Effects of Consumer Innovativeness on the Evaluation of the Online Fashion Advertisement Sustainability (온라인 패션광고의 지속가능성 평가에 대한 소비자 혁신성 효과)

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of consumer innovativeness on the evaluation of online fashion advertisement sustainability and on purchase intentions of advertising products. Online survey have been conducted of 573 people who had experience of online advertisements. The data collected from the surveys were analyzed by the factor analysis, the t-test and the multiple regression analysis. the results are as follows: Firstly, it has been identified that the concept of sustainability of online fashion advertisement consists of four sub-elements of the objectivity of advertisement expressions, the non-harmfulness of advertisement expressions, the protection of personal information, and the non-infringement of web use. Secondly, the group that has a higher consumer innovativeness shows a significantly higher experience of online advertisements as well as more many internet use hours than those who have a lower consumer innovativeness. In addition, comparing with the group that shows lower consumer innovativeness, the group who has higher consumer innovativeness shows a significantly higher recognition of the protection of personal information, the non-infringement of web use and the objectiveness of advertisement expressions among the sub-elements of online fashion advertisement. Lastly, the objectiveness of advertisement expressions and the non-infringement of web use significantly affect the intentions of the group that has high consumer innovativeness to purchase advertised products, and the purchase intentions of those who have low consumer innovativeness are significantly affected by the objectiveness of advertisement expressions and the protection of personal information.

The Advertising Effects of Fashion Sexual Appeal Advertising (패션 성적소구광고의 광고효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine if there are the differences in advertising effects among three fashion sexual advertisements in terms of sexual appeal levels(high/medium/low). Through three pre-tests, three stimuli were chosen for this study. Three hundred female college students in Seoul participated in this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, ANOVA analysis, and reliability test were used. The results were as follows: First, from the factor analysis on advertising attitudes, three factors such as emotional, behavioral, and cognitive factors were produced. Second, there were significant differences in three sexual appeal levels among three advertising attitude factors. Third, there was also a significant difference in three sexual appeal levels on brand attitude. Finally, there was not a significant difference in the sexual appeal levels on purchase intention. Based on these results, this study would provide significant and efficient fashion advertising strategies to fashion advertising marketers and advertisement creators as implications.

Communication Effects of Sex-Appeal Fashion POP Advertising -Focused on Nudity Type and Discount Message Use- (섹스어필 패션 POP 광고의 커뮤니케이션 효과 -노출유형과 할인율 메시지 사용을 중심으로-)

  • This study was intended to identify the differences in communication effects according to nudity type and discount message use in the context of sex-appeal fashion POP advertising. For the experiment, 8 stimuli were developed as experimental stimuli for the 4 (nudity type (nude, semi-nude, body-consciousness, non nude)) $\times$ 2 (discount messages (available, not available)) factorial design. A total of 280 questionnaires allocating thirty-five students to each group were distributed. The results were as follows. First, there were significant differences in advertising affect, attitude toward advertising, and brand attitude according to nudity type of sex-appeal fashion POP advertising. Second, there was no significant difference in communication effects by discount message use. Third, there was interaction effect according to nudity type and discount message use on the aspect of advertising cognition.

Content Analysis of Fashion Magazine Advertisement (패션잡지광고의 내용분석)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the information cues in fashion magazine advertisement in 2008. A total of 368 ads executed in fashion magazine in 2008 were analyzed by number of cues, type of information, magazine type and ad size. The results show that information cues in magazine ads were remarkably decreased compare to the previous studies. Only 36.1% of the advertisements include more than 1 information cues. The results of the study also demonstrate that the advertisements in Woman Sense has the most much information cues. Interestingly, the smaller ad size includes the more information cues in all of ads.

The study on the change of consumer brand attitude resulting from the levels of exposure to socially responsible advertisements and socially responsible fashion advertisements (사회책임적 광고 및 사회책임적 패션광고에 따른 소비자의 브랜드 태도 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how Socially Responsible Advertisements and Socially Responsible Fashion Advertisements affect brand attitudes, dependent on the level of consumer recollection. The following is a summary of the main findings. Corporate Socially Responsible Advertisements had a positive effect on the behavioral attitude of consumers. However, Socially Responsible Fashion Advertisements more positively affected the emotive attitude. Considering the consumer's recollection, the influences of Socially Responsible Advertisements and Socially Responsible Fashion Advertisements on Brand Attitude were investigated. In the case of Socially Responsible Advertisement, the cognitive attitude factor, that is the rational aspect of consumers, induced a favorable response, whereas, in Socially Responsible Fashion Advertisements, the emotive attitude factor had the highest level of influence on consumers.

Analysis of the Standardization of Global Fashion Advertizing (글로벌 패션광고의 표준화 분석)

  • This study purported to analyze the condition of the degree standardization and types of global ads. in the multinational fashion brand corporations. The analyzed ads. were sampled from monthly magazines on same seasons in 1997. This study was done by means of checklists were modified other researcher's research measurments. Researcher counted of advertising message. Zero point meant perfect stan-dardization and 13 points meant perfect non-standardization. The types of advertising appeal were analyzed according to constituent unit's expression types. The results of the study proved that the degree of standardization was considerably high, which means that the multinational fashion brand corporations used the standardization strategy. In particular, the degree of standardization in sports wear and casual wear ads. was low compared with the degree of standardization in the other ads. Most of the global fashion ads. were composed of illustrations only. Besides, emotional appeal type was usually used in glabal fashion ads.

  • The purpose of this study was to comparatively analyze advertisements of prestigious products and domestic fashion brands through fashion magazines. Especially, a comparative analysis of creative advertising strategies of prestigious products and fashion brands will be vital in establishing advertising strategies and marketing planning of domestic fashion brands. This study targeted and analyzed all the advertisements of prestigious fashion products and domestic career women's high-end casual brands printed in VOGUE KOREA and ELLE KOREA in 2005 and 2006. Descriptive statistics and x2-test were used. As a result of the analysis, prestigious product advertisements accounted for 197 (57.9%), and domestic fashion 143 (42.1%) out of a total of 764. Except for duplicates, the 340 advertisements analyzed, were selected for this study. Luxury fashion brand advertising accounted for more than domestic fashion brands in the magazines studied. That is luxury fashion brands have greater exposure to consumers. Based on the results drawn in this study for fashion products, various and unique advertising strategies utilizing visual factors that most effectively delivered to consumers are imminently needed as creative strategy measures in domestic fashion advertising.

Internet Fashion Advertising Avoidance: Internet Advertising Attributes (인터넷 패션 광고 회피에 관한 연구: 인터넷광고속성을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate advertising avoidance of the Internet fashion advertising. Three hundred and thirty college students living in Seoul and its suburb participated in this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability, and Structure Equation Modeling were used. The results were as follows. First, an ‘informativeness’ and ‘entertainment’ of advertisement affected negatively on fashion advertising avoidance. Second, ‘the perceived intrusiveness’ of advertisement did not affect significantly on fashion advertising avoidance. Third, ‘the clutter’ of advertisement did affect positively on advertising avoidance. Based on these results, this study would provide Internet fashion marketers more efficient Internet fashion advertising strategies.
