  • Recently, there are many of studies on SWRL reasoning engine based on user-defined rules in a distributed environment using a large-scale ontology. Unlike the schema based axiom rules, efficient inference orders cannot be defined in SWRL rules. There is also a large volumet of network shuffled data produced by unnecessary iterative processes. To solve these problems, in this study, we propose a method that uses Map-Reduce algorithm and distributed in-memory framework to deduce multiple rules simultaneously and minimizes the volume data shuffling occurring between distributed machines in the cluster. For the experiment, we use WiseKB ontology composed of 200 million triples and 36 user-defined rules. We found that the proposed reasoner makes inferences in 16 minutes and is 2.7 times faster than previous reasoning systems that used LUBM benchmark dataset.

  • With the development of the semantic web, a large amount of data being produced nowadays is in RDF format. RDF is represented by a triple. An RDF database consisting of triples requires the high cost of join query processing. Materialized view is known as a scheme to reduce the query processing cost by accessing materialized views without accessing the database. It is physically stored the results or the intermediate results of the query processing in a storage area. In this paper, we propose a materialized view selection scheme by using decision tree to solve such a problem. The decision tree considers the size and maintenance costs of the materialized view as well as the profit of query response times. It is shown through performance evaluation that the proposed scheme increases the number of materialized views in the limited storage space and decreases the update rates of the materialized views.

  • A large diameter sampler was developed to take undisturbed samples from not only soft ground but also sandy and weathered ground. The large diameter sampler which was developed in Korea Institute of Construction Technology(KICT-type large diameter sampler) was manufactured based on the principle of triple core barrel sampling. A specially designed cutting device was used to cut and contain various kinds of samples in the sampler during a sampling and retrieval procedure. By adjusting the stiffness of the spring located at the top of the sampler, the distance between the cutting shoe and auger can be controlled in accordance with the ground condition. In order to investigate the applicability of the developed sampler and compare the quality of the samples taken by the sampler with that by the traditional thin-walled tube sampler, samples were taken at various sites according to the ground condition. And a series of laboratory tests such as the unconfined compress ion test, triaxial compression test, oedometer test, large diameter Rowe cell consolidation test (D: 150 mm) were performed. The test results showed that the samples by the KICT-type large diameter sampler show higher quality than the samples by the thin-walled tube sampler. And the validity and applicability of the developed KICT-type large diameter sampler was confirmed accordingly.

  • In this study, the performance of group suction anchors installed in sand and subjected to pullout loading was investigated by numerical analysis. The group suction anchors consist of two or three units rigidly connected to each other in parallel array and the pullout resistances were compared with that of a single anchor. Parametric study was performed using numerical models to study the effect of the physical conditions of the group anchor. The parameters include the skirt length to diameter ratio of a unit suction anchor, the pad-eye location, inclination of loading and the spacing between unit suction anchors. The analysis shows that the ratios of the pullout capacity of double suction anchor and triple suction anchor to that of single anchor are 1.7 and 2.4, respectively. The ratio increases with the increase in the spacing between the unit anchors. The other parameters such as the skirt length to the diameter ratio, the location of the pad-eye and the loading inclination have negligible effect on the ratio of pullout resistances of the group anchor to the single anchor.

  • Presently, the demand for IPTV, to satisfy a variety of goals, is exploding. IPTV is coming into the spotlight as a killer application in upcoming IP convergence networks such as triple play which is the delivery of voice, internet, and video service to a subscriber. IPTV utilizes CAS, which controls the subscriber access to content for a profit. Although the current CAS scheme provides access control via subscriber authentication, there is no authentication scheme for the content transmitted from service providers. Thus, there is a vulnerability of security, through which an adversary can forge content between the service provider and subscribers and distribute malicious content to subscribers. In this paper, based on a hash tree scheme, we proposed efficient and strong source authentication protocols which remove the vulnerability of the current IPTV system. We also evaluate our protocol from a view of IPTV requirements.

