Analysis of Vertical Vibration of a Passenger Car due to Road Excitation (노면가진을 받는 승용차의 진동해석)

  • 자동차는 주행시에 노면가진으로 인하여 진동을 받게 되는 데 이러한 진동 은 운전자의 승차감을 저하시킬 뿐만 아니라 화물과 차량 부품을 파손시키 는 원인이 되기도 한다. 노면가진력은 주로 현가장치를 통하여 차량에 전달 되어 차량의 진동을 유발하게 되므로 승차감을 향상시키려면 노면가진을 효 과적으로 차단할 수 있도록 현가장치를 설계하여야 한다. 이를 위하여 본 논 문에서는 차량을 현가장치의 형식에 따라 3가지 종류로 구분한 다음 각각을 12자유도로 모델링하여 노면이 불규칙(random)한 도로를 주행할 때의 승용 차의 진동을 해석하고, 현가스프링의 강성과 쇼크 압소바의 감쇠 값이 자체 수직 가속도 유효치(rms value)와 현가장치 유효행정(rms stroke length)에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 차량의 운동방정식은 현가장치의 비선형 특성을 고려하였기 때문에 미소 각 운동의 가정에도 불구하고 비선형 방정식이 된 다. 운동 방정식의 해는 4차 Runge-Kutta 적분법을 사용하여 수치해석으로 구하였다.

  • Failure cause of the fractured engine parts was analyzed by microstructural observation. These parts were failed far earlier than the expected service life. By the stereoscope and SEM examinations of the fractured surface, the fracture modes have been identified as wear and fatigue failure. From the observation of microstructure and microhardness measurements of the failed gears, the probable cause for failures are internal oxidation during using and retained austenite and carbide networks due to heat-treatment, respectively. These defected structures at near surface contributed to the wear and fatigue failure.

  • 풍력발전은 재생에너지로써 유망한 대체 에너지원으로 각광받고 있으며, 국내에서는 이미 영덕, 영양 등의 풍력단지가 가동 중에 있다. 그러나 장기간 사용되어온 터빈이 반 이상이며, 그 중에서도 바람의 영향을 많이 받는 블레이드는 끝단 Tip이 벌어지는 파손이 발생하곤 한다. Blade Field의 유지보수를 통해 수명연장이 가능하나, 형상변화로 공력특성에 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 MEXICO 터빈용 블레이드의 Tip부분에 대해서 EDISON을 활용하여, 수리로 인해 변경된 Blade의 공력특성 변화를 분석하였다. 형상변경은 상용 프로그램 Pontwise로 작업했으며, 익형 주위의 유동을 2D비압축성 유동으로 가정하고 EDISON CFD의 2D_Incomp-2.1_P solver를 수치해석을 수행하였다.

  • The failed tube received for this study has been used for approximately 10 year at $330^{\circ}C$ in a steam production boiler tube was fractured in the transversed direction to tube length, and fracture mode was typically intergranulas type without the plastic deformation. The fracture surface was covered by the oxide scale formed from the intermal high pressure steam at high temperature. The microstructure was not nearly thermal-degraded during the service. From this result, we can conclude that the oxide film was proferentialy formed into the grainboundary and this grainboundary oxide film was brittle-fractured by the thermal stress in the longitudinal direction to the tube brittle intergranular fracture mode.

  • 지중매설관은 경우에 따라 긴 수송거리를 보이기 때문에 부식 및 충격에 의한 파손 등에 대한 모니터링이 어려운 실정이다. 이러한 조건을 극복하기 위하여 복합관 및 다중관을 설치하고 있으나, 이에 대한 연구는 아직 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 발파진동원에서 고정된 이격거리, 매설심도에서 배관 상단에 특정 진동속도를 발생시키는 발파 하중을 고려하여, 이격거리에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였으며 장약량에 따른 이격거리와 발파효율을 측정하였다. 실험값과 수치해석 값의 오차는 발파지점에서 가까울수록 크게 나타났으며 발파지점과 마주보는 방향이 반대방향보다 크게 나타났다.

  • In the calendar and the advertising catalog, the surface Is usually coated by coating polypropylene film. The delamination failure of coating film depends on surface roughness and quality of the substrate paper. In this paper, the mechanisms of delamination failure between the coating film and the paper is investigated by using the root cause analysis as one of techniques of reliability evaluation. The papers used in failure analysis are three kind products made by two domestic and one foreign companies. It found that the main causes of delamination failure between the coating film and the paper were the creation of microvoids caused by shape of filler and their growth caused by contraction of paper.

  • Overloading of Commercial vehicles have been an important area of transportation as one of the main causes of pavement damage, bridge collapse, severe traffic accident, etc. In this study, we analyzed the effects of overweight prevention by analyzing overweight driving patterns and using weight sensors. First, we analyzed relevant literatures of overweight and surveyed the commercial weight sensors. Then we chose the typical type of overweight vehicles based of overweight enforcement data analysis. MEMs inclinometer weight sensor were installed to 10 test vehicles and data was collected by weight sensors and gps in real time. As a result of gross vehicle weight and axle weight analysis, it was found weight sensor could decrease overweight rate. However, since the number of samples of test vehicles is insufficient to represent the whole commercial vehicle, further studies are deemed possible through the extension test.

  • The flow forming process consists of a split process, a divide process, and a forming process. The split process is a forming process in which rollers radially permeate a simple disc-shaped forging material and split it in both directions to form a top-bottom bidirectional cup. It is advantageous for post-processing to deepen the forming depth in the split process but this characteristic causes the failure near the edge of the mandrel during the actual process. The split process was analyzed using Rigid Plastic FEM, and the stress analysis of the mandrel was conducted to find the cause of the failure. It was found that the failure occurred due to fatigue accumulation damage caused by repeated residual stress.

  • The objective of this study was to perform failure analysis of an inlet pipe located in a governor valve of a steam turbine in a district heating system. During the operation, the temperature of the governor valve was increased to as high as ~500 ℃, which induced thermal expansion of the inlet pipe along both axial and radial directions. While the inlet pipe did not have contact with the valve seat, the side plane of the upside was constrained by the casing part, which led the inlet pipe to experience stress field in the form of fatigue and creep. The primary crack was initiated at about 30 mm below the top where the complex stress field was anticipated. These results suggest that the main failure mechanism is a combination of thermal fatigue and creep during the operation supported by the observation of apparent beach marks on the fracture surface and pores near the cracks, respectively.
