Implementation for Modbus/RTU Protocol Using LabVIEW (LabVIEW를 이용한 Modbus/RTU 프로토콜 구현)

  • Real time processing is important in the industrial field. In this paper, we implement for Modbus/RTU(Remote Terminal Unit) protocol using LabVIEW based on serial communication. In other to obtain the experimental data from torque sense and voltage/current meter, Modbus/RTU protocol is implemented by LabVIEW tool. Mechanical loss can be calculated by torque, RPM, voltage, and current. Source code consist of panel and block diagram. We confirmed these source code can be applied in industrial field.

Analysis of Torsional Excitation Force of the Vehicle Driveline (차량 동력 전달계의 비틀림 가진력 해석)

  • Torque fluctuation of an engine and angular velocity variation of a propeller shaft are the main excitation sources in the vehicle driveline. This paper presents brief mechanism of these excitation sources. Equivalent models of these systems are construced to simulate the excitation source. The computer simulation was carried out by ARLA Simul v 6.7 and ARLA-Simstat v 2.3. Results of the simulations show the characteristics of torsional excitation source of the driveline. Experimental setups for engine system and propeller shaft system are constructed with component of the vehicle. Torque fluctuation of the flywheel and angular velocity of the propeller shaft were measured from this experimental setups. Experimental results are compared with simulation results. The results from experimental analysis agree with those from theoretical results.

  • 본 논문에서는 LabVIEW를 이용한 휴대용 3상 유도전동기 회전자 바 고장 진단 시스템을 개발하였다. LabVIEW는 NI사에서 개발한 그래픽컬 프로그래밍 언어로서 VI(Virtual Instrument)기술을 이용하여 계측, 분석, 표현 프로그램에 최적화된 언어이다. 유도전동기의 입력단에 Current Probe를 연결하여 전류를 측정하였고, NI사의 USB-DAQ보드를 이용하여 데이터를 수집한 후 노트북 컴퓨터에서 실행되는 LabVIEW 프로그램에 의해 고장을 진단할 수 있는 실시간 휴대용 진단 시스템을 개발하였다. 회전자 바에 고장이 일어나면 선 전류의 불균형, 손실 증가, 토크맥동과 평균 토크의 감소를 가져올 수 있다. 고장 진단 방법으로는 회전자 바 고장의 특징 주파수를 찾아 진단하는 방법이 있다. 회전자 바 고장에 대하여 1개와 2개 바를 절단한 회전자를 사용하여 각각 실험하였으며, FFT 분석에 의하여 실시간으로 유도전동기 회전자 바 고장을 진단 할 수 있음을 보였다.

Torque Measurement of Rotating Shaft Using Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors and Rotary Optical Coupler (광섬유격자센서와 회전광학커플러를 사용한 새로운 회전축의 토크 측정방법)

  • Torque of a rotating shaft has been mostly measured by strain gages combined with either a slip ring or telemetry. However, these methods have severe inherent problems like low S/N ratio, high cost, limited number of channels and difficult installation. In this paper, a new method using FBG(fiber bragg grating) sensors and a rotary optical coupler for online non-contact torque monitoring is suggested. FBG sensor can measure both strain and temperature, and has much batter characteristics than those of a strain gage. A rotary optical coupler is a optical connecting device between a rotating shaft and stationary side without any physical contact. It has been devised for transmitting light between a rotating optical fiber and a stationary optical fiber. The proposed method uses this rotary optical coupler to connect FBG sensors on the rotating shaft to instruments at stationary side. And a reference FBG sensor is also applied to compensate the insertion loss change of the rotary optical coupler due to rotation. Three FBG sensors have been fabricated in a single optical fiber. Two FBG sensors are attached on the shaft surface to measure torque and one sensor is installed at the shaft center to compensate the insertion loss change. The torque of a rotating shaft has been successfully measured by the suggested method proving its superior performance potential.

