This study aimed to understand how people perceive the transition from offline to online classes at universities during the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve the goal, we collected tweets related to online classes on Twitter and performed sentiment and time series topic analysis. We have the following findings. First, through the sentiment analysis, we found that there were more negative than positive opinions overall, but negative opinions had gradually decreased over time. Through exploring the monthly distribution of sentiment scores of tweets, we found that sentiment scores during the semesters were more widespread than the ones during the vacations. Therefore, more diverse emotions and opinions were showed during the semesters. Second, through time series topic analysis, we identified five main topics of positive tweets that include class environment and equipment, positive emotions, places of taking online classes, language class, and tests and assignments. The four main topics of negative tweets include time (class & break time), tests and assignments, negative emotions, and class environment and equipment. In addition, we examined the trends of public opinions on online classes by investigating the changes in topic composition over time through checking the proportions of representative keywords in each topic. Different from the existing studies of understanding public opinions on online classes, this study attempted to understand the overall opinions from tweet data using sentiment and time series topic analysis. The results of the study can be used to improve the quality of online classes in universities and help universities and instructors to design and offer better online classes.
Twitter has the fast propagation and diffusion of information compare to other SNS. Therefore, many researches about detecting real-time event using twitter are progressing. Twitter real-time event detecting system assumes every twitter user as a sensor and analyzes their written tweet in order to detect the event. Researches that are related to this twitter have already obtained good results but confronted the limits because of some problems. Especially, many existing researches are using the method that can trace an event location by using GPS coordinate. However, it can be suggested a definite limitation through the present user's skeptical responses about making personal location information public. Therefore, this paper suggests the method that traces the location information in tweet contents text without using the provided location information from twitter. Associated words were grouped by using the keyword that extracted in tweet contents text. The place that the events have occurred and whether the events have surely occurred are detected by this experiment using this algorithm. Furthermore, this experiment demonstrated the necessity of the suggested methods by showing faster detection compare to the other existing media.

Opinion mining is a way to analyze the emotions in the text and is used to identify the emotional state of the author and to find out the opinions of the public. As you can analyze individual emotions through opinion mining, if you analyze the text by region, you can find out the emotional state you have in each region. The regional sentiment analysis can obtain information that could not be obtained from personal sentiment analysis, and if a certain area has emotions, it can understand the cause. For regional sentiment analysis, we need text data created by region, so we need to collect data through Twitter crawling. Therefore, this paper designs a Twitter data collection system for regional sentiment analysis. The client requests the tweet data of the specific region and time, and the server collects and transmits the requested tweet data from the client. Through the latitude and longitude values of the region, it collects the tweet data of the area, and it can manage the text by region and time through collected data. We expect efficient data collection and management for emotional analysis through the design of this system.
SNS data can catch the user's thoughts and actions. And the trend of the search portal is a representative service that can observe the interests of users and their changes. In this paper, the relationship was analyzed by comparing statistics on narcotics incidents and the degree of exposure to narcotics related words in tweets of SNS and in the trends of search portal. It was confirmed that the trend of SNS and search portal trends was the same in the statistics of the prosecution office with a certain time difference. In addition, cluster analysis was performed to understand the meaning of tweets in which narcotics related words were mentioned. In the 50,000 tweets collected in January 2020, it was possible to find meaning related to the sale of actual drugs. Therefore, through SNS monitoring alone it is possible to monitor narcotics-related incidents and to find specific sales or purchase-related information, and this can be used in the investigation process. In the future, it is expected that crime monitoring and prediction systems can be proposed as related crime analysis may be possible not only with text but also images.
Recently, social network service (SNS) is actively used by public. Among them, Twitter has a lot of tweets including sentiment and it is convenient to collect data through open Aplication Programming Interface (API). In this paper, we analyze social issues and suggest the possibility of using them in marketing through sentimental information of users. In this paper, we collect twitter text about social issues and classify as positive or negative by sentiment classifier to provide qualitative analysis. We provide a quantitative analysis by analyzing the correlation between the number of like and retweet of each tweet. As a result of the qualitative analysis, we suggest solutions to attract the interest of the public or consumers. As a result of the quantitative analysis, we conclude that the positive tweet should be brief to attract the users' attention on the Twitter. As future work, we will continue to analyze various social issues.

This study investigates the contents of twitters serviced by metropolitans and citizens' questions to propose improvements. Using content analysis as a research method, this study recorded and analyzed all the tweets of six metropolitans (Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju) for three months. As the results, the frequency analysis of tweets revealed that Busan posted more tweets than other cities, and Seoul posted the highest number of tweet using URL link. The results of content analysis showed that the most frequently provided information from tweeters was about convenience of citizens living. Tweets using URL link were focused on information about citizen living, prize contest, and service announcement. Citizens had a request for information about their life and traffic. For public information service using tweeter in the future, this study provided several important suggestions.
As the use of SNS continues to increase, various related studies have been conducted. According to the effectiveness of the topic model for existing theme extraction, a huge number of related research studies on topic model based analysis have been introduced. In this research, we suggested an automation system to analyze topics of each country and its distribution in twitter by combining world map visualization and issue matching method. The core system components are the following three modules; 1) collection of tweets and classification by nation, 2) extraction of topics and distribution by country based on topic model algorithm, and 3) visualization of topics and distribution based on Google geochart. In experiments with USA and UK, we could find issues of the two nations and how they changed. Based on these results, we could analyze the differences of each nation's position on ISIS problem.
With the huge success of Social Network Services, studies on social network analysis to extract the current issues or to track the symptoms of epidemic disease are being carried out actively. On Twitter, tweets reflect people's reaction to an event and users' individual status well, so it is possible to detect an event regarding a tweet as a sensory value. Recently, social signals are used to detect the spread of illness like the flu as well as the occurrence of disaster event like an earthquake in early stages. In this paper, we set up a cold as a target event and regarded tweets as Cold Signals. To evaluate the reliability of Cold Signals, we analyzed correlations between weather factors and the cold index provided by Korea Meteorological Administration.

In 1995, the filming location of the drama had been famous, and as a result it brings the effect of increasing tourists of that areas. After that, many local governments try to host the filming on their regions to be potential tourist attractions. With the same stream, Jeonju also has attempted to host International Film Festival and to set up Jeonju Film Commission and Jeonju Cinema Complex. However, although the city already has rich infrastructure facilities to make films, the city hardly tries to use the filming locations as tourist attractions. This study suggests four ways of using filming locations as tourist attractions to activate Jeonju economy and improve Jeonju's cultural image. We firstly collect social bigdata related with tourists of filming locations and tourist attractions in Jeonju from Twitter, which is the most representative SNS, and then perform frequency and trend analysis. We also investigate major factors of visits to tourist's attractions based on content analysis of tweet mentions.
