A Study on the Fracture Characteristicsof Crushed Sand Concrete and River Sand Concrete (강모래 및 부순모래 콘크리트의 파괴특성에 관한 연구)

  • Thls research Includes est~mat~ons of the relat~on ktween the strength of concrete and the fracture energy for river sand concrete and crushed sand concrete using the wedge sphtting test method. Furthermore the fracture energy and the characteristic length of two types of concrete were compared and d~scussed. Fracture behaviors of crushed sand concrete and natural sand concrete had the similar trend in fracture characteristics. The fracture energy was increased with the increase of compressive strength in the strength range of 20-60MPa, but was not increased for the concrete more than 6OM.Pa of compressive strength.

  • 재료에 따라 기계적 특성들은 하중속도에 의존하는 경우가 많다. 이런 기계적 특성들 중 파괴인성은 기계구조물을 파괴 역학적으로 안전하게 설계하는 경우뿐만 아니라, 운전되고 있는 기계 건전성의 측면에서 매우 중요한 파라미터이다. 또한 파괴인성은 작용하는 하중의 속도에 따라 정적파괴인성($K_{IC}$)과 동적파괴인성($K_{ID}$)으로 구분하고 이들의 측정 방법과 인성의 크기 또한 매우 상이하다. 동적파괴인성의 평가방법으로는 광탄성법, 모아레법 및 스트레인게이법을 이용한 충격실험방법들이 이용되고 있다.

  • 본 연구는 $SF_6$를 대체하기 위한 건조공기(Dry-Air)의 특성을 연구할 목적으로 교류고전압 인가 시 압력(P)변화 및 갭 길이의 변화에 따른 절연파괴특성을 연구하였다. 본 연구를 통해 챔버 내의 P가 증가할수록 절연파괴 특성은 증가하는 것을 확인했다. 그리고 불평등전계 보다 평등전계에서 절연파괴특성이 더 증가하고 전극간거리(d)가 증가할수록 절연파괴특성이 증가하는 것을 확인했다.

Study on Elecrtical Characteristics of Gate Oxide with Electrode Materials and Oxidation Ambients (전극 재료와 산화분위기에 따른 게이트 산화막의 전기적 특성에 관한 특성)

  • 건식, 습식, 건식/습식 산화분위기로 성장한 게이트 산화막 위에 AI, 인 도핑된 다결정시리콘, 비정질 실리콘/인 도핑된 다결정 실리콘을 증착하여 제작한 금속-산화물-반도체(metal-oxide-semiconductor:MOS)의 전기적 특성을 순간 절연파괴(TZDB), 정전용량-전압(C-V)과 경시절연파괴(TDDB)로 평가하였다. AI 게이트에서 습식산화막과 건식산화막의 평균 파괴전계는 각각 9.0MV/cm, 7.7MV/cm이였고, 습식산화막의 평균 파괴전계가 8.4MV/cm 이였으며, AI 게이트보다 0.6MV/cm 정도 낮았다. 이것은 다결정 실리콘/습식산화막 계면에서 인(phosphorus) 확산으로 다결정 실리콘의 grain 성장과 산화막의 migration에 의한 roughness 증가에 기인한다. 그러나 다결정 실리콘/건식산화막 계면에서 roughness 증가는 없었다. 다결정 실리콘 게이트에서는 건식/습식 산화막이 건식산화막과 습식산화막보다 평균 파괴전계와 절연파괴전하(QBD)가 높았다. 또한 다결정/비정질 실리콘 게이트에서는 습식산화막의 평균 파괴전계가 8.8MV/cm이였으며, 다결정 실리콘 게이트에서보다 0.4MV/cm 정도 높았다. 다결정/비정질 실리콘 구조는 앞으로 VLSI 적용에 있어서 게이트 전극으로 매우 유용할 것이다.

