  • 본 논문에서는 유아보호를 위한 차량용 스마트 알림 시스템을 설치해야 한다는 것을 제안한다. 여름철 유아들이 차량에 갇혀 숨지는 안타까운 사건이 빈번히 일어났다. 현행 도로교통법에서는 어린이 통학버스를 운전하는 사람은 운행을 마친 후 어린이나 영유아가 모두 하차했는지를 확인 하도록 규정하고 있고 통학차량에 일정 인원 이상의 유아들이 탑승하면 통솔인원교사가 등.하교 길에 동행하도록 의무화 되어 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 여전히 통학차량에 유아들이 방치되어 사망하는 사건사고가 일어나고 있다. 외국에는 챠량 내부의 모든 버튼을 인식 하여야 차량의 시동이 멈추게 된다. 하지만 유아를 차량에 두고 나오는 사고가 났다. 차량용 스마트 알림 시스템은 기존 버스 내부에 RF카드를 인식하면 유아의 학부모에게 문자가 전송되게 되며 차량 어디에 위치하였는지 표시가 되게 된다. 이로인해 차량에 유아를 두고 내리는 일이 없게 되며 유아가 차량을 언제 탑승하였는지 확인할 수 있게 된다.

  • When a children's school bus stops on the road, the operator enables an amber flashing light (indicating stopping or slowing) or a red flashing light (indicating that children are getting on and off). Drivers of vehicles passing by the stopped school bus, as well as vehicles in adjacent lanes to the school bus must stop temporarily. However, many drivers are not aware of the laws and do not comply with them, so children are exposed to an increased risk of being hit, especially at night as the color recognition of the vehicle is significantly lower than during the day. In our experiments, messages and shapes using light were projected to the front and rear of a parked school bus, in addition to its red lights flashing.

  • In recent years, the population of children has been declining in Korea. Moreover, the phenomenon of elementary school closures is on the rise, particularly in non-urban and some new city areas, highlighting the need for school buses for children. Despite the mandatory safety features in place, accidents involving school buses for children are on the rise, underscoring the need for improvement in the safety of these vehicles. While various studies have been conducted to enhance the safety of children during their school commute, there has been a notable gap in research analyzing the school commuting environment concerning the vehicle safety of these buses. Hence, this study aims to develop a set of service evaluation criteria for school bus routes, considering vehicle safety through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). By conducting a survey to gather information on the current status of school buses for children and through questionnaires targeting stakeholders in the school bus sector, the study analyzed requirements and operating conditions. These results were used to select evaluation criteria and structure the hierarchy based on the external and internal aspects of school bus services. Through AHP surveys conducted based on the designed criteria, experts identified safety as the most crucial aspect, with a specific emphasis on Vehicle Safety. Using these developed service evaluation criteria, the study plans to identify service-vulnerable routes through a real route analysis and recommend improvements, with the ultimate goal of creating a safe and convenient school commuting environment for children.

Safety Consciousness according to School Bus Driver's Type at Child Care Centers (어린이집 통학버스 운전자의 유형에 따른 안전의식에 관한 비교연구)

  • This study has analyzed the factors that influence the safety consciousness of school bus drivers at Child Care Centers. To achieve this, 276 directors and drivers of owner-operator who drives the school bus at Child Care Centers in Chungnam, Chungbuk and Daejeon area were selected as study subjects. For the data analysis, PASW Statistics 18.0 was used. The main results of this study are as follows. The level of safety consciousness of directors and drivers of owner-operator were 6.46 and 6.82 respectively showing that drivers of owner-operator were significantly higher. Second, the factors that influence the safety consciousness were shown to be significantly different for each group. The factors that influence the safety consciousness of directors were shown in the order of whether or not the accident was experienced, safety-seeking motivation, sensation-seeking disposition, safety consciousness of caregivers, perception-motor skill. The factors that influence the safety consciousness of drivers of owner-operator were shown in the order of safety-seeking motivation, health status, daily driving hours, economic status, safety consciousness of caregivers. Based on these results, several ways were suggested to improve the safety consciousness of school bus drivers at Child Care Centers and prevent the traffic accidents.

Design of Safety School Bus System Using RFID (RFID를 활용한 안전 스쿨버스 시스템 설계)

  • As the use of school buses becomes more common, related laws are being enacted, such as making it mandatory for children to check school bus dropouts due to frequent accidents caused by the negligence of school bus drivers and their guardians. In this paper, we propose a safe school bus system that links efficient radio-frequency identification (RFID) and mobile APP in terms of energy utilization and cost. The school bus system uses RFID cards to check information on children boarding the school bus, and real-time SMS transmission allows parents to safely send their children to and from school. Instructors on the school bus can check their children's disembarkation information once more through APP, preventing various accidents that may occur to children left on the bus. Due to the automation of the school bus operation log, daycare center teachers can not only check the information on getting on and off, but also manage the information on the attendance and discharge of the students.

