  • In this study, the intellectual structure of Records Management & Archival Science in Korea was analyzed using document clustering, a widely used method of text mining, and document similarity network analysis. The data used in this study were 145 articles written on the subject of Records Management & Archival Science selected from five major representative journals in the field of Library & Information Science in Korea, published from 2001 to 2006. The results of cluster analysis show that the core subject areas are "electronic records management and digital Preservation," "records management policy and institution," "records description and catalogues." and "records management domain and education." The results of document analysis, which is more detailed than cluster analysis, show that "digital archiving," a specialized subject in digital preservation, plays a central role. The results of serial analysis, which proceeds according to a timeline, show the emergence of "archival services" as a new subject area.

  • This study performed to identify the relationship between job stress and self-efficacy based on the related research review and text network analysis. For the literature review, we performed the search process at three domestic and one foreign database using key words, 'nurse', 'stress', 'self-efficacy'. A total of 18 papers were selected as the target literature. Nine of these studies reported a statistically significant negative correlation between nurses' job stress and self-efficacy. It was difficult to compare between studies' results because of the optional usage of the questionnaires. In addition, a text network analysis was conducted by extracting keywords from the 18 papers. The keyword with the highest frequency of appearance was job stress, and the main words with high frequency of emergence were self-efficacy, hospital, and correlation. To clarify the relationship between the keywords, it is proposed to perform a survey on the influence factors through the development of Korean version measurement.

  • Myanmar was successful in increasing its sustainable development index during the three years period from 2018 to 2020. However, the index began to decline since 2021. This study aims to analyze both the success factors and obstacles for sustainable development in Myanmar. Using the search terms 'Myanmar' and 'sustainability', online news items were collected from January 2018 to December 2023 and were examined through text network analysis. The study identified the following success factors that contribute to sustainable development in Myanmar: foreign investments, private companies' participation in the effort, human resource development projects, and the use of new and renewable energy. The inhibition factors for the development efforts identified were: government's coercive/restrictive policies, labor rights violations, and forest degradation. The findings of this study provide useful insights for understanding the current status of sustainability in Myanmar from academic and practical perspectives. The results also present benchmarking information for policy-makers in Myanmar and other similar developing countries that are searching for strategic directions in their sustainable development efforts.

  • This paper describes the implementations of the first application service based on embedded Linux; Mobile Teller which uses WiBro network for data communications and CDMA network for voice communications. Currently, with the appearance of WiBro service, dual-mode terminals which support two heterogeneous networks are available. But, the development of applications which effectively use these networks for providing better service to user is rarely prepared. At Mobile Teller, when a sender on a dual-mode terminal types texts, the texts are transmitted to a TTS server located in the Internet through WiBro network. Subsequently, the TTS server converts the texts into voices and transmits the voice data to the dual-mode terminal. At last the dual-mode terminal sends the voice to the receiver through the CDMA network. In case of noisy environment or when a user has difficulty in speaking, Mobile Teller makes voice communication possible

  • We can get answers we want to know via questioning in Knowledge Search Service (KSS) based on Q&A Community. However, it is getting more difficult to find credible documents in enormous documents, since many anonymous users regardless of credibility are participate in answering on the question. In previous works in KSS, researchers evaluated the quality of documents based on textual information, e.g. recommendation count, click count and non-textual information, e.g. answer length, attached data, conjunction count. Then, the evaluation results are used for enhancing search performance. However, the non-textual information has a problem that it is difficult to get enough information by users in the early stage of Q&A. The textual information also has a limitation for evaluating quality because of judgement by partial factors such as answer length, conjunction counts. In this paper, we propose the QualityRank algorithm to improve the problem by textual and non-textual information. This algorithm ranks the relevant and credible answers by considering textual/non-textual information and user centrality based on Social Network Analysis(SNA). Based on experimental validation we can confirm that the results by our algorithm is improved than those of textual/non-textual in terms of ranking performance.

  • This study has measured interdisciplinarity using a topic modeling, which automatically extracts sub-topics based on term information appeared in documents group unlike the traditional top-down approach employing the references and classification system as a basis. We used titles and abstracts of the articles published in top 20 journals for the past five years by the 5-year impact factor under the category of 'Information & Library Science' in JCR 2013. We applied 'Discipline Diversity' and 'Network Coherence' as factors in measuring interdisciplinarity; 'Shannon Entropy Index' and 'Stirling Diversity Index' were used as indices to gauge diversity of fields while topic network's average path length was employed as an index representing network cohesion. After classifying the types of interdisciplinarity with the diversity and cohesion indices produced, we compared the topic networks of journals that represent each type. As a result, we found that the text-based diversity index showed different ranking when compared to the reference-based diversity index. This signifies that those two indices can be utilized complimentarily. It was also confirmed that the characteristics and interconnectedness of the sub-topics dealt with in each journal can be intuitively understood through the topic networks classified by considering both the diversity and cohesion. In conclusion, the topic modeling-based measurement of interdisciplinarity that this study proposed was confirmed to be applicable serving multiple roles in showing the interdisciplinarity of the journals.