  • An investigation was performed to study the predicting the joint strength of mechanical fasteners. Bearing failure is most important failure mode for designing joint. So in this study, the prediction method in consideration with bearing failure was chosen. In the proposed method, the characteristic length is combined with the Yamada-Sun failure criterion, Tsai-Hill failure criterion and characteristic length for Tension and Compression is determined from investigation. Especially the length of compression is determined from the "bearing failure test" that newly conceived to take bearing failure into consideration. The proposed prediction method was applied to quasi-isotropic carbon/epoxy joint showing net-tension and bearing failure experimentally. Good agreement was found between the predicted and experimental result for each joint geometry. geometry.

Fracture Properties of High Strength Concrete Disk with Center-Crack (중앙에 노치가 있는 고강도 콘크리트 디스크의 파괴특성)

  • It is difficult to obtain accurate fracture toughness values using three point bending test(TPB) proposed by RILEM committees because the shape of load-deflection curve is irregular and final crack propagation occurs after some slow stable cracking. However, fracture toughness is easily obtained from crack initiation load in the disk test. In this paper, the fracture properties of high strength concrete disks with center-crack was investigated. For this purpose, the experimental results were compared with the results by finite element analysis(FEA). And the experimental fracture locus was compared with theoretical fracture locus. Also, the results of fracture properties for the degree of concrete strength are presented. It is concluded from this study that results from FEA with maximum stress theory were compared well with the results from experiment. And the degree of concrete strength was contributed to the crack initiation load and fracture toughness, but was not contributed to the failure angle. Also, The discrepancy of fracture locus between the maximum stress theory and the experiment for concrete is considered to depend upon a large energy requirement for inducing the mixed-mode and sliding mode fractures.

  • This paper describes the effect of various conditions of the ribs on the breakdown characteristics when metal particle is attached to the spacer in GIS. More improved spacer shape in breakdown characteristics than conventional one is proposed by comparing the results acquired by varying location, length and thickness of the ribbed spacer. As a result, it was found that the electrical breakdown characteristics of the spacer with two ribs were generally better than that with only one rib or no ribs, and it was dependent on the rib length and rib thickness. Especially, it was also confirmed that the electrical breakdown characteristics were more improved by rounding the rib edge.

  • Laminated rubber bearing is the most commonly used device for seismic base isolation of bridge structures. It is important to know performance and behavior characteristics of the laminated rubber bearings. The main evaluation factors of the rubber bearing are classified as compressive, shear and tensile behavior characteristics. The reference data of compressive and shear characteristics are rich, but the reference data of tensile characteristics is scarce. In this study, tensile test results of the rubber bearing with variation of shape factor and shear deformation are investigated for mechanical property. When tensile deformation in normal condition is increasing, tensile cycle behavior curve becomes non-linear and tensile breaking point is 300%. On the other hand, tensile breaking point is shear deformation condition is about 40%. Furthermore, when shape factor is lower, tensile breaking point is decrease. This results mean that tensile breaking point is decreased in triaxial tensile deformation because of cracks caused by internal void of the rubber bearings. This experimental data can be used as the reference data of tensile characteristics for designing seismic isolation of structures.

Slope Failure Index System Based on the Behavior Characteristics : SFi-system (거동 특성에 따른 사면 파괴 지수 시스템 : SFi-system)

  • Failure of the cut slope is triggered by combination of internal and extemal failure factors. Internal failure factors are related to geological and geometrical conditions of slope itself, and natural and/or artificial loadings on slope can be the external failure factors. Influences of these failure factors show different intensity according to the ground condition and are controlled by behavior characters of the slope. In this study, the soil depth ratio(SR), block size ratio(BR) and rock strength are used as the criteria to divide ground condition based on behavior characteristics. Ground condition of the slope is divided into discontinuous jointed rock mass and continuos soil-like mass, highly fractured rock mass and massive rock mass by the criteria(SR and BR). The SFi-system is a rating system to determine the slope failure index(SFi) by analyzing internal and external factors based on classification of the ground condition. The results of the SFi-system application to the real cut slopes show close relationship between the SFi value and potential or dimension of the failure. Therefore, the SFi-system can be used as a useful tool to predict and analyze the characteristic of the slope failure.