A Study on the Safety Assessment of Elementary School Environment in Korea (우리나라 신도시 초등학교의 통학로 안전환경 비교분석에 관한 연구)

  • The new town was assumed that there is a difference between the country's elementary school environment. First, given the important elements of the school safety plan in order to verify this, and we plan to set up each of these elements by safety criteria. In the second chapter in order to achieve the objective of this study was to develop indicators to evaluate the safety of the school environment influences the safety of the school environment through the theoretical consideration. In Chapter 3, the difference in safety through the new elementary school survey of metropolitan areas was given a score per item per item depending on the evaluation criteria. The fourth section is the difference between safety school environment can be summarized as the following analytical results that the difference between the new city. The results of this study as follows: First, the characteristics of the elementary school environment showed a significant difference between the new town. Second, school location, terrain characteristics, bike paths and pedestrian to the installation, the safety of landscape installations, installing median barriers, traffic safety facilities, speed bumps, separation of pedestrian and vehicle circulation in the front door, scores of elements of the plan such as parking scheme there is a difference between the new town. Third, the introduction of elements of the plan such as Traffic calming or Traffic Island installation techniques was found lacking.

Analysis of University Students' Modal Shift for Commuting Trip Due to the Introduction of New Urban Rail Transit in Gyeongsan City - Comparison between SP Model Before the Introduction and RP Model After the Introduction - (대구 도시철도 경산 연장에 따른 대구-경산 간 대학생 통학통행의 도시철도 전환수요 분석 - 개통 전 SP모형과 개통 후 RP모형의 비교 -)

  • The main objective of this paper is to analyze university students' modal shift for commuting trip due to the introduction of new urban rail transit in a satellite city of metropolitan area. The paper uses SP(2011)/RP(2013) data collected from Yeungnam University in Gyeongsan City, which is a satellite city of Deagu Metropolitan City. So far few researches, especially using before-and-after individual SP/RP travel survey, have been conducted on analyzing university students' modal shift due to the introduction of new urban rail transit. For this research, some descriptive statistical analyses were conducted. Furthermore, some empirical logit models were estimated for analyzing factors affecting the modal shift. Finally, some important findings and policy implications are discussed. The significant findings from this research are summarized as follows. From the descriptive statistical analyses of SP and RP data, it is found that the rate of modal shift to rail transit is relatively high especially for bus travellers. Furthermore, from the empirical SP model estimation, it is found that time saving is the most important factor affecting the modal shift to urban rail transit. On the other hand, from the empirical RP model estimation, it is found that residential location is the most important factor affecting the modal shift to urban rail transit.

Mode Choice Behavior Analysis of Commuter Feeder Passengers to Subway System (통근.통학자의 지하철 연계교통수단 선택행태분석)

  • When new subway lines are considered to construct in a large city, there is a need to establish the appropriate transfer systems between subway and other transit modes, so as to increase the use of subway system. In this study, a multi-nominal logit model is developed to analyze the travel characteristics and the mode choice of subway Passengers transferring to and from the buses, minibuses and taxi. These passengers represent a large Portion of transit Passengers in Pusan city It shows that the explanatory variables that affect Passengers\` mode choice are in order of OVIT(Out-of-Vehicle Travel Time), IVTT(In-Vehicle Travel Time), transit fare,. income, gender, and age in modeling. In particular, OVTT is shown to have more significant impact on the mode choice than IYTT due to the fact that transfer trip is involved only in a short distance. Variables associated with the travel costs, however, do have an insignificant impact on the mode choice. It shows that it would be a better Policy to improve the quality of transit service using additional financial resource by increasing transit fare rather than by reducing the fare to increase travel demand. It also shows that value of travel time of OVTT is remarkably higher than that of IVTT and value of travel time of taxi Passengers is much higher than that of minibus Passengers .

  • The rapid increase of Passenger cars which is caused by the discomfort of Public transit and the Preference of automobiles is the major factor of increasing traffic congestions in Seoul With the point that leading the automobilists to the Public transit can be the most important Policy to ease these traffic congestions, this study focuses on the behavioral aspects of company employees and university students and investigates factors influencing bus ridership. To be brief, by estimating bus ridership through count models, this study investigates factors which influence bus ridership and elicits Political suggestions which lead automobilists to Public transit. The Purpose in this study is the application of appropriate count data model. The count data models have been widely applied to the economic area from the middle of the 1980s and to transportation aspect mainly in the foreign countries from the latter half of the 1980s. Even though a few studies in this country employed count data model to count data. all of them were Poisson regression models without suitable tests for the importance of the model specification. In the end, as the result of statistical test, negative binomial regression model which is suitable for overdispersed data was found to be appropriate for the data of weekly bus ridership. To emphasize the importance of model specification, both of poisson regression model and negative binomial regression model were estimated and the results were compared.
