  • Tunnel structures are constructed even longer and more extensive these days than they were in the past. Because of this reason, breaking out a large scale of fire in tunnel structures is frequently. Recently, a noticeable event is reported that the temperature of inside of tunnel rises significantly when an oil car detonated in the tunnel and it reached 1,350$^{\circ}$C. It did damage to people who used the tunnel at that time and caused many demaged parts of tunnel to recover. To improve a fire resistance of tunnel, many methods are studied focused refractory concrete and mortar. This study deals with refractory mortar and is a part of initial basic step. In this study mechanical properties are considered before fire resistance test. As result of test for examination of mechanical properties, it is considered that a consistency and strength of refractory mortar in this study are suitable to construct.

Evaluation of fire-proofing performance of reinforced concrete tunnel lining coated by newly developed material (신개발 내화재료에 피복된 철근콘크리트 터널라이닝의 내화성능평가)

  • Efficient traffic network is required in urban area for good living condition. However, dense traffic network creates traffic jam and gives bad influences to the ground environment. Therefore, advanced use of underground and tunnel is required. But, in the last 20 years many tunnel fire accidents have occurred all over the world. Increase of tunnels and increase of traffics result in increase of tunnel fire. Tunnel fire creates damage to people and to the tunnel structure. Also, tunnel fire creates a big economical loss. In a mountain tunnel, the stability of the tunnel will not be disturbed by fire although the tunnel lining will get a severe damage. However, in a shield tunnel or immersed tube tunnel, cut and cover tunnel, there is a high possibility that tunnel itself will collapse by fire because their tunnel concrete lining is designed as a structural member. The aim of this experimental research is to verify the fire protection performance of newly developed cementitious material compared with the broadly used existing products in Europe and Japan. For the experiments, the general NATM tunnel concrete linings with the newly developed material were tested using fire loading curve of RABT (Maximum peak temperature is $1,200^{\circ}C$) and RWS (Maximum peak temperature is $1,350^{\circ}C$). From the test results, the newly developed fire protection material applied with 30 mm thickness showed good fire-proofing performance under RABT fire loading.

  • The spalling phenomenon occurs in high-strength concrete when several factors such as sharp temperature increase, high water content, low water/cement ratio and local stress concentration in material combine in the concrete material. On the basis of the factors, the preventing methods from the spalling are known as reduction of temperature increase, preventing of concrete fragmentation and fast drying of internal moisture. In this study, the reduction of temperature increase was proposed as the most effective spalling-preventing method among the spalling-preventing methods. Engineered cementitious composite for fireproof and repair materials was developed in order to protect the new and existing RC structures form exterior deterioration factors such as fire, cloride ion, etc. This study was carried out to estimate the fire-resisting performance of high strength concrete slab or tunnel lining by repaired engineered cementitious composite (ECC) or fiber reinforcement cemetitious composite (FRCC) under fire temperature curve. and them we will descrike the result of HIDA tunnel in Japan.

  • 최근 국내에서는 대심도 터널 시공계획이 발표되면서 터널 구조물에 대한 방재 및 내화설계에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 화재 발생 시 문제가 발생할 수 있는 콘크리트 라이닝의 내화설계를 위해서는 보다 구체적인 내화성능을 측정하기 위한 내화실험이 실시되어야 한다. 현재 국내에서는 건축물의 내화성능을 평가하기 위한 시험평가 방법이 제시되어 있는 상태이나 터널 구조물에 대한 시험법이나 성능평가는 거의 전무한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 구조물의 화재손상 정도를 평가하기 위해 현장에서 사용되고 있는 터널 라이닝을 대상으로 화재 시 콘크리트 라이닝의 손상정도를 평가하였다. 실험은 대표적인 터널 화재시나리오 곡선인 RABT 화재 시나리오를 적용하였으며 폭렬방지에 효과적인 것으로 알려져있는 fiber cocktail(강섬유+폴리프로필렌섬유)의 혼입여부에 따른 성능평가도 함께 실시하였다.

