Identity-Based Secure Many-to-Many Multicast in Wireless Mesh Networks (무선 메쉬 네트워크에서의 아이디 기반 프록시 암호화를 이용한 안전한 다대다 멀티캐스트 기법)

  • Group communication in a wireless mesh network is complicated due to dynamic intermediate mesh points, access control for communications between different administrative domains, and the absence of a centralized network controller. Especially, many-to-many multicasting in a dynamic mesh network can be modeled by a decentralized framework where several subgroup managers control their members independently and coordinate the inter-subgroup communication. In this study, we propose a topology-matching decentralized group key management scheme that allows service providers to update and deliver their group keys to valid members even if the members are located in other network domains. The group keys of multicast services are delivered in a distributed manner using the identity-based encryption scheme. Identity-based encryption facilitates the dynamic changes of the intermediate relaying nodes as well as the group members efficiently. The analysis result indicates that the proposed scheme has the advantages of low rekeying cost and storage overhead for a member and a data relaying node in many-to-many multicast environment. The proposed scheme is best suited to the settings of a large-scale dynamic mesh network where there is no central network controller and lots of service providers control the access to their group communications independently.

A Study on the Wireless Communication Method for Emergency Broadcasting System in Metro Environments (도시철도용 비상방송시스템을 위한 무선통신방식 연구)

  • Recently, the subway running in metro environments has a problem in securing the safety of passengers due to the failure of announcement in emergency situations such as breakdown, train accidents and power outage in the underground tunnels. Thus, there is a need to develop an emergency broadcasting system that can provide the announcement to all passenger cars in any emergency situations on the railway route. In this paper, the applicability of various wireless communication technologies for the emergency broadcasting system through the measurement campaign was examined in Seoul metropolitan subway. A WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments) is communication technology that can use 5.9GHz dedicated frequency band without charge and it is possible to directly communicate between terminals over 200m without the help of additional relay. Especially, it confirms robust communication performance in the various metro environments, and therefore, it is considered to be suitable as a communication method of a radio-connected emergency broadcasting system for urban subway.

Development of LNA module for Ka-band Communication Satellite Payload (Ka 대역 통신위성중계기용 저잡음증폭기 모듈 개발)

  • A LNA module, integrated microwave assemblies (IMAs) were developed for use in Ka-band Satellite Communication Satellite Payload that operates in the frequency range of 29,6 ${\~}$ 30.0GHz. The module will be placed directly behind their respective antenna feed horns to minimize the required waveguide and system noise figure impact. Two MMIC LNA Chips were used in the module design. The measured result shows that the module has 32dB gain and 2.4dB NF performance. The module size is 51m ${\times}$ 36m ${\times}$ 22 and the mass is 92g. The Noise Figure performance is the best result of currently available modules for satellite payload operating in the same frequency range. The module will be assembled using space-qualified process and tested for space qualification.

  • In this paper, a method for generating ranging signal to reduce the effects of interference and overcome intentional jamming is proposed in slow frequency hopping(SFH) communication system. A terminal uses ranging signal for initial Up-link synchronization in the frequency hopping communication systems using multi-terminal. However, ranging signal generated by unsynchronized terminal acts as an interference signal to another terminal. Therefore, we propose the design of the ranging signal with PN sequence in order to minimize the affection to the other terminal and simulated its performance. From the simulated result, we confirm synchronization performance.

