토션빔의 단면형상에 다른 현가계의 구조적 특성과 롤 거동에 관한 연구 (A study on the structural characteristics and roll behavior of suspension for the section profile of torsion beam)

  • The kinematic and complicance characteristics of torsion beam axle is structurally related to the location and section profile of torsion beam and the span from body mounting point to wheel center. This paper presents the effect of section properties in torsion beam on the structural characteristics and roll behavior of suspension. The structural characteristics is on the maximum stress on the welding area of torsion beam and the roll behavior is on roll steer and roll-camber of suspension which are important for controllability and stability in cornering. Four factors are used for the section design of torsion beam, which are thickness , midline length, are inner radius, and sector half angle . Through the structural and quasi-static analysis made for six torsion beam axle models, it can be noticed that roll steer and the structural durability of suspension are closely related to warping constant and shear center in section properties of torsion beam.

초음파 나노표면개질을 적용한 궤도차량용 토션바 제조 및 재제조용 표면 개질기술에 관한 연구 (UNSM Surface Technology for Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Torsion Bars for Crawler Vehicles)

  • The Ultrasonic Nanocrystal Surface Modification (UNSM) technology improves the fatigue life of a torsion bar by inducing compressive residual stress on the surface layer. The UNSM is applied to replace the presetting method and shot peening technology. The torsion bar must be changed periodically because of a lack of durability and a phenomenon related to the stress relaxation. The torsion fatigue test specimens were made of DIN17221 material, and the results showed that the fatigue life was 5 times more than under durability test conditions. A comparison test between the commercial vehicles' presetting method and shot peened torsion bar and the UNSM torsion bar showed that the UNSM could replace the presetting method and shot peening.

무단변속기 장착차량의 발진성능 해석을 위한 시뮬레이션 프로그램의 개발 (A Development of the Simulation Program for Launching Performance of a Passenger Car equipped Continuously Variable Transmission)

  • This paper describes the launching characteristics of a passenger car using a Push-Belt type Continuously Variable Transmission(CVT) which equipped a wet type multi-plate clutch asa starting device and a solid flywheel with a torsional damper for a torsional coupling device. To reduce the torsional vibration of the drive-line , some torsional coupling devices were used for the passenger car equipped CVT having the clutch as a starting device especially . In this study, we developed the computer simulation program to investigate the launching characteristics of a passenger car equipped CVT using the mathematical models of this system. For the mathematical models of the vehicle, the CVT, the we type multi-plate clutch and the torsional damper, we obtained the specification and the necessary data through the reverse engineering of those. For the verification of our analysis, we performed the test of prototype car with different throttle positions at road and dynamometer. The launching characteristics of a passenger car considered here an acceleration performance and an ascending performance.

  • Disc brake noise continues to be a major concern throughout the automotive industry despite efforts to reduce its occurrence. Eliminating vibrations during braking is an important task for both vehicle passenger comfort and reducing the overall environmental noise levels. There are several classes of disc brake noise, the major ones being squeal, judder, groan, and moan. In this study, analytical model for moan noise of rear disk brake is investigated. Modeling of the disc brake assembly to take account of the effect of different geometrical and contact parameters is studied through the use of multi-body model. The contact stiffness of the caliper and torque member plays an important role in controlling brake vibration. Therefore, a suitable material pair at the caliper/body contact has been made. An ADAMS model of a rear disc brake system was integrated with a flexible suspension trailng arm from MSC/NASTRAN. A fully non-linear dynamic simulatin of brake system behavior, containing rigid and flexible bodies, was performed for a Prescribed set of operating conditions. Simulation results were validated using data from vehicle experimental testing.

더블-액션 압출공정을 적용한 전동조향장치용 토션조인트 요크 개발 (Development of a Torsion Joint Yoke for Motor-Driven Power Steering System Using a Double-Action Extrusion Process)

  • The yoke, a component of conventional motor-driven power steering system, often contains welding defects from its manufacturing process. To eliminate these defects, the precision cold forging process has been tried. In this study, the double-action complex forging has been used to manufacture a torsion joint yoke. The backward extrusion proved faster than the forward extrusion in forging of the product. The double-action complex forging process utilized an upper die composed of a punch, a punch guide, a disc spring and a coil spring. The forged material pushes up the punch guide, and then the disc spring and the coil spring balances the backward extrusion force. Consequently, the flow of material was essentially in the forward direction, resulting in a successful forging operation. The forging load of Al 6061-T6 was higher than that of the automotive structural hot rolled plate.

중력보상기 기반의 하지용 외골격 장치 설계 연구 (Study of a Gravity Compensator for the Lower Body)

  • This paper is about the design of a new gravity compensator for the lower body exo-skeleton device. The exo-skeleton devices is for increasing the torque of the human body joint for the purpose of helping the disabled, workers in the industry, and military soldiers. So far, most of studied exo-skeleton devices are actuated by the motors, but motors are limited in energy such that a short durability is always a big problem. In this paper, a new gravity compensator is proposed to reduce the torque load applied to human body joints due to gravity. The gravity compensator is designed using a tortional bar spring, and its structure and characteristics are studied through the test and computer simulation. A design concept on the exo-skeleton device using the gravity compensator is presented. An analysis and computer simulation on the torque reduction of the proposed exo-skeleton device that applies and non-applies the gravity compensator are performed.

