  • 컴퓨터 비전을 이용한 자동차 번호판 인식은 자동차에 특별한 장치가 필요없어 비용면에서 유리하다. 자동차 번호판을 인식하기 위해서는 번호판의 영역을 추출한 후 번호판에서 문자와 숫자 영역을 분리하고 그 세그먼트를 신경 회로망 혹은 다른 방법을 통하여 인식한다. 본 논문은 자동차 번호판 위치 검출 방법과 세그멘테이션 방법에 대하여 제안한다. 자동차 번호판 위치 검출을 위하여 모폴로지 기법과 ART2 클러스터링 방법을 이용하였고 검출한 번호판 영역에서 세그멘테이션은 모폴로지 연산을 이용한 이진화와 레이블링을 이용한다.

Vehicle Plate Recognition Using Fuzzy-ARTMAP Neural Network (Fuzzy ARTMAP 신경망을 이용한 차량 번호판 인식에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, it is shown that the car number plate are recognized more efficiently by using Fuzzy-ARTM AP. We use the location information of characters in the car number plate area and the color intensity difference between the character region and the background region int the tar number plate area. For segmented plate region, the car plate region is extracted by deciding the X-axis region composed by horizontal histogram and the Y-axis region composed by the variance histogram of vertical histogram. Our method then directly recognizes the extracted character region by using Fuzzy-ARTMAP neural network.

  • The method to remove the head of the cast-in-place pile using the detonating cord and horizontal separation plate was proposed in this paper. Plain concrete block was fabricated. Through the blasting test of the concrete block, the charge weight and the burden required for cutting the pile head were identified. The degree of damage of concrete blocks after cutting the head was checked using AUTODYN 2D. As a result of the experiment, it was found that the concrete block was cut using the 10 g/m detonating cord and horizontal separation plate, and the directional cutting of the block using the horizontal separation plate and the block damage caused by the detonating cord were reduced.

  • This study was carried out for investigating the corrosion behaviors, corrosion mechanisms, and behaviors of elements on a separator for a molten carbonate fuel cell under both the electrolyte and anode side environment. A 310S austenitic stainless steel was used as the separator material. Corrosion proceeded via three steps; the formation step of corrosion product in which rapid corrosion takes place until stable corrosion product is formed after the beginning of corrosion, the protection step against corrosion until breakaway occurs after the formation step of stable corrosion product and the advancing step of corrosion after the breakaway. From the standpoint of the behavior of the elements in the specimen, Fe and Cr, Ni were enriched in the region of corrosion product, in the region of corrosion protection, and at the Cr-deplete zone, respectively. With respect to corrosion mechanism, ionization of electrolyte at the anode side was the main corrosion mechanism, and the final corrosion products were $LiFeO_2$ and $LiCrO_2$ at the anode side.

Drag Reduction on a Square Prism Using a Detached Splitter Plate (분리된 분할판에 의한 정방형주의 항력감소)

  • The Characteristics of the drag reduction of a square prism having a detached splitter plate at the wake side were investigated by measuring of lift and drag on the square prism. The experimental parameters were the width ratios(H/B=0.5~1.5) of splitters to the prism width and the gap ratios (G/B=0~2) between the prism and the splitter plate. As the results the amplitude of the lift on the square prism having a detached splitter plate was remarkably decreased by comparison with the prototypical square prism. The drag reduction rate of the square prism was increased with H/B in case of the same G/B, and was increased and decreased with G/B in case of the same H/B. The maximum drag reduction rate was represented by 24.2% at H/B=1.5 and G/B=0.5.

  • Conventional nylon wire cutting-type holding and release mechanisms (HRMs) are limited to securely hold the solar panel under launch environment as the size of the panel increases because the nylon wire is tightened directly on the surface of the solar panel. In this study, we proposed a nylon wire cutting-type HRM for 6U CubeSat's solar panel applying elliptic-shaped bracket with a Ball & Socket interface. The proposed HRM has the advantage of higher holding capability along in-plane and out-of plane directions of solar panel and simplicity in tightening process of nylon wire. The design drivers of structural design of CubeSat's solar panel with the proposed HRM were defined by structural analysis under launch loads. In addition, The design effectiveness of the proposed HRM was verified through the functional tests according to the thickness of nylon wire and the number of wire winding under various temperature conditions.

  • 수소자동차용 연료전지의 중요 핵심부품 중 하나인 금속분리판의 경우 표면 처리 및 코팅기법을 이용해 전기적 고전도 특성과 화학적 내부식 특성을 확보하는 것이 관건이다. 본 연구내용은 향후 상용화를 목적으로 지금까지 진행해 온 금속분리판을 위한 건식 진공 표면처리 및 코팅기술 개발 현황에 대한 것이다. 생산비용의 저가화와 대량생산 가능성을 고려하여 고속의 연속 전처리법 및 진공증착법을 기본 공정으로 선정하고, 고전도/내부식성 증착물질 선택에도 귀금속을 배제하는 등의 기본 전제와 연구 결과를 소개한다. 기 확보된 기술에 의한 접촉저항 및 내부식 특성은 미국 DOE의 2017년 목표치를 만족하는 결과를 보였다.

Fatigue Damage of Quasi-Isotropic Composite Laminates (의사등방성 복합재 적층판의 피로손상)

  • In this study, when the applied directions of tensile loading is changed fatigue damage of quasi-isotropic composite laminates was discussed. Low cycle fatigue tests of $[0/-60/+60]_s$ laminates and $[+30/-30/90]_s$ laminates were carried out. Material systems used were AS4/Epoxy and AS4/PEEK. The fatigue damage of $[+30/-30/90]_s$ laminates differed from that of $[0/-60/+60]_s$ laminates. The position of delamination generated at AS4/Epoxy and AS4/PEEK $[+30/-30/90]_s$ laminates appeared differently according to the kind of matrix. Critical values of strain energy release rate were obtained by using the strain measured at the initiation of delamination. The experimental results agreed well with the results obtained by the proposed method for determining strain energy release rate.

  • Recently, the color of vehicle license plate has been changed from green to white. Thus the vehicle plate recognition system used for parking management systems, speed and signal violation detection systems should be robust to the both colors. This paper presents a vehicle license plate recognition system, which works on both of green and white plate at the same time. In the proposed system, the image of license plate is taken from a captured vehicle image by using morphological information. In the next, each character region in the license plate image is extracted based on the vertical and horizontal projection of plate image and the relative position of individual characters. Finally, for the recognition process of extracted characters, PCA(Principal Component Analysis) and LDA(Linear Discriminant Analysis) are sequentially utilized. In the experiment, vehicle license plates of both green background and white background captured under irregular illumination conditions have been tested, and the relatively high extraction and recognition rates are observed.
