  • According as the quantity of goods transported by ship is increasing, a port environment is rapidly changing To meet this situation successfully, the development of the next generation port loading and unloading system(LMTT) is studied A Frame of shuttle car for LMTT(Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology) consists of three parts which are outer beam, inner beam and cross beam In this study, we carried out the finite element analysis for the effect of cross beam on the strength and stiffness of the frame according to the number of cross beam, loading position of container, the distance ratio of inner beam from center. The result is as follow ; When the load is applied on outer beam and inner beam concurrently and the number of cross beam is 5, that is the optimum condition in frame design.

  • This study is the basic research to develop the customized base module for modular road system. A case study was carried out on designs of base module for soft soil condition. Two types of base module was proposed; crossbeam module and crossbeam-pile module. Based on the case study, it was verified crossbeam-pile module is suitable for soft soil condition and the optimum dimension of crossbeam-pile module for modular road system constructed on soft soil was determined. For development of the optimal base modular for modular road system, it is needed in the future to build a data base about ground and roadbed of road construction sites and to classify and systemized base modules according to soil conditions through many case studies.

  • This report investigates the stress distribution according to the location and shape change of the circular hole for the lightweight design of the cross beam of a railway passenger car and studies the lightweight design. To design a lightweight cross beam with a circular hole, we selected the non-circular crossbeam as a basic model, examined the stress distribution and displacement by position and determined the location, shape, size and quantity of the hole for light weight. We analyzed the effects of the position and shape of the hole on the maximum equivalent stress and displacement. The influencing factors were set as the design parameters, and the stress value was examined according to the variation of each variable. By considering the stress value according to the change of each variable and selecting the design parameter with the narrowest scattering value of the stress at each position of the hollow cross beam with various hole positions and shapes, we studied a cross beam with a circle hole under identical load condition to have an equal stress distribution to that of a non-circular cross beam.

  • This paper have derived an expression(the fringe modle is used) for the photocurrelation-correlation function for a cross-beam laser velocimeter, taking into account the effects of atmospheric turbulence on the amplitude and phase of the incident beams. the result, as long as the atmospheric disturbances do not greatly damp out sinusoidal variations of the photocurrent-correlation function in the time it takes a particle to travel the fringe-separation distance, the disturbances do not hinder the determination of the velocity of the partides from the correlation funtion.(the scattering particles are assumed to have a well-defined V).

  • Electric vehicle body has to be subjected to uniform load and demand auxiliary equipment such as air pipe, electric wire pipe and gas pipe. Especially, lightweight vehicle body is salutary to save operating costs and fuel consumption. Cross beam supports the weight of passenger and electrical equipments and account for the most of weight of vehicle body. Therefore this study performs the size and the shape optimization of crossbeam for electric vehicle using GENESIS 7.0 and presents the effect of mass reduction and the shape of hole in cross beam.

Therefore this study is to perform the size and the shape optimization of crossbeam for electric vehicle using the method of topology optimization to introduce the concept of homogenization based on optimality criteria method which is efficient for the problem having the number of design variables and a few boundary condition. this provides the method to determine the optimum position and shape of circular hole in the cross beam and then can achieve the optimal design to reduce weight.

This need to use adaptive design in initial design stage to gain economy through interchangeability between many kinds of components. This study performs the topology optimization by the concept of homogenization based on optimality criteria method which is efficient for the problem with a number of boundary condition and design variable. Therefore this provides the method to determine the optimum position and the shape of circular hole in the cross beam and then can achieve the weight minimization of electric vehicle body.

  • This paper proposes acoustic holographic measuring system to estimate an absolute position of sound source. Using the measured signals, the estimation of the position is calculated by the Cross-spectrum algorithm of the beamformed signal and a linear arrayed microphone's signals. As the results of comparing the reference microphone method with beamforming method through the measurement of sound field, the beamforming acoustic holographic method is progressed above 20 percent than that of a reference microphone method in the resolution, and the utility of the proposed system could be confirmed.

Design and Analysis to aluminize Car Cross Beam for Small Passenger Car (소형 승용차용 카 크로스 빔의 알루미늄화를 위한 설계 및 해석)

  • Car cross beam made by aluminium for new car is designed for the substitution of steel and it can be verified the performance by computer simulations. The parts of car cross beam are designed to replace steel parts according to their manufacturing processes. At the first stage, the weight of the aluminium car cross beam can be reduced to 75% by comparing with that of steel car cross beam. But NVH performance of the aluminium car cross beam becomes slightly insufficient as compared with that of steel car cross beam. Taguchi method is adopted to optimize the design variables affecting NVH characteristics of car cross beam. New car cross beam is designed at the second stage by using these analysis results. Weight reduction can be obtained to 31.7% by design modification and material change of car cross beam in comparison with the original steel one. NVH characteristics of aluminium car cross beam become on an equal level with the steel car cross beam. By side impact analysis results, new car cross beam has higher performance as compared with the steel car cross beam.
