Deterioration and Abnormality Condition Diagnosis through Measuring the DC Capacitor Capacity of PV Inverter (태양광 인버터의 DC 커패시터 용량 측정을 통한 열화 및 이상상태 진단)

  • DC capacitors used in PV inverters have a relatively short lifespan compared to other power semiconductor devices and have a failure rate of 60%, making them the most vulnerable among the elements that make up a power conversion system (PCS). In addition, the lifespan of the capacitor varies depending on environmental factors, greatly affecting the lifespan and operating conditions of PV inverters and PV power generation systems. Therefore, research is needed on the development of inverter deterioration diagnostic sensor technology optimized for building-integrated and general PV power generation systems and the development of bypass compensation capacitor modules that can maintain the efficiency of the inverter in the event of a failure. Based on this research, the DC capacitor deterioration diagnosis module inside the PV inverter measures the capacity of the actual internal components and can check the trend information of the deterioration state in the long term, enabling rapid response to fires. In addition, it seeks to improve the efficiency of power generation facilities and reduce carbon emissions, and prevents electrical fires, allowing the PV power generation system to be maintained in optimal condition.

  • 본고에서는 차세대 박막형 CIGS 태양전지 기술과 IT 기술활용에 대하여 알아보았다. CIGS 태양전지 소자의 구성, 셀 및 모듈 제조공정 기술 현황 및 도전과제를 제시하였으며 특히, 박막형 태양광발전 산업화에 필요한 요인들과 해결해야 될 기술적 이슈들을 제시하였다. 태양광발전은 반도체 pn-접합에 흡수된 빛을 단순히 전기로 변환시키는 것이기 때문에 폐기물도 발생하지 않는 환경 친화적인 미래의 그린에너지 기술이다. 박막형 태양전지는 첨다 IT 기술인 반도체 및 디스플레이 기술을 활용하면 산업화를 앞당길 수 있기 때문에 우리의 세계수준의 IT기술을 이용한 산업화 방안에 대하여 논의하였다.

  • In this paper, a software development for design of the small photovoltaic system which is used to LED lighting is presented. For optimal design of photovoltaic systems, the operating power consumption of the LED load is considered to estimate the capacity of the solar module and battery. In order to give system design engineers a high ease of use, the software tool provides a graphical user interface and monitoring function to check operation of the system prior to installation.

  • The potential induced degradation (PID) phenomenon of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules has been often found in outdoor PV systems until recently since firstly reported in 2010. Many studies have been conducted about the mechanism and the preventive methods, but systematic diagnosis of the PID has not been applied on-site. This paper focuses on analysis of 5 categories and 10 PID diagnosis methods using the monitoring data, light current-voltage, dark current-voltage, infrared and electroluminescence. We expect to contribute to improvement of power generation through PID diagnosis and troubleshooting in PV plants.

Photo-Sensorless Solar Tracking System based on Modular Structure and IoT Technology (모듈화 구조와 IoT 기반의 광센서리스 태양광 추적 시스템)

  • This paper proposes a solar tracking system without photo-sensors. The system can be classified into four modules: Solar Tracking, MPPT, ESS, and Real-Time Monitoring. Nine solar panels, as a basic unit, are adopted with grid structures of different heights to reduce wind influence and to enable solar tracking without photo-sensors. The low-cost MCU implements MPPT method which generates PWM switching signal for boost converter. The unit of ESS consists of three-series and four-parallel lithium-ion batteries in order to enable monitoring for abnormalities in temperature and electrical characteristics of battery. Four MCUs used in the system consists of two AVR Atmega128, and two Raspberry PI, and they exchanges operation informations. Experimental results of the proposed system show the solar tracking performance, the possibility of on-site and remote monitoring and the convenience of maintenance based on IoT technology.

  • 테슬라가 2016년 11월 17일 솔라시티를 인수한 이후 태양광 산업 관련 첫 제품으로 솔라루프를 출시하였다. 솔라루프는 태양광 충전이 가능한 지붕 타일의 형태를 띠고 있다. 테슬라의 솔라루프는 테슬라가 에너지에 관한 모든 시스템과 서비스를 생산 및 판매하는 회사로 거듭나기 위한 과정을 보여주는 것이다. 목표를 달성하기 위해 테슬라는 부채가 높은 솔라시티를 인수했으며, 파나소닉과 태양전지 및 모듈 분야에 기술협약을 체결하였다. 테슬라는 기존의 업체와는 다른 경로와 마케팅으로 시장을 장악해나갔다. 본고는 전기자동차가 자동차 시장에 미친 파장처럼 테슬라의 솔라루프도 태양전지 시장에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 것인지에 대해 시사점을 전달하고자 주요 문헌 내용을 요약, 정리하였다.

Long-Term Experiments of Cooling/Cleaning on Surface of 200-kW PV Power Array (200kW 급 태양광발전 어레이 표면의 냉각/세정에 대한 장기 실증 실험)

  • In general, the solar photovoltaic power increases with higher solar insolation. However, the solar cell generation efficiency reduces because the solar cell surface is heated by solar insolation. According to advanced research, with a $1^{\circ}C$ increase in the solar cell surface temperature, the generation efficiency decreases by ~0.5%. To solve this problem, we conducted experiments in which we attempted to reduce the solar cell surface temperature using a water jet spray. In this study, we found the long-term experimental results of increases in solar power generation. The experimental results show a comparison of the site with and without cooling and cleaning equipment being installed. The results of the long-term experiments show that solar photovoltaic power generation is increased by at least 13% up to 19% with cooling and cleaning.

  • Recently, it is increasing a amount of installized solar-cell rapidly, and waste Solar cell module are generated in according to the reduction of efficiency largely. Therefore, it is concerned at the environmental problems and recycling of valuable materials, greatly. The treatment processes of end-of-life photovoltaic modules are composed the disassembly of Aluminum frames, separation of Tempered glass, removal of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate and recovery of valuable Metals. For the efficient recycling, we are considered to the treatment technology seriously. And we are proposed on the general opinions according to the developing technology, EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) problems and promotion plans for the activation of recycling industry.

  • Recently, the efficient management system for photovoltaic power plants has been required due to the continuously increasing construction of photovoltaic power plants. In this paper, we propose a cloud-based intelligent management system for many photovoltaic power plants. The proposed system stores the measured data of power plants using Hadoop HBase which is a column-oriented database, and processes the calculations of performance, efficiency, and prediction the amount of power generation by parallel processing based on Map-Reduce model. And, Web-based data visualization module allows the administrator to provide information in various forms.