  • 최근 건설 중인 금정터널(총 연장 20.3km)이나 부산-거제간 침매터널은 화재 발생시 구조체의 강도저하로 인한 붕괴 및 사회기반시설인 교통망을 장시간 끊어놓은 등 큰 피해를 야기시킬 수 있다. 이러한 초장대터널이나 침매터널은 다른 터널보다 밀폐된 공간이므로 화재 시 단시간에 급격하게 온도상승이 일어날 수 있으며 이로 인해 구조물의 주재료인 콘크리트의 폭렬이 발생하고 구조물 내부까지 고온이 전달되어 경우에 따라 구조체의 붕괴의 원인이 되기도 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 구조체의 내화성능을 확보하기 위해 유럽에서 사용되고 있는 터널내화용 보드와 모르타르를 적용한 콘크리트의 내화성능 확보방안을 위한 시험을 수행하였다. 실험에 대한 내화성능 평가는 ITA(International Tunneling Association)에서 정한 화재 손상범위를 평가기준으로 하였고 터널화재 시나리오는 네덜란드의 TNO에 의해 실행된 실험결과를 따른 RWS 화재곡선을 이용하여 수행하였다.

Review of fire resistance evaluation and fire resistance method of concrete segment lining for fire in tunnel (터널 내 화재발생에 대한 콘크리트 세그먼트 라이닝의 내화성 평가 및 내화방법에 대한 고찰)

  • Various tunnels such as road, subway, and railway are under construction and operation. Various types of linings are used for structural stability of tunnel structures, and concrete segment linings are mainly installed in TBM tunnel construction. In this paper, when a fire occurs in a tunnel, the impact on the concrete segment lining, which is the structure in the tunnel, and related standards, fire resistance evaluation and fire resistance method are investigated through literature review and related contents are presented. Through this, it is intended to provide an information for practitioners to secure the safety of concrete segment linings against tunnel fires.

An Experimental Study on the Application of Fireproof Panel in Tunnel Duct Slab (터널 풍도슬라브에 사용된 내화패널의 적용성에 관한 실험연구)

  • Purpose: In this study,fire-resistance test were executed to evaluate the effectiveness of the fireproof panel attached to the PSC slab in tunnel. Method: For the fire resistance test, the RWS curve was applied and the furnace of the KICT was used. Result: As a result of the experiment, the maximum temperature measured on the concrete surface of the PSC slab with the fireproof panel was 321.8℃, which was lower than the damage limit temperature of 380℃ for concrete. Also, at the t=25mm, the maximum temperature was 35.2℃, which was lower than the damage temperature of steel, 250℃. The use of precast fire resistance panel(t=30mm) improves fire resistance of PSC structures. Conclusion: As a result of the test, a reinforcement method for attached a fireproof panel in case of fire in a tunnel or an underground roadway is provided to protect a structure from fire. In the future, it is necessary to perform the static performance test of the slab to which the fireproof panel is attached, and to confirm the adhesion performance of the fireproof panel by performing the pull-off test and the fatigue test.

  • 화재에 대한 안전성 확보는 ECC 등과 같은 신소재를 실제 구조물에 적용 또는 실용화하기 위해 필요한 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 본 논문은 터널구조물에 대한 내화대책의 일환으로써 ECC의 적용가능성을 평가하고자 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 터널구조물의 화재 온도조건인 RABT 화재온도이력곡선을 적용하여 내화성능을 실험적으로 평가하였다. 또한 비정상 온도분포해석 기법을 이용하여 이를 해석적으로 묘사 검증하였으며, 실험결과를 통해 검증된 해석기법을 이용하여 터널라이닝에 대한 열전달 해석을 수행하여 ECC의 적용가능성을 고찰하였다. 실험결과 ECC는 폭렬 및 화재상태에서의 모체콘크리트에 열화가 발생하지 않았으며, 기존 콘크리트 및 내화소재와의 상대 비교에 있어서도 가장 우수한 내화성능을 나타냈다. 이를 통하여 터널구조물의 내화대책에 있어 ECC 소재가 적용가능성이 있는 것으로 판단되었다.

  • A variety of research projects have been undertaken due to the recent catastrophic tunnel fires throughout the world, Among them, more emphasis was given to full scale and scale model fire experiments, and recently the area of fire resistance of tunnel structures attract more interests, On the contrary to the cases in most of the advanced countries where design standards as well as recommendations have already been announced, no local criteria for design can be found, This paper aims at deriving the fire characteristics appropriate for the assessment criteria of fire resistance of structures in local tunnels through studying the existing fire temperature curves including ISO 834 standard temperature curve, HC curve, RWS curve, ZTV curve and EBA curve.
