  • The purpose of this study was to identify types of perceptions regarding the activation of physical activities for individuals living in disability residential facilities using Q methodology and to derive implications based on these findings. To achieve this, an open-ended survey was first conducted with prior research, field experts, and specialists in adapted physical education to create a total of 25 Q statements. Subsequently, a Q sorting was conducted with 22 facility staff members, and the results were analyzed using the PQ Method 2.3.5 program. The analysis revealed three types: government support, expansion of disability sports facilities, and consensus building. It was confirmed that expanding physical facilities that actively support participation in physical activities through government support and improving societal perceptions of disability sports activities are crucial for enhancing physical activities in disability residential facilities. These research results provide a basis for policy documents and direction setting for future activation of physical activities in disability welfare facilities.

As a measuring tool, Kwon (2008) and Han (2011) questionnaire for adapted physical education educators' perceived teacher competency and Oh, Seo & Kozub's (2010) questionnaire on the emotion reaction towards challenging behaviors of students with disabilities were revised, modified, and reconstructed. Data was processed using SPSS 21.0, and the exploratory factor analysis, reliability verification, difference verification, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results are as follows. First, in terms of the analysis of emotion reaction based on demographic characteristics (sex, grade, disability in the family, friends with disabilities), sex, grade, and friends with disabilities displayed statistically significant difference on emotion reactions. Second, in terms of the effects of adapted physical education educators' perceived teacher competencies on the emotion reactions on towards challenging behaviors of students with disabilities, the parental education and the special activities of adapted physical education among the sub-factors of perceived teacher competencies affected significantly on emotion reactions, whereas the common knowledge on adapted physical education, curriculum lesson, and education knowledge by disability did not affect significantly on emotion reactions.

Method of this study indicates that the current literature (2004-2015) were reviewed and the data from 24 studies with 518 disabled children were analyzed by using CMA3 (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis ver.3) program. Analyzing the data of the primary studies included gender, age, type of disabilities, duration of the physical activity program intervention(weeks, session per week, minutes per session), run, gallop, hop, leap, horizontal jump, and slide. For sensitivity analysis, publication bias and outlier were reviewed. Results of analysis indicates that the overall effect size of improvement in locomotor skills by physical activity programs was 1.143. There were large effect size in categorical analyses. Autistic spectrum among type of disabilities was 1.697 and run among 6 of locomotor skills was 1.019. 8~10 aged was 0.920 and the intervention of 100~120minutes(1.261)per session, 3sessions(1.078) per week, 16~20(1.587)weeks was found to be more larger than the others. In conclusion, improvement in locomotor skills by program participation showed that treated group was 37% more effective than control group.
