A study on the Practical Use of the COS Color System in Interior Design - Focused on the Color Analysis of '97-'98 Interior Materials Produced in Korea - (실내디자인 분야에서 COS color System의 활용성에 관한 연구 -' 97-'98 실내마감재 색채분석을 중심으로 -)

  • Originally the COS system was developed based on fashion colors. But in interiors many other color groups are used frequently, so the COS system is somewhat insufficient for interior design work. The purpose of this study is to verify the pratical use of the COS system in finishing colors of housing interiors and to propose the additional colors based on interior finishings. The COS system and the NCS color system were used for color measurement. The results was as follows. In the hues, Y.YR.GY.PB.B.BG color groups were used for interior material more frequently. And regardless of hues, low saturation and high value colors were used. Most of the colors were inscribed as the COS system and the NCS color system simultaneouly, but muted and grayed color tones like pale.light.grayish.soft cannot be founded in the COS system. Therefore more subdued and soothing tones of Y.YR.GY.PB.B.BG color groups should be added to the COS system.

A Quantitative Approach to the studies in Historic Costume using the Documentary Evidence (문헌조사를 통한 복식사 연구에서의 양적 분석)

  • 복식사 연구의 한 방법으로서, 문헌을 통하여 다량의 정보 수집이 가능할 경우, 사회과학의 분야에서 사용되어 온 내용분석법을 도입하여 정보의 수량화를 꾀할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 내용분석법을 이용하여 1856년부터 1870년에 이르기까지 미국 여성의 평상복(daydress)중 재킷과 치마의 유행 경향을 당시의 대포적인 패션 잡지인 Godey's Ladies Book과 Perterson's Magazine의 패션 삽화를 토대로 분석하였다. 1856∼1870년은 미국의 남북전쟁 발발 5년 전부터 남북전쟁 직후 5년까지 의 15년간의 기간을 이르며, 해당 15년은 전쟁 전, 전쟁 중, 그리고 전쟁 후의 5년간씩의 3 시기로 나뉘어졌다. 연구의 목적은 여성 평상복의 디자인이 위의 기간 동안 남북전쟁의 한 영향으로서 군복 '라일의 경향을 띄게 되는지의 여부를 조사하는 것이다. 군복 스타일의 경향은 몸에 꼭 맞는 실루엣(fitted silhouette), 에플렛(epaulet), 스텐딩 칼라(standing collar), 더블 여밈 (double-breastedness) 다수의 단추의 사용 및 장식(buttons)으로 정의되었다. 여성스러운 스타일의 경향은 풍성한 실루엣 (full silhouette), 플라운스가 된 치마(flounced skirt), 그리고 러플/fp이 스/리본 (ruffles/lace/ribbons)의 사용 여부로 정의되었다. 연구의 초점은 객관적이고 체계적인 문헌 정보의 수집 방법을 수립하는 데 있었으며, 수집된 자로는 각 변수의 빈도 분포포에 의해 조사되었다. Fitted silhouette, epaulet, 그리고 standing collar는 제 3시기에 가장 많이 나타났고 제 1시기에 가장 적게 나타났다. 여성스러운 스타일에 있어서 full sihouette과 trounced skirt는 제 1시기에 가 장 많이 보였고 전쟁 당시와 전후에 점차적으로 적게 나타났다. Buttons나 double breastedness 등은 제 2시기에 가장 많이 보이고 제 3시기에는 오히려 가장 낮은 빈도수를 보였다. 반면에 ruffles/lace/ribbons는 fitted silhouette 등의 군복 스타일의 변수와 더불어 제 3시기에 가장 많이 보인 것으로 분석되었다. 전반적인 유행의 경향에 있어서, 군복 스타일의 변수와 여성스러운 경향의 변수를 각각 종합하여 분석해 보면, 제 2시기를 중심으로 전자의 유행은 점차적으로 증가하고 후자의 유행은 감소되고 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 그러나 당시 미국 패션은 유럽 왕실의 유행에 의해 크게 영향을 받은 것을 감안할 때 본 연구의 결괴는 서양 복식의 역사의 선상에서 조심스럽게 해석되어야 할 것 이다.

Application Case Study of Computer Simualtion on Hairdressing Industry (헤어 스타일 시뮬레이션의 적용 사례 연구)

  • Virtual reality has been new useful technology which have been brought our from the development of computer and computer based multimedia. Computer simulation application among the technologies of the virtual reality has spreaded into air service, motor vehicle, medical science, sports, education, even fashion industry. This study aims to look into application of computer simulation on hairdressing industry and researches 2-dimensional hairstyle computer simulation system which is started to common use nowadays and the 3-dimensional system which is under the development and furthermore investigates the usefulness of the 2D hairstyle simulation by questionnaire from its users. Statistical analysis show that 64.6% of examiners are satisfied at the results of 2D hairstyle simulation, 50.6% of them intend to recommend it to others and 63.3% of them intend to speak highly of it.