Design and Implementation of Electric Current Control Device for Ignition Coil in Spark Ignition Engine (스파크 점화기관의 점화코일 전류제어장치 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we design and implement a electric current controller for ignition coil to measure the amount of current and to supply the additional current under vehicle driving conditions in spark ignition engines. The proposed controller can provide the stable current and prevent the overcurrent by measuring the amperage of primary ignition in real time. Also it enhances the performance of vehicle engine by controling the amount of ignition energy that make power increase and fuel burn more completely. The power and torque of the normal vehicle is evaluated as performance index for the experimental validation of the control module. The experimental results using dynamometer equipment show that after control module-mounted elevates the average of 10% more in both power and torque compared with before module-mounted.

  • This paper presents the work being carried out in order to deduce hover performance of a small-scale single rotor blade as a preliminary study of a small coaxial rotor helicopter development. As an initial research, a test stand capable of measuring thrust and torque of a small-scale rotor blade in hover state was constructed and fabricated. The test stand consists of three parts; a rotating device, a load measuring sensor and a data acquisition system. Thrust and torque were measured with varying collective pitch angle at fixed RPM. Through this research, hover performance tests were conducted for a small-scale single rotor blade operating in low Reynolds number ($Re\;{\approx}3{\times}10^5$), as well as for verifying the test stand itself for acquiring hover performance.

  • 본 논문은 EPS(전자식 파워 스티어링)에 사용되는 Torque and Angle sensor 의 절대각 신뢰성 보증 방식에 관한 것으로, Inductive 방식의 센서에서 절대각 신호 신뢰성 보증에 대한 효과적인 방법을 제시한다. 전동식 파워 스티어링 시스템의 ECU(전자제어유닛)는 조타각도를 출력하는 2 개의 소자에서 버니어 알고리즘을 통해 360 도 이상의 멀티 조타각을 인식하게 된다. 토크&조향각 센서는 절대 조향각을 계산하는 1 개의 Hall IC 소자 신호와, 상대 조향각을 계산하는 ASIC 소자 신호를 사용하여 멀티 조타각을 인식한다. 인식된 조타각이 추가적인 검증 절차 없이 제어에 사용된다면, 센서의 이상 발생 시에 운전자의 조타감을 불편해질 수 있고, 나아가서는 차량사고의 위험을 발생시킬 수 있다.따라서 차량 거동 시 절대 조향각의 신뢰성 검증은 제어와 동시에 항상 요구되어야 한다. 특히, 유럽/미국 업계의 ISO 26262 표준 도입에 따라 절대 조향각의 높은 신뢰성이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요구사항을 만족하기 위해 측정된 절대각 신호를 기준으로 상대각 신호 2 개를 측정에 사용하고, Driving 시에도 절대각 기준의 신뢰도 향상을 위해 절대각 신호 1 개를 비교기로 사용한다. 최적화된 에러 기준을 근거로 절대 조향각 신호의 신뢰성을 보장하는 방법을 제안한다. 이러한 방법을 적용한다면, 정확하고 안정적으로 조타각을 결정함으로써 EPS 안전성 확보에 도움을 줄 수 있다.

Evaluations on Performances of a Non-Contact Torque Measurement Technique for Rotatory Machinery (회전기계용 비접촉식 토크 측정법 성능 평가)

  • Gas compressors are mostly driven by motors. It is important to measure the power of motors to evaluate their power efficiency, because the mechanical loads of gas compressors are always varied. In order to measure the power given to the driving motors, the torque should be measured. Manufacturers of compressors usually use the torque data to calculate the compressors qualities such as power consumption, efficiencies and failures. In general, measurements for the shaft torque of the compressors have been based upon contact types, strain gauges. In the cases of larger compressors, the contact type of strain gauges have several disadvantages such as large size and high cost. In this study, a relatively inexpensive and simple torque sensing technique that is not restricted to shaft diameter is introduced using visualization technique. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) has been adopted to complete non-contact torques measurements for rotating motors. In order to compare the performance of the newly constructed torque measurement technique, torque measurement by a transducer based on MEMS technology has been performed simultaneously during experiments.