  • The silyltriflates$(Ph_{3-n}SiH(OTf)_n)$have been produced by the reaction of triphenylsilane and triflic acid$(CF_3SO_3H)$at low temperature. These highly reactive compounds are a valuable reagent for the synthesis of numerous new functional substituted silane derivatives. The reaction of silyltriflates with alkenyl- and alkynylmagnesium bromide as well as organolithium compounds gave new silanes$Ph_2SiHR(R=\;C(CPh,\;CH=CH_2,\;CH_2CH=CH_2,\; (CH_2)_2CH=CH_2,\;(CH_2)_3CH=CH_2)$in high yields. The hydrosilation of prepared alkenyl- and alkynylsilanesPh_2SiHR$in the presence of a platinum catalyst(Pt/C) at high temperature$(200{\circ}C)$gave carbosilane polymers$((Ph_2SiCH=CPh)_n$and$(Ph_2Si(CH_2)m)n;\;m=2∼4, n{\ge}10)$along with five- and six-membered silaalkane ring compounds derived from intramolecular hydrosilation reactions. All of the prepared compounds are confirmed by NMR, UV, IR and mass spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis.

  • In recent years, there has been a need for techniques for large-scale ontology inference in order to infer new knowledge from existing knowledge at a high speed, and for a diversity of semantic services. With the recent advances in distributed computing, developments of ontology inference engines have mostly been studied based on Hadoop or Spark frameworks on large clusters. Parallel programming techniques using GPGPU, which utilizes many cores when compared with CPU, is also used for ontology inference. In this paper, by combining the advantages of both techniques, we propose a new method for reasoning large RDFS ontology data using a Spark in-memory framework and inferencing distributed data at a high speed using GPGPU. Using GPGPU, ontology reasoning over high-capacity data can be performed as a low cost with higher efficiency over conventional inference methods. In addition, we show that GPGPU can reduce the data workload on each node through the Spark cluster. In order to evaluate our approach, we used LUBM ranging from 10 to 120. Our experimental results showed that our proposed reasoning engine performs 7 times faster than a conventional approach which uses a Spark in-memory inference engine.

  • It is the basic studies for productivity improvement and laborsaving of purse seine fishery. Because the seine shape is apt to be transformed in seine shooting process due to the effect of tide, this study is intended to establish 4 steps, whose flow velocity are 0, 2, 4 and 6cm/sec, in flume tank and perform the experiment to review the character. We used two model seines designed on the scale of 1 to 180 based on the power block seine, which is the mackerel purse seine generally used in the near sea of Jeju Island and triplex seine, which is the mackerel purse seine of one boat system fishing expected in the future, for the experiment, analyzed of the sinking movements on the two seines and its results are as follows. In the setting over the flow velocity 6cm/sec, experiment was impossible because of flying and transformation of seine were severe. The sinking movements of P seine and T seine generally showed linear phenomenon and the sinking speed showed gentle curve shape. Sinking tendency was distinguished by existence of flow velocity. When there is flow velocity, it showed the phenomenon that it sinking by similar type. Although sinking depth and sinking speed did not show distinguished classification, P seine shows bigger than T seine. When there was in flow velocity, the elapsed time(Et) and sinking depth (PDp, TDp) of P seine and T seine can be shown such experimental equations as PDp=(0.21V+4.96)Et-(0.62V-0.10) and TDp=(0.19V+4.95)Et-(0.72V+0.34). When there was in flow velocity, the elapsed time and siking speed (PSp, TSp) of P seine and T seine can be shown such experimental equations as $PSp=-0.11Et^2+1.42Et+1.75\;and\;TSp=-0.11Et^2+1.41Et+1.37$.

  • Are intentions important in deciding the outcome of an action such as sharing misinformation among social media users during the pandemic? What is their role and how far they are important for the very act of fake sharing news? The social media users' actions on the social platform are determined by what they plan to do themselves; however, their motivation has an immense role to play in the dissemination of fake news on social media. The study proposes a conceptual model for understanding how select factors affect fake news sharing motivation and intentions of social media users. The study scrutinizes the relationship between content and context, fear of missing out (FoMO), news verification and news sharing gratification on the motivation and intention of social media users of networked Asian society. Empirical Data were drawn from social media users (N = 243) from India, using an online questionnaire based on prior studies and structural equation modeling (SEM) approach was used to analyze the data collected. Results indicate that news content, news verification, and news sharing gratification have a direct and positive relationship with sharing motivation. On the other hand, news context and content, FoMO and news sharing gratification have a positive significant relationship with sharing intention. Likewise, it was discovered that news verification will decrease sharing intention of the social media users. However, news context, that is the pandemic in the case of the present study and FoMO were not identified as determinant variables for sharing motivation among social media users. The research limitations and further scope were discussed.
