Today, with countless health information being accessible through online and offline, the public has been able to explore health-related information in various ways. The current study focuses on the information-seeking behavior of the mothers who actively explore information related to the health of their healthy infants (aged between 0 and 3 years). The researcher had conducted in-depth interviews of 24 American, Korean, and Korean immigrant mothers living in the United States, and then analyzed the sequential order of the information sources that they have used to search for the health-related information about their children. The current research highlights that the mothers' information-seeking pathways and searched topics tended to differ in accordance with their child(ren)'s health conditions (e.g., ill vs. healthy). For instance, regarding the information sources used, more diverse health information sources (e.g., public libraries, government health agencies, daycare teachers) were used when their child(ren) was not ill. In addition, when a child was ill, mothers were likely to focus on information about specific diseases or symptoms first, whereas when the child was healthy, they used to explore information on various health topics such as growth and development, nutrition and diets, parenting, and so on. Based on the results, implications for the information professionals are discussed when designing and providing health-related information services to mothers of healthy infants and toddlers.

In this paper, we conducted for information search process of users, who have experience to buy paid-application in Appstore, to find out difference of information searching efforts and information sources, reliance on the information in term of attributes of Apps and buyes' innovativenss. As a result, Innovative buyers take a effort to search various information source but they get help buying decision-making supports by own their efforts like searching in category. On the other hand, non-Innovative buyers who search informtion less than Innovative buyers, get information like recommendation from friend and Apps, then they keep those information help buying decision-making supports highly. Besides buyers of Utility Apps search on objective information sources mainly, but those sources have influence on buying decision-making supports. On the other side buyers of Enjoyment Apps consider reliance on the information more than information searching efforts to buying decision-making supports as they get information source like popularity. This research suggests operators of Appstore and app developers how to promote their Apps to users.

우리는 지금 경제적, 사회적, 기술적으로 매우 중대한 전화기에 처해 있다. 세계적으로는 기술보호주의와 국제적인 물질특허의 장벽을 넘어야함과 동시에 국내적으로는 건강한 삶, 깨끗한 환경, 풍요로운 사회건설을 통한 복짓회의 구현이 강력하게 요망되고 있기 때문이다. 이와같은 당면과제를 슬기롭게 극복하고 다가오는 21세기의 과학기술 선진국으로 진입하기 위하여는 여러가지 연구부문을 생각할 수 있겠지만, 특히 미생물 내지는 천연물로부터 다양한 대사기능을 갖는 새로운 생리활성 선도물질(lead moldecule)의 탐색연구가 매우 중요하리라 생각된다. 이는 국제적인 물질특허제도 등의 기술보호주의 장벽을 넘을 수 있음과 동시에 부가가치가 높고 세계시장을 확보할 수 있는 거대시장이 기다리고 있기 때문이다. 따라서 현재 정부정책 연구사업으로 추진하고 있는 G7 신기능 생물소재 연구 중 생리활성 선도물질 탐색기술 개발연구가 중과제로 선택된 것은 아주 시기적절한 결정이었다고 할 수 있다.

Detection outliers and robust estimators are crucial in regression models with outliers. In such studies the focus is on detecting outliers and estimating the coefficients using leave-one-out. Our study introduces Rice estimator which is an error variance estimator without estimating the coefficients. In particular, we study a comparison of the statistical properties for Rice estimator with and without outliers in simple regression models.

Genetic Algorithms(GAs ; 유전자 알고리즘)은 자연적 선택(natural selection)의 유전적인 메카니즘에 기초한 탐색 알고리즘(search algo-rithms)이다. GA는 세대(generation)를 거듭함에 따라 어떤 최적화화하는 해에 수렴해가는 탐색 알고리즘으로 전세대의 우수개체로부터 새로운 세대의 개체들이 집합이 형성되는 과정을 이용한 탐색 알고리즘이다. GA에 대한 최근의 활발한 연구와 많은 관심은 주로 기존의 기법이 특정 영역의 지식을 많이 필요로하는데 비해서 GA는 효율적인 영역독립 탐색경험들의 집합을 제공하여 최적해를 얻는 기법으로서 전역함수 최적화와 NP 등의 문제에 유용하다는 연구결과가 제시되고 있기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 GA에 대한 명확한 이해와 세대의 형성 , 개체를 선택하기 위한 타당한 연산자(operator)에 관한 내용을 고찰하고, GA가 언제, 어떻게 사용되는가에 대해 응용사례를 중심으로 GA의 향후 연구방향에 대해 논의하고 GA가 앞으로 어떤 분야에서 어떻게 발전해 나가야 할 지에 대한 과제에 대해 논의한다.

The primary questions addressed by this research are the followings: Has the interface of a Web-based OPAC been improved more user-friendly; How about its searching abilities; What difficulties have Web-based OPAC searchers experienced in using a Web OPAC; How do they perceive the system after use of it. Finding the answers of those questions the problems of a Web OPAC as a searching tool have been grasped and recommendations have been suggested in order to improve the system. An experiment was conducted and 30 university students performed 8 searching tasks. The searching behavior of Web OPAC searchers has been analyzed thoroughly. The data of their perceptions about the system was collected through a questionnaire after completing the tasks.

This study examines the effects of the judgment of information quality and cognitive authority on Web searching behavior. Sixteen scholars from diverse disciplines participated in the experiments, and the data were collected combining search logs, think-aloud during the searches, and post-search interviews in the laboratory setting. The results identified two distinct kinds of judgment, predictive judgment and evaluative judgment. The facets of judgment and criteria used for making Judgments of quality and authority were analyzed associated with the types of task, status of users, and discipline areas of users.

In this paper, a study on the seeker technology in guided weapon system development. Seeker is guided weapons mounted on the device that is targeted for implementation homing guided looking for confirmation of the target after picking up, tracking, command, induce calculations necessary to induce the target's direction or control device to provide location information to perform a series of features. Therefore, the Seeker is guided weapons systems and important device that determines the performance of one guided control. Explorer is a tactical and strategy guided weapons from different goals and specifications of weapons systems development and encourage economic efficiency, Interoperability, designed to improve the reliability and hit requirements and the more numerous. Therefore, this research through the Explorer's attributes and weapons systems encourage the development direction of the technical details of the offer.

The purpose of this study is to identify th patterns in the news reporters' information seeking behaviors by observing their web activities. For this purpose, transaction logs collected from 23 news reporters were analyzed. Web tracking software was installed to collect the data from their PCs, and a total of 39,860 web logs were collected in two weeks. Start and end pattern of sessions, transitional pattern by step, sequence rule model was analyzed and the pattern of Internet use was compared with the general public. the analysis of pattern derived a web information seeking behavior modes that consists of four types of behaviors: fact-checking browsing, fact-checking search, investigative browsing and investigative search.