  • 본 연구는 필드 작업 시 작업조건에 따른 정식기의 PTO 부하를 측정하고, 이를 이용하여 작업조건에 따른 안전율 시뮬레이션을 목적으로 수행하였다. 부하 계측 시스템은 PTO 축의 부하를 측정하기 위한 토크 센서, 토크 센서에서 발생한 신호를 수집하기 위한 데이터 수집장치, 노트북에 전원을 공급하기 위한 파워 컨트롤러로 구성하였다. 토크센서에서 입력된 부하 데이터를 처리하기 위한 소프트웨어는 Labview(Version 2011, National Instrument, USA)를 사용하였다. 포장시험은 유사한 토양 조건에서 4회 반복 시험을 수행하였으며, 작업속도 고속 조건에서 4개의 주간거리(26, 35, 43, 80cm)와 3개의 식부깊이 (85, 105, 136mm)에 대하여 수행하였다. 안전율 시뮬레이션을 위한 소프트웨어는 KISSsoft(Version 2016, Kissling & Co. AG, Switzerland)를 사용하였다. 식부깊이 85mm에서 주간거리 26, 35, 43, 80cm일 때 작업시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 2.2874, 2.4507, 2.7139, 2.8064로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.1787, 1.2799, 1.3205, 1.3275로 나타났다. 식부깊이 105mm에서 주간거리 26, 35, 43, 80cm일 때 작업 시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 2.1261, 2.2781, 2.4879, 2.5866로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.1296, 1.1425, 1.2710, 1.2507로 나타났다. 식부깊이 136mm에서 주간거리 26, 35, 43, 80cm일 때 작업 시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 1.6587, 1.6651, 1.7824, 2.2198로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.0030, 1.0104, 1.0450, 1.1931로 나타났다. 주간거리에 따른 식부깊이의 굽힘 안전율과 접촉 안전율은 가장 차이가 큰 주간거리 80cm에서 식부깊이가 85, 105, 136mm일 때 작업 시 각각 굽힘 안전율은 2.8064, 2.5866, 2.2198로 나타났으며 접촉 안전율은 1.3275, 1.2507, 1.1931로 나타났다. 시뮬레이션 결과 정식기 베벨기어의 안전율은 주간거리가 짧을수록, 식부깊이가 깊을수록 더 낮게 나타났다. 그러므로 정식 작업 시 정식기의 부하와 내구성을 고려하여 적절한 작업조건을 선정해야 함을 알 수 있다. 또한 향후 다양한 토양 조건 및 작업 단수 등에 따른 포장시험을 추가로 진행하여 여러 조건에서의 안전율 시뮬레이션을 수행할 예정이다.

Comparative analysis of cutter acting forces and axial stresses of single and double disc cutters by linear cutting tests (선형절삭시험에 의한 더블디스크커터와 싱글디스크커터의 커터 작용력과 축응력에 대한 실험적 평가)

  • This study aims to evaluate cutter acting forces as well as axial stresses and torques in the shaft of two kinds of disc cutters including a single disc cutter and a double disc cutter with the same cutter ring geometry in a series of linear cutting tests. From the tests, the mean values of normal forces and rolling forces acting on the double disc cutter were approximately twice as high as those from the single disc cutter. Similarly, the mean values of axial stresses in the shaft of the double disc cutter were also twice as high as those from the single disc cutter even though the comparisons of torques from two kinds of disc cutters were insignificant since they showed very low values. However, it is necessary to take the durability of a tapered roller bearing used for the double disc cutter into high consideration since the average normal force from the double disc cutter exceeds the allowable force for a disc cutter with the diameter of 432 mm (17 inches). Finally, there is no practical problem in terms of axial stresses in the shaft of the double disc cutter since they are much lower than the yielding stress of the cutter shaft material, even though the axial stresses in the shaft of the double disc cutter are approximately twice as high as those from the single disc cutter.
