A Study on the Implementation of a Web-browser-based Global e-Navigation Service Discovery System for Decentralized Maritime Service Registries (탈중앙화 MSR 환경에서의 웹 브라우저 기반 글로벌 이내비게이션 서비스 검색 시스템 구현에 대한 연구)

  • The flow of global digitalization is leading to the emergence of a decentralized system environment based on blockchain or distributed ledger technology in the fields of economy, identity authentication, and logistics. Accordingly, a requirement that public services be searchable from several decentralized maritime service registries (MSRs) has been derived in terms of the discoverability of e-navigation services. This study describes a decentralized MSR environment composed of the MSR ledger and multiple local MSRs, and it has implemented a service search system that can search global e-navigation services in the environment through a web browser. This system is a decentralized application that dynamically generates service attributes, geometry information, and free text queries, and that provides users with relevant MSR and service access information from search results that are registered in the MSR ledger. In this study, we tested the established decentralized MSR environment and the system that performs service search within that environment, and we discussed its advantages and limitations.

  • 오늘날 중요한 키워드로 꼽히는 블록체인은 탈중앙화를 핵심으로 하는 기술이며, DApp은 블록체인 플랫폼 기반의 분산형 애플리케이션이다. 본 논문에서는 블록체인 기반의 코인 시스템이 구축된 대학생 커뮤니티 애플리케이션을 개발하고자 한다. 애플리케이션의 사용자들은 각 게시판에서 지식과 정보를 공유하고 코인을 획득할 수 있다. 코인 시스템은 블록체인 네트워크와 애플리케이션이 연결됨으로써 애플리케이션을 통해 스마트 컨트랙트를 발행하는 방식이다. 또한, 블록체인 기술을 통해 유효한 가치를 가진 글은 영구적으로 보관할 수 있으며 획득한 코인으로는 현실의 재화로 교환할 수 있다. 본 애플리케이션을 통해 대학생들이 더 넓은 소통 창구를 가질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A Private Key Management Guideline For Secure Blockchain-Based Services (안전한 블록체인 기반 서비스를 위한 개인키 관리 가이드라인)

  • A blockchain-based decentralized service can offer reliable services without the centralized server by operating the system based on the consensus among byzantine participants. Participants can interact with the blockchain network through a digital signature mechanism but the private key management issue remains unresolved. NIST SP800-57 provides a key-management guidance but this guidance is not appropriate for blockchain-based services because it does not consider a decentralized environment. In this paper, we define the core functions of the blockchain wallet application for private key management and present security protections according to NIST SP800-57, as well as related techniques to satisfy them. Finally, we propose the private key management guideline for secure blockchain-based decentralized services.

  • Blockchain is considered as an innovative technology along with Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Internet of Things. However, since the inception of the genesis of blockchain technology, the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, the technology is not utilized widely, not let alone disruptive applications. Most of the blockchain research deals with the cryptocurrency, general descriptions of the technology such as trend, outlook of the technology, explanation of component technology, and so on. There are no killer applications like Facebook or Google, of course. Reflecting on the slow adoption by businesses, we wanted know about the current status of the research on blockchain in Korea. The main purpose of this paper is to help business practitioners to identify the application of blockchain to enhance the competitiveness of their organization. To do that, we first use the framework by Iansiti et al (2017) and categorize the blockchain related articles published in Korea according to the framework. This is to provide a benchmark or cases of other organizations' adoption of blockchain technology. Second, based on the value proposition of blockchain applications, we suggest evolutionary paths for adopting them. Third, from the demand pull perspective of technology adoption for innovation, we propose applicable areas where blockchain applications can be introduced. Fourth, we use the value chain model to find out the appropriate domains of blockchain applications in the corporate value chains. And the five competitive forces models is adopted to find ways of lowering the power of forces by incorporating blockchain technology.

  • Blockchain technology began in 2008 when an unidentified person named Satoshi Nakamoto proposed a cryptocurrency called Bitcoin. Satoshi Nakamoto had distrust of the existing financial system and wanted to implement a financial system that is robust against hacking or mannipulation without a middleman such as a bank through blockchain technology. Satoshi proposed a blockchain as a technology to prevent the creation of the bitcoin and forging of transactions, and through this, the functions of issuance, transaction, and verification of currency were implemented. Since then, Ethereum, a cryptocurrency that can implement the smart contract on the blockchain, has been developed, allowing financial products that require complex contracts such as deposits, loans, insurance, and derivatives to be brought into the area of cryptocurrency. In addition, it is expanding the possibility of substituting products provided by financial institutions through combination with real assets. These applications are defined as Decentralized Finance (DeFi). This paper was prepared to understand the overall technical understanding of DeFi and to introduce the services currently in operation. First, the technologies and ecosystems that implement the overall DeFi are explained, and then the representative DeFi services are categorized by feature and described.

Why do People Play P2E (Play-to-Earn) Games?: Focusing on Outcome Expectation and Social Influence (P2E(Play-to-Earn) 게임 지속이용의도에 대한 연구)

  • With the development of blockchain technology, play-to-earn (P2E) games, one of the decentralized applications (dApps), are receiving great social attention. P2E games are positively evaluated as areas with high growth potential based on blockchain technology, and at the same time, they are negatively evaluated as speculative as people can cash P2E game items in the form of cryptocurrency. In this situation, the purpose of this study is to investigate factors affecting the intention to use P2E games. Along with the discussion of hedonic system adoption, we consider the factors with perceived enjoyment, economic incentive, and social influence. In order to verify our research model, data were collected from 350 adults with P2E game experience or recognition, and a structural equation model was carried out. The analysis results find that perceived enjoyment and subjective norm have a significant positive effect on the intention to use P2E games, and economic incentive does not have a significant effect. In addition, peer influence and external influence have a significant positive effect on subjective norm. Drawing on these findings, we present several academic and practical implications for future research.
