우주배경복사 온도비등방성 파워스펙트럼의 셋째 봉우리에 나타난 남북 이상

  • WMAP이 7년 동안 관측해 얻은 우주배경복사의 온도비등방성 지도로부터 파워스펙트럼을 측정하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. WMAP의 가상관측 자료를 분석하여 파워스펙트럼이 제대로 측정되는지를 시험하였으며, 실제 WMAP 자료에서 측정한 파워스펙트럼이 WMAP팀의 결과와 통계적으로 일치함을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 천구를 다양한 영역으로 나누어 파워스펙트럼을 측정해 보았다. 특히, 남, 북반구의 은위 30도 이상 영역에서 측정한 파워스펙트럼을 비교한 결과, 셋째 봉우리가 남(북)반구에서 상대적으로 높(낮)게 나타났으며 봉우리 높이의 남북 차이는 표준 ${\Lambda}CDM$ 우주모형으로 분석하여 보면 $3{\sigma}$ 정도의 통계적인 유의성을 보였다. 이러한 남북 이상(anomaly)의 원인으로서 WMAP의 기기 잡음, 우리은하의 방출선, 은하 외부적인 점광원에 의한 오염 가능성을 조사하고 토의하였다. 파워스펙트럼의 셋째 봉우리는 WMAP 해상도의 한계 지점이며 기기 잡음이 우세한 지역이므로, WMAP의 자료만으로 검출된 남북 이상의 원인을 찾기에는 한계가 있다. 앞으로 Planck 위성의 관측 자료가 공개되면 그 원인이 규명이 될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

Performance analysis on the asymmetric watermark using power spectrum domain (파워 스펙트럼 도메인 비대칭 워터마크의 성능 분석)

  • This paper proposes a novel method to detect Furon's asymmetric watermark by using a correlation detector that is mathematically tractable and simple. The performance of the proposed method is tested under various conditions. The experimental results matched the theoretical results well, showing that the correlation detector can indeed be used for the detection of asymmetric watermark. The proposed detector is aplied to both single and multiple bit embedded watermark. Bit error rate (BER), obtained from the experiment, was compared to the one obtained from the theory. As the embedded information increases, the BER of the Furon's asymmetric watermarking method also increases rapidly.

Water Leakage Detection Monitoring Simulation using Power Spectrum Analysis (파워스펙트럼 분석을 이용한 누수탐지 모니터링 시뮬레이션)

  • With the development of IT convergence technology and the construction of infrastructure for water leakage detection, the detection technology of damaged pileline's location and size is being spotlighted. The exhaustion of water resource due to the leakage of water supply facilities renders it urgent to detect water leakage effectively. In this paper, we proposed the water leakage detection monitoring simulation using the power spectrum analysis. We measured the reflected wave signal by the proposed water leakage detection monitoring simulation. The rate variability is calculated form the acquired reflected wave signal. And the power spectrum analysis using the Fast Fourier Transform is evaluated the correlation between the water leakage's size and the reflected wave. Ultimately, this paper suggests empirical simulation to verify the adequacy and the validity. Accordingly, the satisfaction and the quality of services will be improved the efficient management by supporting the real-time water leakage detection.

A New Power Spectrum Warping Approach to Speaker Warping (화자 정규화를 위한 새로운 파워 스펙트럼 Warping 방법)

  • The method of speaker normalization has been known as the successful method for improving the accuracy of speech recognition at speaker independent speech recognition system. A frequency warping approach is widely used method based on maximum likelihood for speaker normalization. This paper propose a new power spectrum warping approach to making improvement of speaker normalization better than a frequency warping. Th power spectrum warping uses Mel-frequency cepstrum analysis(MFCC) and is a simple mechanism to performing speaker normalization by modifying the power spectrum of Mel filter bank in MFCC. Also, this paper propose the hybrid VTN combined the Power spectrum warping and a frequency warping. Experiment of this paper did a comparative analysis about the recognition performance of the SKKU PBW DB applied each speaker normalization approach on baseline system. The experiment results have shown that a frequency warping is 2.06%, the power spectrum is 3.06%, and hybrid VTN is 4.07% word error rate reduction as of word recognition performance of baseline system.

Quantitative Recognition of Stable State of EEG using Wavelet Transform and Power Spectrum Analysis (웨이브렛 변환과 파워스펙트럼 분석을 통한 EEG 안정상태의 정량적 인식)

  • The EEG signal in general can be categorized as the Alpha wave, the Beta wave, the Theta wave, and the Delta wave. The alpha wave, showed in stable state, is the dominant wave for a human EEG and the beta wave displays the excited state. The subject of this paper was to recognize the stable state of EEG quantitatively using wavelet transform and power spectrum analysis. We decomposed EEG signal into the alpha wave and the beta wave in the process of wavelet transform, and calculated each power spectrum of EEG signal, using Fast Fourier Transform. And then we calculated the stable state quantitatively by stable state ratio, defined as the power spectrum of the alpha wave over that of the beta wave. The study showed that it took more than 10 minutes to reach the stable state from the normal activity in 69 % of the subjects, 5 -10 minutes in 9%, and less than 5 minutes in 16 %.

