어(Green Score)를 개발하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 그린 스코어 측정 모형은 실제 물리적인 보행공간을 기반으로 가상의 시스템에 적용되어 보행 이동 패턴의 가시화, 보행 환경의 쾌적성과 편의성 평가 예측에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Because of road construction and expansion, Update of the road traffic facilities DB is steadily increased each year, and, Increasing drivers and cars, safety signs for traffic safety are required management and additional installation continuously. To update Safety Sign database promptly, we have developed auto recognition function of safety sign, and analyzed coordinates accuracy. The purpose of this study was to propose methods to update about road traffic facilities efficiently. For this purpose, omni-directional camera was calibrated for acquisition of 3-dimensional coordinates, integrated GPS/IMU/DMI system and applied image processing. In this experiment, we proposed a effective method to update database of road traffic facilities for digital map.

  • Since 2005, when "The Mobility Enhancement for the Mobility Impaired Act" was enacted, special transport systems(SPS) has been introduced by each responsible local entity. For its efficient operations and service enhancements, a clear understanding of travel patterns of SPS users is required. Yet we currently have a very limited understanding about them due to a lack of necessary data. This study represents an attempt to provide a better understanding of SPS user's travel patterns with the data generated by Gyeongsangnam-do SPS Call Center. The data include the number, time and day of calls, origins and destinations of callers, types of callers' impairement etc. The data thus allow one to analyze users' travel patterns, including area-wide O-D patterns. There were a number of interesting findings. For example, wheelchair users are only about 42% and the trips are made mostly on non-peak daytime periods. The results are expected to provide a helpful information not just for Center's SPS operations, but for other local entities that are interested in developing similar call centers as well. By refining the SPS system, periodic patterns of callers could be identified in the future.

Short-term Traffic States Prediction Using k-Nearest Neighbor Algorithm: Focused on Urban Expressway in Seoul (k-NN 알고리즘을 활용한 단기 교통상황 예측: 서울시 도시고속도로 사례)

  • This study evaluates potential sources of errors in k-NN(k-nearest neighbor) algorithm such as procedures, variables, and input data. Previous research has been thoroughly reviewed for understanding fundamentals of k-NN algorithm that has been widely used for short-term traffic states prediction. The framework of this algorithm commonly includes historical data smoothing, pattern database, similarity measure, k-value, and prediction horizon. The outcomes of this study suggests that: i) historical data smoothing is recommended to reduce random noise of measured traffic data; ii) the historical database should contain traffic state information on both normal and event conditions; and iii) trial and error method can improve the prediction accuracy by better searching for the optimum input time series and k-value. The study results also demonstrates that predicted error increases with the duration of prediction horizon and rapidly changing traffic states.