DEA모형을 이용한 공공기관 효율성분석에 관한 사례연구: 일선우체국을 중심으로

  • 효율성은 산출물의 가치와 그 산출물을 창출해 내기 위해 생산과정에서 소비한 투입물 가치의 비율로 나타낸다 투입물이나 산출물의 시장가격이 존재하는 경우 이 값을 가중치로 이용하여 산출물과 투입물의 가치를 계산할 수 있다. 그러나 투입물과 산출물의 종류가 다양한 경우에는 투입물의 가치를 적절히 평가하기가 쉽지 않다. Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)모형은 효율성을 여러 가지 투입물의 가중평균에 대한 여러 가지 산출요소의 가중평균의 비율로 표시하며, 특정 의사결정단위의 효율성 정도는 유사한 투입 산출구조를 가지는 준거집단과 비교하여 상대적으로 측정하고자 하는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 DEA모형의 구조와 이론적 근거, 그리고 적용상의 장단점에 대해 알아 본 뒤 국내 일선우체국의 운영자료를 토대로 하여 공공적인 성격을 띠는 기관의 운영효율성 측정에의 적용사례를 제시하였다. 투입자료로는 '98년 우정사업자료를 중심으로 공통영업비, 우편영업비, 금융영업비, 직원수, 관할가구수, 관할면적, 고정자산 등 7개 변수와 우편영업수익, 금융영업수익, 보험수지차, 배달 및 중계 우편물량, 현금출납 취급건수, 연평잔실적의 6개 변수를 각각 투입물과 산출물 변수로 설정하여 모형을 구축하였다. 분석대상으로 삼은 64개 우체국 전체의 효율성 평균은 82.14%으로 나타났으며 DEA모형의 효율성결과와 기존에 이미 발표된 정보통신부 평가결과와의 상관관계는 0.46291로 강하지는 않지만 두 변수간에는 정(正)의 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Satellite Link Simulator Development in 100 MHz Bandwidth to Simulate Satellite Communication Environment in the Geostationary Orbit (정지궤도 위성통신 환경모의를 위한 100 MHz 대역폭의 위성링크 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • The transponder simulator designed to simulate the transponder of military satellite communication systems in the geostationary orbit is required to have time delay function, because of 250 ms delay time, when a radio wave transmits the distance of 36,000 km in free space. But, it is very difficult to develop 250 ms time delay device in the transponder simulator of 100 MHz bandwidth, due to unstable operation of FPGA, loss of memory data for the high speed rate signal processing. Up to date, bandwidth of the time delay device is limited to 45 MHz bandwidth. To solve this problem, we propose the new time delay techniques up to 100 MHz bandwidth without data loss. Proposed techniques are the low speed down scaling and high speed up scaling methods to read and write the external memory, and the matrix structure design of FPGA memory to treat data as high speed rate. We developed the satellite link simulator in 100 MHz bandwidth using the proposed new time delay techniques, implemented to the transponder simulator and verified the function of 265 ms time delay device in 100 MHz bandwidth.

  • SC-FDE (Single Carrier with Frequency-Domain Equalization), one of physical layers of IEEE802.16, is less sensitive to nonlinear power amplifiers than OFDM while its complexity and performance is comparable. The guard interval length in SC-FDE should be greater than the maximal delay spread. While a delay spread is small in most wireless communication environments, a very large delay spread can be possibly encountered in the mountain areas or due to the repeaters. This paper proposes SC-FDE with variable-length guard intervals. In the proposed method the guard interval length can be determined per each cell or per each subscriber stations.

  • Accurate predictions and simulations of the behavior of space structures based on analytical models become more important. In order to perform analysis to support the design of Ku-band transponder panel for the Communications and Broadcasting Satellite(CBS), mathematical models of the panel were generated in the form of finite element models. Test verification of these models is required before the transponder panel can be certified for launch environments. A modal identification was performed to obtain modal parameters which can be compared with the test results using correlation techniques. This paper approaches the sensor placement from the standpoint of the structural dynamicist who uses the modal parameter obtained during launch environmental test. The models were validated by performing a test-analysis correlation and updating analysis. It was proved that the Ku-band transponder panel satisfies the environmental test requirements.

A Study on the Efficiency Improvement of Linear Power Amplifier for Mobile Communication Repeater Applications (이동 통신 중계기용 선형 전력 증폭기 효율 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In fabricated linear power amplifier(LPA), the third-order inter-modulation distortion(IMD) for main amplifier alone is 10.61dBc, and the IMD for LPA with predistorter and feedforward loop combined is 32.50dBc. Therefore, the IMD characteristic results an improvement of approximately 22dB. The main amplifier efficiency with single tone input is close to 30%, and the efficiency of the overall LPA with predistorter is 27.4% and predicted feedforward loop efficiency without predistorter is about 20%. Therefore, LPA with predistorter and feedforward loop combined is improved by 7.4%.

Performance of long-haul optical fiber commumication system using optical amplifiers with post amplifier loss (후치 증폭기 손실을 갖는 광섬유 증폭기를 사용한 장거리 광통신 시스템의 성능형가)

  • Performance of soliton based long-haul optical communication system with in-line optical amplifier repeaters are evaluated numerically. To reduce the optical amplifier noise, the amplifier gain is increased and the post amplifier loss is included. By theoretical calculation with 1480 nm co propagating pump, 7 dB amplifier gain and operating the amplifier 1 dB in compression, the spontaneous emission factor can be reduced from 2.37 to 1.45 by increasing the pump power from 3.71 to 11.53 mW and increasing the post amplifier loss from 0 to 10 dB. Then, power penalty can be reduced from 4.09 to 1.20 dB for 8,000'km transmission and the maximum transmission distance is 14,890 km. ,890 km.
