  • The result can be summarized as follows. First, the following periodically changing characteristics were examined:roof form(gambrel/hipped-flat-gable), structure of roof and wall(wood-framed-cement masonry-RC-Light iron framed), roof material(thatched-tiled-slate-cement/steel sheet-asphalt/sandwich panel/mortar water-proofing), wall material(clay plaster/lime plastered-dressing tile/bricks-painting on the cement plastering-native stone dressing/siding/tile), fence material(masonry of stone and cement bricks), and courtyard materials(clay and concrete). Secondly, the regionally changing characteristics of those elements, rural housing structure, roof form, roof structure material, wall finishing material, fence and courtyard material in the outer space, differed according to the location of rural housing, i.e.north, middle, south region. The changing characteristics of both the roof structure and wall structure are similar to those of the three regions.

  • In this paper, it was to investigate different types of mortar properties using a chloride attack protection agent by evaluating mixing ratio of this particular agent, including 3% increments. The results showed that the compressive strength and chloride ion penetration resistance of mortar by using chloride attack protection agent were improved than non-added mortar.

  • The objective of this research was to engineer a tile module that could efficiently curtail the incidence of tile defects during the construction phase. To assess the potential diminution in defect manifestation, we executed experiments centered on surface condition, the variation in mass before and after the freeze-thaw test, and adhesive strength. Our findings demonstrated that thermal contraction and expansion induced a relatively escalated frequency of defects in the underwater setting for the aluminum mesh, while the steel mesh saw a higher defect incidence in the air environment. Additionally, it was noted that the adhesive strength exhibited a trend towards augmentation as the mesh size dwindled. Collectively, these results suggest that the employment of smaller mesh sizes can foster improved adhesive strength, consequently diminishing tile defects. Further exploration and development of the tile module, informed by these insights, can substantially enhance the efficacy of the construction process.

  • This study aims to find out the reason that tile adhesive(type III) for ceramic tile does not harden under some conditions especially high humidity even though long curing time. Bonding strength of adhesive between substrate and ceramic tile is evaluated depending on bonding conditions such as substrate kind(concrete, board), bonding material (tile adhesive, tile cement) and curing condition(humidity 50, 70%). Based on the results, this study aimed to establish the quality of tile adhesion strength under the relevant conditions.

  • Recently, the use of TiO2 as a phtocatalyst has been diversely investigated due to its excellent durability performance and high photocatalytic reaction efficiency. Active researches have particularly focused on the development of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites in order to remove the atmospheric pollutants. Furthermore, the potential utilization of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites as road accessories such as tunnels, road median separators and soundproof walls in the form of tiles, blocks and structural components has been widely examined. In this regard, a thorough understanding on the material characteristics of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites should be preceded. The present overview article, therefore, revisits previous studies of TiO2-incorporated cementitious composites and summarizes their various physicochemical properties and atmospheric pollutants removal performance.

  • This research analyzes the properties of mortar following the rise in water-cement ratio and applicability as an eco-friendly construction supply by using the mudflats of a dredged arena as a substitute for aggregate. The results of a experiment of the flow showed that the flow value decreases as the amount of mudflats increases. A test for chloride content showed that the chloride content increases with the amount of mudflats. In the compression of specimen mixed with mudflat and the testing of tensile strength, the strength weakened as the addition ratio of mudflats rose. However, with 14-day strength as the standard, most specimen showed more strength than the plain, and 14-day strength was higher than 28-day strength. It appears to be experimental error in the mixing process from the viscosity and cohesion of mudflats, and it is considered that there will be a need for an experiment on mixing methods of mudflats in the future. The compressive strength of this research was the strongest with 70% in water-cement ratio, and the tensile strength was strongest with 80% in water-cement ratio. In the evaluation of surface analysis, 70% water-cement ratio, which is finest in strength, mixing, and compactness, was selected to analyze the roughness of the surface, and the results showed that the surface became smoother as the addition ratio of mudflats increases. In conclusion, it appears that 70% water-cement ratio is the optimal mixing ratio for mortar and 10 to 30% addition ratio of mudflats the optimal ratio. It also appears that the application of interior finishing material like bricks and tiles and interior plastering material using the mudflats are possible.