Analyzing the Emotional State EEG by Mutual Information (상호정보에 의한 감성상태 뇌파분석)

  • For understanding the information processing in human brain, we analyze the EEG, a spontaneous electric activity on the scalp of the human. In this paper, we used the mutual information to analyze EEG. The mutual information is used to show the stochastic correlation between signals which are generated in the communication and information theory. The used EEG is evoked by each auditory stimulus in positive and negative emotional states. As a result, we found thet there is some difference at the mutual information in each emotional state.

  • 인간의 뇌 정보처리를 이해하기 위한 일환으로서, 많은 연구자들이 사람의 두피에서 자발적으로 발생하는 전기 활동인 뇌파(EEG)를 분석하였다. 측정된 뇌파는 잡음처럼 보이는 비선형적인 거동으로 인하여 단순한 관찰만으로는 그 특징을 분석하기가 매우 어렵다. 따라서 이러한 뇌파를 분석하고 이해하기 위한 방법으로 파워스펙트럼, 바이스펙트럼 등과 같은 스펙트럼 분석과 상관차원, 프랙탈 차원과 같은 비선형 카오스 분석 등과 같은 해석법들이 활발히 연구되어왔다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기존의 방법 외에 두 신호사이의 통계적 의존성을 측정하는 양인 상호정보를 이용하여 뇌파의 특징을 분석하였다. 뇌파간의 상호정보 분석을 통해 두뇌에서의 정보의 흐름에 관한 특징을 알아보았고, 감성자극에 반응하는 두뇌의 활동영역을 알 수 있었다.

Derivation of EEG Spectrum-based Feature Parameters for Mental Fatigue Determination (정신적 피로 판별을 위한 뇌파 스펙트럼 기반 특징 파라미터 도출)

  • In this paper, we tried to derive characteristic parameters that reflect mental fatigue through EEG measurement and analysis. For this purpose, mental fatigue was induced through a resting state with eyes closed and performing subtraction operations in mental arithmetic for 30 minutes. Five subjects participated in the experiment, and all subjects were right-handed male students in university, with an average age of 25.5 years. Spectral analysis was performed on the EEG collected at the beginning and the end of the experiment to derive feature parameters reflecting mental fatigue. As a result of the analysis, the absolute power of the alpha band in the occipital lobe and the temporal lobe increased as the mental fatigue increased, while the relative power decreased. Also, the difference in power between resting state and task state showed that the relative power was larger than the absolute power. These results indicate that alpha relative power in the occipital lobe and temporal lobe is a feature parameter reflecting mental fatigue. The results of this study can be utilized as feature parameters for the development of an automated system for mental fatigue determination such as fatigue and drowsiness while driving.

  • 간질성 폐질환(Interstitial Lung Disease) 컴퓨터지원진단(Computer-Aided Diagnosis: CAD)시스템은 방사선의사들이 흉부 X-ray영상에서 석회화와 섬유화를 탐지하고자 적용하였다. 진단 중에 발생할 수 있는 오진율을 줄이고 간질성 폐질환이 존재하는 폐야에서 이상유무를 판단하여 검출을 표시하도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 흉부영상에서의 간질성 폐질환을 검출하기 위해 폐 텍스처(texture)의 물리적 척도를 측정하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 2차원의 푸리에 변환으로부터 얻어지는 파워스펙트럼(power spectrum) 분석에 기반을 두는 방법으로 각각의 ROI(Region Of Interest)에서 구한 평균제곱자승오차(Root Mean Sguare: RMS)와 파워스펙트럼의 첫 번갠 모멘트(Moment)는 폐 텍스처의 밀도변동의 크기(magnitude)와 섬세함(fineness)을 나타낸다. 실험결과 다양한 간질성폐질환을 가진 비정상 폐 텍스처의 RMS와 첫 번째 모멘트와는 차이가 있었다. 디지텔 흉부영상으로부터 계산되어진 정량화된 텍스처의 척도는 방사선의사의 간질성 폐 질환을 진단함에 효율적인 질환 탐지를 가능하게 하였으며 진단율을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

Analysis of Sounds from different Impact Points of Golf Driver (골프 드라이버 임팩트 위치에 따른 소리 분석)

  • This study was aimed to evaluate the characteristics of impact sound of golf driver according to impact points of its face. In order to get the consistent impact sounds, the apparatus for free golf ball drop was prepared and used. Timed amplitude patterns and maximum spectral peaks of the impact sounds were variant according to the impact points of driver face. As an alternative method of impact sound analysis, cumulative sum of spectral power (cumsum) was used to distinguish between impact sounds according to the impact positions. From the comparison of frequencies representing 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% of cumsum of impact sound, 40% cumsum frequency of the center of driver face was lower than that of the toe and the heel. This finding suggests that the impact sound from the center of driver face has higher spectral power of low frequency component than that of the toe and heel.
