통일, 통합 그리고 통일교육의 방향

  • 1990년의 '독일통일'은 우리에게 한민족 통일도 이제는 먼 이상이 아니라 현실적 가능성이라는 가슴저린 희망을 한껏 불러 일으켰다. 하지만 '독일통일'이 희망을 주었다면 '통일독일'은 실망과 함께 많은 의문들을 던져주었다. 한반도 통일은 어떤 형식이 될 것인가? 독일식 방식은 불가피한가? 그렇다면 독일이 겪는 통일의 후유증을 극복하고 실질적 통합을 이루기 위해서는 어떻게 해야 하는가? 이를 위해 필요하게 될 통일교육의 기본방향은 무엇인가? 이 글은 독일통일을 원용하여 이러한 통일의 방식, 통일이 제기하는 통합의 문제, 그리고 실질적 통합에 일조를 담당하게 될 통일교육의 방향에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

  • 통일에 대한 열망이 그 어느때보다 높아지고 있다. 새정부의 '햇볕정책', 금강산관광의 실현 등으로 통일의 꿈은 더욱 가시화하는 듯하다. 서점가에는 통일 관련서들이 속속 이어지며 독자의 손길을 기다리고 있다. 이들 책은 통일정책을 역사적으로 고찰하면서 새로운 통일안을 제시한 정책서를 비롯하여 통일문제를 경제적인 측면에서 분석한 통일경제서, 북한의 외교정책을 중심으로 남북관계를 조명한 학술서 등 다양하게 출간되었다. 통일 관련서들을 분야별로 소개한다.

A model for person-oriented unification education: Based on the stages of the unification (사람중심의 통일교육 모델의 제안: 통일 단계에 따라)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose what psychological education is needed for activation of interchange between the South Korea and the North Korea and ultimately for the completion of Korean unification. We learned this reason from the German unification case. The Germany was unified 17 years ago, but many researchers evaluate that it will take about 30 years more for German people to complete real and inner unification. So, we proposed our own unification education in a psychological aspect for faster and inner unification, which is based on the principle that we should go ahead according to our situation, not simply follow the way Germany went. Therefore, we should start psychological education for unification from now on, even though unification is not accomplished at the present and Germany didn't do that. Because we can predict the pre-unification (interchange) stage would be long unlike the Germany, psychological education for unification is needed during this interchange stage consistently. For the person-oriented unification education, we should educate adaptation-enhancement strategy for each person to keep psychological stability in the interchange and unification stage, beyond simply educating ideology focusing on the political and structural unification.

A Proposal for Unification Education Content Using Service Design : focus on the marketplaces and high school students (서비스 디자인을 활용한 통일 교육 콘텐츠 제안 장마당과 고등학생을 중심으로)

  • Expectations for reunification have been higher than ever since the relationship between the two Koreas has become more flexible. However, since most of the integrated education in high school is based on teachers and textbooks, the educational effectiveness is minimal as it fails to attract learners' interest. Therefore, in this study, high school students participated in the North Korean market, the market for the rainy season, and our market. Through this development, the government proposed a new content for unification education that would raise interest in unification and effectively learn how the two Koreas can be divided. The main analyses and studies of this paper are as follows: :(1) First, the current state of unification education and understanding of North Korea and the current status of unification education was analyzed through the survey of educational materials for unification of North Korea, unification and school. (2) Based on the analyzed data, a learner-centered, participatory service concept was derived. (3) Based on the concept of service, a prototype of a unified education content based on the theme of a marketplaces. (4) Tested a prototype of the content of unification education for high school students. (5) Based on the prototyping test results and user analysis, a unified education content was improved and proposed. The study could replace and supplement traditional methods of unification education by improving the effectiveness of unification education through the provision of effective unification education services to high school students.

Determinants of the Unification Tax Acceptance and Persuasion Strategy (통일세 수용의 선행 요인과 메시지 유형별 설득 효과에 대한 연구)

  • How to obtain the financial resources has not been sufficiently addressed, although the unification of Korea incurs enormous cost. This study explains what tax payers of Korea think with regard to the unification tax which is a contradictory issue as a financial resource. The authors analyzed demographic factors, an initial attitude to unification and tax system, and the degree of knowledge as independent variables affecting the intention to pay the unification tax. Furthermore, through the prospect theory, the authors found out how the attitudes of tax payers change by providing them with different messages according to whether they support or oppose the unification tax. The results showed that a group who are male, a group who are old, and a group with high income tend to support the unification and the unification tax more than others. And the results presents that a group who has more interests in both the unification and the unification tax and a group who has more knowledge about the unification and the tax system have more willingness to pay the unification tax than others. In addition, with regard to the persuasive effect of distinct message types, a message which conceals the cost of attitude change was demonstrated to be more effective than a message which emphasizes the benefit.

A Study on the Regular TV Programs Regarding Reunification and North Korea in Korean Broadcasting (통일 및 북한관련 지상파 텔레비전 정규 프로그램 연구: KBS의 <남북의 창>과 MBC의 <통일전망대> 분석을 중심으로)

  • Reunification is one of the most important values that the South Korea should pursue, and Korean broadcasting takes duties as a social communicator to practice the reunification ideology. In the context of multi-channel, multi platform broadcasting system, reunification should be emphasized as fundamental broadcasting principles. This study attempts to analyze the regular programs which cover North Korea and reunification in KBS and MBC from 2001 to 2010 in order to show the practices of the reunification ideology in Korean broadcasting. The results of this study show that theses programs should make efforts to find new material and develop a new program formats. In addition, there should be various genres of reunification programs in order to deliver reunification issues in more interesting ways. TV programs regarding reunification need to be designated as mandatory programs. Based on these results, this study discusses practical suggestions and policy considerations for the practice of reunification ideology in Korean Broadcasting.

The Research Trends and Agendas of Geography for Unification in Korea (통일지리학의 연구동향과 과제)

  • 2015 was the seventieth year from the liberation and the division of Korean peninsular. Although the research on the unification has been performed in various interdisciplinary fields since the liberation of Korea, the geographic research on the unification based on the space stays in a minority. It is time to wrap up the literatures and discourses centered on geography for preparing the unification and taking a view of Korean territory of future unification. The starting point is to define the concept of the geography for unification and give careful consideration to the geographic research trends related to the unification that has been achieved since the liberation of Korea. The geography for unification should be understood in the concept of time and space. First of all, the geography for unification can be composed of the stages such as the research for unification, the research for unification impact, the research for united Korea, and the geopolitics of East Asia under the concept of time. It also can be divided into the regions such as Korea, North Korea, borderlands between North Korea-China and North Korea-Russia including South and North Korea, and North East Asia and Pan Pacific Ocean. The geographic research on the unification embracing the concept of time and space can be defined as the geography for unification. The purpose of this study is to elicit the concept and the research field of the geography for unification in the perspective of discourse, investigate the research trends by geographic themes, and suggest the agendas of the geography for future unification.
