Geometric Transform-Invariant Gait Recognition Using Modified Radon Transform (변형된 라돈 변환을 이용한 기하학적 형태 불변 보행인식)

  • This paper presents a scale and rotation-invariant gait recognition method using R-transform, which is computed by projecting squared coefficients of Radon transform. Since R-transform is invariant to translation, rotation, and scaling, it particularly suitable for extracting object poses without camera calibration. Coefficients of R-transform are used to compute correlation, and the maximum correlation value determines the similarity between two gait images. The proposed method requires neither camera calibration nor geometric compensation, and as a result, it makes robust gait recognition possible without additional compensation for translation, rotation, and scaling.

Estimating Geometric Transformation of Planar Pattern in Spherical Panoramic Image (구면 파노라마 영상에서의 평면 패턴의 기하 변환 추정)

  • A spherical panoramic image does not conform to the pin-hole camera model, and, hence, it is not possible to utilize previous techniques consisting of plane-to-plane transformation. In this paper, we propose a new method to estimate the planar geometric transformation between the planar image and a spherical panoramic image. Our proposed method estimates the transformation parameters for latitude, longitude, rotation and scaling factors when the matching pairs between a spherical panoramic image and a planar image are given. A planar image is projected into a spherical panoramic image through two steps of nonlinear coordinate transformations, which makes it difficult to compute the geometric transformation. The advantage of using our method is that we can uncover each of the implicit factors as well as the overall transformation. The experiment results show that our proposed method can achieve estimation errors of around 1% and is not affected by deformation factors, such as the latitude and rotation.

  • As digital contents based on 3D graphics are increased, the requirement for low power 3D graphic hardware for mobile devices is increased. We design a transformation engine for mobile 3D graphic processor. We propose a simplified transformation engine for mobile 3D graphic processor. The area of the transformation engine is reduced by merging a mapping transformation unit into a projective transformation unit and by replacing a clipping unit with a selection unit. It consists of a viewing transformation unit a projective transformation unit a divide by w nit, and a selection unit. It can process 32 bit floating point format of the IEEE-754 standard or a reduced 24 bit floating point format. It has a pipelined architecture so that a vertex is processed every 4 cycles except for the initial latency. The RTL code is verified using an FPGA.

  • 본 논문에서는 색상정보를 이용한 얼굴 검출 알고리즘에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 여러 개의 얼굴 검출에 적용되는 이 알고리즘은 피부색의 학습 과정과 입력영상에 대한 얼굴 검출 과정으로 크게 두 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 특히 본 연구에서는 피부색이 본 논문에서 제안한 새로운 RGB 영역에서 직선을 이루는 특징을 이용하여 학습 data를 구성한다. 이렇게 구성된 data를 입력영상에 적용함으로써 1차 얼굴 후보영역을 결정한다. 그런 후 1차 후보영역을 세로방향과 가로방향으로 투영시킴으로써 최종 얼굴 영역을 찾아낸다. 실험을 통해 이 알고리즘은 기존의 색상정보를 이용한 얼굴검출 방법에 비해 얼굴 개수에 상관없이 높은 검출 성공률을 보여주었다.

  • 정확하고 경제성 있는 지형정보의 구축은 각종건설공사를 비롯한 국토종합개발에 기본 요건으로서 그 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 충남 북 인원의 11개 삼각점에 대한 GPS 관측을 수행하여 산출된 WGS84 좌표를 Bessel 타원체 상의 좌표로 변환하고 TM 및 UTM 투영 도법을 적용, GPS에 의한 3차원 지형정보의 획득은 물론 지도제작을 위한 기본자료로 산출하고자 한다.