Research Trend in Korean Fashion Marketing and Its Implications: Based on Journal Publications by 2000 (한국 패션마케팅 분야의 연구경향과 시사점: 2000년까지의 학회지 논문을 중심으로)

  • The main objectives of this study were to examine the research trend in fashion marketing which has developed relatively recently among all subject areas in clothing and textiles, and to make suggestions regarding the future direction of the area. Research papers published in the first volume to the year 2000 volume of the Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association, and Journal of the Korean Society of Costume were examined and a total of 252 papers were categorized as fashion marketing papers. The results showed that the research topics were concentrated around consumer behavior, particularly decision making stage, and approximately a quarter of the papers dealt with 4P's -product, price, place and promotion- in marketing. Over 80% of the papers used survey method, and more than half of the papers examined female subjects exclusively, while only 6 research papers focused on males. The results indicated how fashion marketing area has been developing and what are needed to expand and strengthen the area.

  • Rapid evolutions in recent years related to IT (information technology) which has been exceedingly developed make it possible to utilize its application in broad fields as providing a convenient way to gather and to reuse information. As smart phones have been sporadic nowadays which boost increase of SNS in real-time making more dynamic, it is becoming more worthful as a marketing tool in the field of fashion area. In this study, we have explored some case studies in which they are actively using Facebook. We have selected 10 fashion brands to compare their activities in boards containing 'notice', 'like this', 'people talking about this' and 'event'. We also conduct the correlation analysis between the indicators above, using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. As a consequence, we can confirm that 'notice' highly correlates with 'like this', but we cannot find any other correlations between the other factors. As a reasult, marketing in Facebook is more efficient communication way between the companies and customers than using other current mass media, it shows that SNS in fashion marketing could be an innovative solution to overcome current limitations caused probably by lack of communications.

  • The desire to be beautiful naturally focuses on aesthetics, and the beauty industry is growing significantly accordingly. Among them, art makeup is developing in the beauty field as a creative and experimental art field that breaks away from the fixed framework centered on color and expression. Art makeup is a field that requires research on a new artistic form of art makeup that applies formative principles through design ideas based on integrated arts such as fashion, architecture, and art according to formative principles. Formative principles were classified into balance, unity, emphasis, and rhythm, and practical cases based on his applied integrated arts were divided into landscaping, architecture, flowers, painting, fashion, and interior design, and art makeup design using formative principles was analyzed. Accordingly, we aim to contribute to the development of new designs by explaining how makeup design forms that apply formative principles are being applied in the field of art makeup, exploring expansion into creative areas, and providing academic theoretical foundations and basic materials for the development of art makeup.

MF sampler: Sampling method for improving the performance of a video based fashion retrieval model (MF sampler: 동영상 기반 패션 검색 모델의 성능 향상을 위한 샘플링 방법)

  • Recently, as the market for short form videos (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) on social media has gradually increased, research using them is actively being conducted in the artificial intelligence field. A representative research field is Video to Shop, which detects fashion products in videos and searches for product images. In such a video-based artificial intelligence model, product features are extracted using convolution operations. However, due to the limitation of computational resources, extracting features using all the frames in the video is practically impossible. For this reason, existing studies have improved the model's performance by sampling only a part of the entire frame or developing a sampling method using the subject's characteristics. In the existing Video to Shop study, when sampling frames, some frames are randomly sampled or sampled at even intervals. However, this sampling method degrades the performance of the fashion product search model while sampling noise frames where the product does not exist. Therefore, this paper proposes a sampling method MF (Missing Fashion items on frame) sampler that removes noise frames and improves the performance of the search model. MF sampler has improved the problem of resource limitations by developing a keyframe mechanism. In addition, the performance of the search model is improved through noise frame removal using the noise detection model. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the proposed method improves the model's performance and helps the model training to be effective.

  • With the advent of deep learning and the rapid development of ICT (Information and Communication Technology), research using artificial intelligence is being actively conducted in various fields of society such as politics, economy, and culture and so on. Deep learning-based artificial intelligence technology is subdivided into various domains such as natural language processing, image processing, speech processing, and recommendation system. In particular, as the industry is advanced, the need for a recommendation system that analyzes market trends and individual characteristics and recommends them to consumers is increasingly required. In line with these technological developments, this paper extracts and classifies attribute information from structured or unstructured text and image big data through deep learning-based technology development of 'language processing intelligence' and 'image processing intelligence', and We propose an artificial intelligence-based 'customized fashion advisor' service integration system that analyzes trends and new materials, discovers 'market-consumer' insights through consumer taste analysis, and can recommend style, virtual fitting, and design support.

  • The development of computer and multimedia brought out new technology, that is, virtual reality. Computer simulation adaptation among the technologies of the virtual reality is spreaded into air service, motor vehicle, medical science, sports, education, even fashion industry. This study look into 2-dimensional hair-style computer simulation system which is started to common use nowadays and the 3-dimensional system which is under the development. And this study proposed several problems such as heavy 3D system booth and the low price but low qualified camera in order to commercialize the 3D system. This study also suggest several alternative, for instance, the change from object photography method to panoramic photography method, the substitute by middle or high end and high qualified camera.