복합하중을 받는 복합소재 중공 토크바 설계 (Development of composite torsion shaft for the aircraft structure under multiple load condition)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 항공기 메커니즘 구조물에 사용되는 금속 소재 토크바를 복합소재를 이용하여 무게절감이 가능한 구조물을 개발 하는것에 있다. 토크바에 주어진 하중조건 및 구조물의 설계 경계조건에 부합하는 유한요소모델을 이용하여 구조해석을 수행 하였다. 이를 바탕으로 최적화된 복합소재의 적층 조건 및 토크바의 두께 요건을 설정하였다. 설계요건에 맞게 제작된 시제품을 이용하여 복합소재 토크바의 비틀림 시험을 실시하였으며, 동구조 시험을 통해서 토크바의 강도 및 강성 요구조건을 만족한다는 것을 증명하였다.

  • 로터 블레이드는 허브를 통해 전달된 토크와 조종장치를 이용한 피치각 제어를 통해 헬리콥터 비행에 필요한 양력, 추력 및 기동력을 발생시킬 수 있는 핵심 구성품이며, 구조적인 안전성과 함께 공진의 위험성이 없도록 진동 특성을 고려하여 설계되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 다목적 무인 헬리콥터(Multi-Purpose Utility Helicopter)에 적용하기 위한 주로터 블레이드의 구조 설계를 수행하였으며, 제작된 블레이드의 단면 강성 측정 시험을 수행하였다. 이후 측정된 강성 분포를 반영하여 로터 시스템의 진동특성에 대한 평가를 수행하였다. 로터 블레이드 내부는 스킨, 스파 및 토션박스로 구성되며, 탄소 및 유리 섬유 복합소재를 적용하였다. 블레이드 단면 강성 예측을 위해 Ksec2D 프로그램을 활용하였으며, 실험을 통해 측정된 값과 비교한 결과를 제시하였다. 로터 시스템의 회전으로 인한 고유진동수 변화 및 공진 위험 여부를 확인하기 위해 회전익 항공기의 통합 해석 프로그램인 CAMRADII를 활용하였다.

토션 바재의 마찰용접에 관한 연구(I) -마찰용접기술의 최적화에 대하여- (Study on Friction Welding of Torsion Bar Material(1) -Optimization of Friction Welding Technique-)

  • The friction welding has more technical and economic advantages than the other welding processes. As this welding process has the characteristics such as curtailment of production time, materials, cost reduction, etc., it has been widely used in production of various mechanical components which have complex shapes. So, this paper deals with optimizing the friction welding conditions and analyzing various mechanical properties of the friction welded joints of torsion bar material SUP9A bar to bar. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1) The quantitative relation between heating time($t_{1}$, sec) and total upset(U, mm)can be obtained. The empirical formula obtained is ; U = 3.29$t_{1}$ + 1.6 2) The tensile strength($\sigma_{t}$, kgf/$mm^{2}$) of friction welding joints as post weld heat treated(PWHT) depends upon heating time($t_{1}$, sec) quantitatively and the empirical formula obtained is ; $\sigma$= -5.1$t_{1}\;^{2}$+44.90$t_{1}$+45.2 3) It is certain that the optimum condition for friction welded joints of SUP9A steel bars of diameter 14.5mm is, considering on various properties such as tensile strength, torsional strength, impact energy and strain of the joints after PWTH ; n = 2000rpm, $P_{1}$=8kgf/$mm^{2}$, $P_{2}$=20kgf/$mm^{2}$, $t_{1}$=4sec, $t_{2}$=3sec 4) The tensile strength, torsional strength and hardness were increased with the increased with the increasing carbon equivalent, but toughness was decreased.

복합재 헬리콥터 로터 허브 시스템의 제작 및 기본 물리량 시험 (Manufacturing Process and Basic Property Tests of Composite Helicopter Rotor Hub System)

  • 본 논문에서는 복합재료를 이용하여 플렉스빔과 토크튜브를 제작하기 위한 공정과 기본 물리량 시험과정을 소개하였다. 플렉스빔과 토크튜브는 헬리콥터에 적용되는 무베어링 로터 허브 시스템을 구성하기 위한 핵심 구성품이다. 토크튜브는 블레이드의 피치각을 변화시키기 위한 조종력을 전달하며, 플렉스빔은 구조적인 변형을 통해 플랩, 래그 및 페더링 힌지를 구현하는 기능을 담당한다. 지상회전시험을 수행하기에 앞서 플렉스빔과 토크튜브 및 블레이드의 플랩강성, 래그강성 및 토션강성을 측정하기 위한 기본 물리량 시험을 수행하였다. 또한, 해석을 통해 예측된 단면 강성과 기본 물리량을 통해 획득된 강성 값을 비교하였으며, 그 결과를 통해 복합재료로 제작된 플렉스빔과 토크튜브가 구조적인 강성 요구도를 만족함을 확인할 수 있었다.