  • 이 논문은 사람과 컴퓨터간의 편리한 인터페이스를 제공하기 위 사람의 머리 동작을 자동적으로 인식하는 것을 목적으로 8 가지의 기본적인 대리 동작들을 확률적 문법 추론을 이용하여 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 시스템의 입력 데이터로 쓰여지는 머리의 실세계 3 차원 좌표들을 일정간격으로 양자화한 후, 각각 xy, zy 평면에 투영하고, 이들을 다시 4 방향 코딩하여 확률적 문법 추론법에 적합한 입력형식으로 변환한다. 이에 대해 확률적 문법 추론법을 적용한 결과 대리 동작인식에 대해 효과적으로 이용될 수 있음을 실험결과를 통해 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 POSC 기반의 3D 메쉬 워터마킹 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서는 3D 메쉬를 두 가지의 제약 조건 집합으로 수렴 조건을 만족할 때까지 반복 투영한다. 이들 집합은 워터마크를 삽입하기 위한 강인성 집합 및 비가시성 집합으로 구성된다. 원 모델없이 워터마크를 추출하기 위하여 제안한 방법에서는 워터마크가 삽입되는 위치 정보 및 결정치를 이용한다. 실험 결과로부터 제안한 방법이 메쉬 간단화, 절단, 아핀 변환, 및 랜덤 잡음 첨가 등의 공격에 우수한 강인성을 가짐을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Possibility of Producing a Floor Plan of 「Donggwoldo(東闕圖)」 through the Use of Rubber Sheeting Transformation - With a Focus on the Surroundings near the Geumcheongyo Bridge in Changdeokgung Palace - (러버쉬팅변환을 통한 「동궐도(東闕圖)」의 평면도 제작 가능성 연구 - 창덕궁 금천교 주변을 중심으로 -)

  • The present study attempted to produce the floor plan of the surroundings near Geumcheongyo Bridge in Changdeokgung Palace of the Late Joseon Period through the use of rubber sheeting transformation based on the drawing principles of "Donggwoldo(東闕圖)". First, the study compared the actual sizes of the major buildings that have existed since the production of "Donggwoldo(東闕圖)" with the sizes depicted in the picture to reveal that the front elevation of the buildings was produced by reducing it by approximately 1/200. However, the study could not confirm the same production proportions for the side elevation. Only the lengths of the side elevation were depicted at around half of the actual proportions, and as the diagonal line angles were found to be at an average of $39^{\circ}$, the study confirmed they were drawn in a manner similar to cabinet projection. Second, the study created an obliquely projected floor plan by inversely shadowing the drawing principles of "Donggwoldo(東闕圖)" and produced a floor plan of the surroundings near Geumcheongyo Bridge in Changdeokgung Palace through the use of rubber sheeting transformation. Projective transformation was confirmed as most suitable during the transformation, and with standard error of 2.1208m, the relatively high accuracy of the transformation shows that the production of a floor plan for "Donggwoldo(東闕圖)" is significant. Furthermore, it implies the possibility of producing floor plans for various documentary paintings produced using the paralleled oblique drawing method in addition to "Donggwoldo(東闕圖)". Third, the study evaluated the accuracy of the spatial information provided by the produced floor plan by comparing the three items of Geumcheongyo Bridge location, Geumcheongyo Bridge and Jinseonmun Gate arrangement, and Geumcheon stone embankment location. The results confirmed the possibility of utilizing the floor plan as a useful tool which helps understand the appearance of the surroundings at the time of "Donggwoldo(東闕圖)" production because it is parallel to the excavation results of the Geumcheongyo Bridge and its context. Therefore, the present study is significant in that it seeks the possibility of producing spatial information recorded in "Donggwoldo(東闕圖)" by applying rubber sheeting transformation and consequently in that it presents a new methodology for understanding the appearance of the East Palace of the Late Joseon Period.

Conversion of Fisheye Image to Perspective Image Using Nonlinear Scaling Function (비선형 스케일링 함수를 이용한 어안 영상의 원근 변환)

  • The fisheye image acquired with a fisheye camera has wider field of view than a general use camera. But large distortion of the object in the image requires conversion of the fisheye image to the perspective image because of user's difficult perception. The existing Ishii's method[1] has the problem that the object can has sire and geometrical distortion in the transformed image because it uses equidistance projection. This paper presented a conversion technique of the fisheye image to the perspective image using sealing function. In the experiments, it was shown that our method reduced size and geometrical distortion by applying the scaling function.
