Development of A Software Tool for Automatic Trim Steel Design of Press Die Using CATIA API (CATIA API를 활용한 프레스금형 트림스틸 설계 자동화 S/W 모듈 개발)

  • This paper focuses on the development of a supporting S/W tool for the automated design of an automotive press trim die. To define the die design process based on automation, we analyze the press die design process of the current industry and group repetitive works in the 3D modeling process. The proposed system consists of two modules, namely the template models of the trim steel parts and UI function for their auto-positioning. Four kinds of template models are developed to adapt to various situations and the rules of the interaction formula which are used for checking and correcting the directions of the datum point, datum curve, datum plane are implemented to eliminate errors. The system was developed using CATIA Knowledgeware, CAA(CATIA SDK) and Visual C++, in order for it to function as a plug-in module of CATIA V5, which is one of the major 3D CAD systems in the manufacturing industry. The developed system was tested by applying it to various panels of current automobiles and the results showed that it reduces the time-cost by 74% compared to the traditional method.

Countermeasures for reduction for CO2 emission from training ship (운항실습선에 적용한 CO2 배출량 저감대책)

  • As the seriousness of global environment pollution is gaining increasing public attention, research into greenhouse gas emissions of ships is being carried out globally. At a domestic level, however, in a number of significant fields such research has not been conducted to date. This study examined countermeasures for the reduction of $CO_2$ emission in the fields of electronic control engines, trim optimization, propeller polishing, hull cleaning, and anti-fouling paint using an actual sea-going vessel. Selected countermeasures were applied during sea trials of the ship and the effect of specific fuel oil consumption analyzed. It was found that each countermeasure resulted in a decrease of fuel consumption of 1~5%. The energy efficiency operational indicator (EEOI) was calculated and found to also be improved by 1~5%. Further research into the EEOI of domestic shipping is planned to enhance conformance with international environmental regulations and improve global competitiveness.

  • In this paper, we show that the shrinking generator with two LFSR whose characteristic polynomials are primitive is an interleaving generator and analyze phase shifts in shrunken sequence. Also for a given intercepted sequence of shrunken sequence, we propose. the method of reconstructing some deterministic bits of the shrunken sequence using phase shifts.

  • 최근 우리사회는 다양한 형태의 여가활동 및 생활체육에 대한 국민적 욕구와 열망과 더불어서, IoT기술발전 및 시장확대에 힘입어 다양한 스마트 자전거 제품이 등장하고 있다. 그러나 기존 제품의 경우 속도계 장치에 의한 주행기록을 분석할 수 없고, 스마트폰 앱의 경우에는 정확한 데이터 측정이 불가능하다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여, 본 논문에서 개발한 스마트 자전거는 마그네틱 센서를 이용하여 거리, 속도, 시간 등을 측정/분석하고, 라이딩 정보를 어플리케이션에 저장하여 사용자가 라이딩 정보를 언제든 살펴볼 수 있다. 또한, 라이딩 속도에 따라서 LED의 색상이 변경되어 익스트림 라이딩 모드 및 LED제어, 스마트 자물쇠 기능 등을 제공한다.

  • Multipath ATM switch architectures have the potential to accommodate easily the design of high-speed and large capacity ATM switches which can handle a very large amount of switching throughputs. However, the multipath architecture inevitably encounters out-of-sequence problems. We propose a multipath switch model to analyze the out-of-sequence phenomenon. And we analyze the out-of-sequence performance dependency on the architecture parameters : the number of multipath, the trunk utilization, the switch size, and the number virtual channels/trunk.   • Modern aircraft are high-performance and lightweight. Thus, the characteristics of the flexible structure appear and affect flight performance or limit it. These flexible characteristics need to be analyzed from the early stages of aircraft design. To this end, a program to analyze the dynamic and static behavior of flexible aircraft has been developed and the results are presented. Based on the multi-body dynamics simulation technique, rigid flight mechanics, structural vibrating behavior, and unsteady aerodynamics have been developed and integrated. Lastly, the level flight and the turn flight of the flexible characteristic aircraft have been analyzed using this integrated simulation program.

  • This paper proposes JBSTBC (Joint Beamforming Space-Time Block Coding) scheme for MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) communication systems. To enhance the order of spatial diversity in presence of deteriorative fading correlations as well as inter-substream interferences, the proposed JBSTBC method employs joint eigen-beamforming technique together with the BOLD (block-ordered layered detector) for MIMO-STBC. In order to confirm superiority of the proposed JBSTBC method, the computer simulations are conducted in highly correlated fading situations with providing detailed mathematical derivations for clarifying functionality of the proposed scheme.

  • The structure of steady wave system is considered which is admitted by the continuum equations for materials that undergo phase transformations with exothermic chemical reaction. With its theoretical basis in one-dimensional continuum shock structure analysis, the present approach estimates the micro-width of waves associated with phase transformation phenomena, n-heptane is selected as the hydrocarbon fuel for evaporation and condensation analysis while HMX is used for melting and freezing analysis of solid rocket propellant. The estimated thickness of evaporation - condensation front of n-heptane is on the order of $10^{-2}$ micron while the HMX melting - freezing front thickness is estimated at 1 micron.

  • The primary objective of the current work is to develop efficient numerical code to assess the resistance performance of the twin hull form. Resistance performance for the two different twin hull forms with asymmetric and symmetric mono hull using developed code are evaluated. Numerical calculations and model tests have been compared to validate a developed code used in the current work. Comparison were carried out through sinkages of the bow and stern, trim angle and wave-making resistance. Comparative analysis regarding hydrodynamic characteristic of different twin hull forms is worthy of application in the hull form development stage.

A Study on Reward-based Home-training App Users Using a Cash-cow User Prediction Model (캐시카우 사용자 예측 모델을 통한 리워드형 홈트레이닝 앱의 운영 및 관리 전략에 관한 연구)

  • Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the home-training app market is growing rapidly and numerous apps are entering the market. It is becoming more difficult for an app to secure the profitability. In this study, by analyzing actual user data of a reward-based home-training app, we propose a model that predicts cash-cow users of the app. Cash-cow users are the users who watch in-stream ads to watch training videos although they cannot earn any rewards by doing so. Thus, these users make profits for the app yet do not incur any costs. The results of this study show that the users who irregularly watch training videos are more likely to be cash-cow users than the users who regularly watch training videos. This result suggests that, paradoxically, for sustainable profitability, home-training apps may need to find a way to retain the users who watch training videos irregularly so that they can be satisfied with the service and continue use the apps.
