The subjects of the study were 620 students of a junior college in the D metropolitan city. The data was collected from July 2 to July 31, 2012 and SPSS/WIN 18.0 program was used to analyze the data. From the comparison of CAM recognition between the two groups. There were significant differences for each item of CAM recognition. For the attitude on CAM, there were significant differences between the two groups. There needs to be more follow-up studies based on the current study in order to establish the basic data that can help find specific educational methods for the areas of CAM that lack recognition from the students.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects on nursing students' knowledge, attitude towards dementia and about awareness of elderly care. The study participants were 288 nursing students from K' university on May 7 to 14, 2019.The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 20,0 program. The results revealed that students acquired knowledge of dementia by grade and religion as per general characteristics. The knowledge, attitude towards dementia and awareness of elderly care showed statistically significant differences in experience of care and education about dementia. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the awareness of elderly care with knowledge (r = .105, p = 038) and attitude towards dementia (r = .556, p = 000). The students' attitude was explained about 31.3% in awareness of elderly care. As a findings, there is need to develop and apply a structured education program on dementia based on individual and group characteristics of nursing students. Also, it is recommended to provide continuous education and feedback.

  • This study was conducted to understand the effect of team-based clinical practice education using conceptual maps on the learning attitude, self-directed learning, and critical thinking of nursing students. The subjects of this study were 80 nursing college students taking clinical practice courses. Data analysis was performed with descriptive statistics and paired t-test using SPSS 22.0 program. As a result of the study, it was found that the learning attitude (p< .000), self-directed learning (p< .000), and critical thinking (p< .000) scores were statistically significantly improved before and after education. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to develop and apply a systematic team-based clinical practice program using concept maps to nursing students, and this result can be used as a variety of teaching-learning methods that reflect the characteristics of the subject.

  • Perpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of death between Korean and Chinese nursing students. And it will help develop curriculum for preparing death, the quality of hospice care, as well as nursing education and practice. Methods: Data was collected from 492 nursing students participated(248 Korean and 244 Chinese) by questionnaire designed for examining Death Orientation (Thorson & Powell, 1988). They were analyzed using Cronbach's Alpha coefficients, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis (SPSS; win 12.0 version) Results: More than half of the Korean nursing students followed a religion (58.5%) while the majority of Chinese nursing students did not follow a religion (93.9%). In the view of the afterlife, nursing students in China had two views. 'I really don't know what happens after a person dies (30.3%)' and ‘There is no afterlife and death is the end (29.5%)’. On the other hand the Korean nursing students’ answer were, 'After dying, a person goes to heaven or hell (27.3%)' and 'I really don't know what happens after a person dies. (22.9%)' The study also found that the average of 25 items in Death Orientation is 2.36points of nursing students in Korea and 2.50points of nursing students in China. This means that the concern, anxiety and fear were of the middle level for the Chinese Students and were higher than Korean students (t=3.51, p=.000). In the low factor of death orientation, those in Korea had higher 'anxiety of burden to family' than those in China (t=-3.50, p=.001). The nursing students in China had higher 'anxiety of the unknown (t=4.96, p=.000)', 'fear of suffering (t=6.88, p=.000), 'fear of extinction body and life (t=5.20, p=.000), 'fear of lost self-control(t=2.12, p=.034)', and 'anxiety of future existence and nonexistence (t=2.33, p=.020)' than those in Korea. There was no statistically significant difference for the 'concern of body and fear of identity lost' category. The death orientation of Korean nursing students had statistically significant differences according to age (t=3.20, p=.002), religion (t=2.56, p=.011), and afterlife (F=4.64, p=.000). The contribution of Death Orientation had a statistically significant difference, the afterlife variable (0.735, p=0.001). The death orientation of Chinese nursing students did not have any statistically significant differences. Conclusion: In conclusion, there were differences in death orientation between Korean and Chinese nursing students. In particular, those who believed in afterlife showed acceptance of death. The results of this study suggest that nursing curricula should include education program on death and spiritual nursing. Additional studies are needed to establish death education in China with careful considerations on Chinese policies, cultures and social systems.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing empathy with the elderly in student nurses and to provide the basic data on nursing education to improve empathy. Data were collected from 277 student nurses in B and C cities and analyzed by the t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression using SPSS WIN 20.0. The degree of empathy with the elderly in the student nurses was $214.66{\pm}22.72$. There were positive correlations between empathy and attitude of the elderly (r=.224, p<.001) and between empathy and facilitative communication (r=.346, p<.001), and these factors explained 15.4% of the empathy with the elderly. These results indicated that it is necessary to develop a nursing education program and curriculum for increasing empathy in student nurses.

The data were collected from 216 nursing students in the two colleges located Jeonnam and December 03 2018 to December 07 2018. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS 20.0 program. The result of the multiple regression indicates the perception on hospice, gender, intention to execute advance directives and influence of religion on one's life predict 29.7% (F=12.566, P=.000) of attitudes toward advance directives. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a program to establish attitudes toward advance directives by providing professional education on perception on hospice of nursing students.
