Asymmetric Position of Optical phase Conjugator in Dispersion Managed Optical Links with the Random Distribution of RDPS (RDPS 분포가 랜덤한 분산 제어 링크에서 광 위상 공액기의 비대칭 위치)

  • The compensation characteristics are investigated as a function of the position an optical phase conjugation (OPC) in the optical transmission links with a randomly distributed residual dispersion per span (RDPS). The simulation results show that the optimal net residual dispersion (NRD) is decided to be 10 ps/nm and -10 ps/nm by precompensation and postcompensation, respectively, which are independence of the OPC positions.

  • The compensation characteristics of 40 Gbps optical signals depending on figure of merit (FOM) of dispersion compensating fiber with dispersion coefficient of -125 ps/nm/km are investigated in this research. Simulation results show that the more fiber span number and launch power increase, the more the effects of FOM of DCF on the compensated signals increase. However, it is also confirmed that the more the effects of optical nonlinearity increase, the more FOM decrease.

  • 본 논문에서는 거리정보에 기반을 두지 않은 방식(range-free)에서 라우팅 에너지 효율성을 고려한 ALPS(Ad hoc network Localized Positioning System) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 관련하여 기존의 대표적인 관련 연구로는 DV-Hop 알고리즘이 있다. 이는 앵커 노드와 앵커 노드사이의 미지 노드들의 거리를 홉 수로 나누어 노드 사이의 거리를 구하고 삼각측량법을 이용하여 노드의 좌표를 계산한다. 하지만 이 경우 앵커 노드와 미지노드 사이의 거리를 홉 수로 나눈 한 홉 거리가 모두 동일하다고 가정하였고, 이에 사용되는 앵커노드간의 평균 거리를 사용하여 노드간의 거리정보를 구하게 되어 각 중계노드는 고정된 경로에서만 거리 정보를 알 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안되는 ALPS 알고리즘은 계층적 클러스터 단위에 소속된 임의의 노드에 대한 위치정보를 제공하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘에 따른 위치정보를 사용 할 경우 기존의 DV-hop방식에 따른 노드의 위치정보를 사용한 경우보다 보다 최적화된 에너지 소모를 유지할 수 있는 경로 알고리즘을 최종적으로 제공하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 논문에서는 상기 두 가지 방식의 위치정보에 따른 라우팅에서 소모되는 에너지 관계를 비교하여 보다 최적화된 에너지 경로 알고리즘이 제공되는 결과를 검증하고 보여주고자 한다.

Intersymbol Interference of Optical Signal in Wireless Optical Communication System (광무선통신시 광신호의 부호간 간섭에 관한 연구)

  • When an optical pulse propagates through the atmospheric channel, the atmospheric turbulence attenuates and spreads this pulse. This attenuation and broadening of pulse are occurred by the fluctuation in the arrival time of pulse at the optical receiver. This pulse broadening induces the intersymbol interference (ISI) between the adjacent pulses. finally, the adjacent pulses are overlapped and the bit rate and the repeaterless transmission length are limited by the ISI. In digital communication system, therefore, the pulse broadening is more important factor than the attenuation. In this paper, thus, we find the ISI in the atmospheric turbulence as the function of the structure constant for the refractive index fluctuation that presents the strength of turbulence using the temporal momentum function and present it by numerical analysis.

  • In this paper, a cluster-based routing protocol in distributed sensor network is proposed, which enable the balanced energy consumption in the sensor nodes densely deployed in the sensor fields. This routing protocol is implemented based on clusters with hierarchical scheme. The clusters are formed by the closely located sensor nodes. A cluster node with maximum residual energy in the cluster, can be selected as cluster head node. In routing, one of the nodes in the intersection area between two clusters is selected as a relay-node and this method can extend the lifetime of all the sensor nodes in view of the balanced consumption of communication energy.

  • The performance of the speech recognition engine is one of the most critical elements of the in-vehicle speech recognition interface. The objective of this paper is to develop an automated platform for running performance tests on the in-vehicle speech recognition engine. The developed platform comprise of main program, agent program, database management module, and statistical analysis module. A simulation environment for performance tests which mimics the real driving situations was constructed, and it was tested by applying pre-recorded driving noises and a speaker's voice as inputs. As a result, the validity of the results from the speech recognition tests was proved. The users will be able to perform the performance tests for the in-vehicle speech recognition engine effectively through the proposed platform.

  • In this paper, we propose a scheduling algorithm to improve the performance of IEEE 802.16 based wireless mesh networks using directional antenna. The performance is presented in terms of throughput of system and delay between each node by varying number of users. The result show that proposed scheduling algorithm improving the performance by reducing the delay of mesh network system. Our work may be useful as a guideline to control the fairness between SSs for multi-hop systems such as multi-hop relay and mesh networks.

  • In this paper, we propose a multi-hop cooperative transmission protocol over Rayleigh fading channels. In the proposed protocol, the multi-hop cooperative transmission is used to improve the system performance. Due to broadcast nature, we do not limit the receiving node to be only the next node, but the destination and all the nodes between the transmitting node and the destination. The proposed protocol can hence save the average transmit power, compared with multi-hop direct transmission protocol due to the skipped transmissions from some intermediate nodes or chosen relays. The proposed scheme is implemented and evaluated in mobile ad-hoc wireless networks.

  • Manipulating a car navigation system while driving can lead to car accident due to loss of concentration. This will be more serious for elders or beginner drivers. Recently, a new Road Traffic Law in Korea prohibits drivers from watching or operating any video displaying devices. So the car navigation system came hard to use. In order to solve the issue we design and implement a novel system where a remote person can control the car navigation system on behalf of the driver. In the proposed system, we suggest to utilize the driver's smartphone for allowing sharing the Internet connection of the phone with the navigation system. The required smartphone application and the server will also be designed and implemented.

A Prediction Method using Markov chain in DTN (DTN에서 Markov Chain을 이용한 노드의 이동 예측 기법)

  • 본 논문에서는 Delay Tolerant Networks(DTNs)에서 Markov chain으로 노드의 속성 정보 변화율을 분석하여 노드의 이동 경로를 예측하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존 DTN에서 예측기반 라우팅 기법은 노드가 미리 정해진 스케줄에 따라 이동한다. 이러한 네트워크에서는 스케줄을 예측할 수 없는 환경에서 노드의 신뢰성이 낮아진다. 본 논문에서는 일정 구간의 노드의 속성 정보의 시간에 따른 변화율을 Markov chain을 이용하여 노드의 이동 경로를 예측하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 노드의 속성 정보 중 노드의 속도와 방향성을 근사한 후, 변화율을 분석하고 이로부터 Markov chain을 이용하여 확률전이 매트릭스를 생성하여 노드의 이동 경로를 예측하는 알고리즘이다. 주어진 모의실험 환경에서 노드의 이동 경로 예측을 통해 중계 노드를 선정하여 라우팅 함으로써 네트워크 오버헤드와 전송 지연 시간이 감소함을 보여주고 있다.
