Effects of Fire Retardant Treatment on Mechanical Properties and Fire Retardancy of Particleboard and Complyboard (내화처리(耐火處理)가 파아티클보오드와 콤플라이보오드의 기계적성질(機械的性質) 및 내화도(耐火度)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This research was conducted to examine the feasibility of developing fire retardant particleboard and complyboard. Particleboard were manufactured using meranti particle(Shorea spp.)made with Pallmann chipper, and complyboard meranti particle and apitong veneer (Dipterocarpus spp.). Particles were passed through 4mm (6 mesh) and retained on 1mm (25 mesh). Urea formaldehyde resin was added 10 percent on ovendry weight of particle. Face veneer for complyboard was 0.9, 1.6 and 2.3mm in thickness and spread with 36 g/(30.48 cm)$^2$ glue on one side. Veneers were soaked with 10 percent solution of five fire retardant chemicals (diammonium phosphate, ammonium sulfate, monoammonium phosphate, Pyresote and Minalith), and particles with 5, 10, 15 and 20 percent solution of five chemicals. Particleboard and complyboard were evaluated on physical and mechanical properties, and fire retardancy. The results obtained were summarized as follows. 1. Among five fire retardant chemicals treated to particleboard and complyboard, the retention of ammonium sulfate in 5 percent solution showed the lowest as 1.39 kg/(30.48 cm)$^3$ exceeding the minimum retention of 1.125 kg/(30.48 cm)$^3$ recommended by Forest Products Laboratory and Koch. 2. Particleboard and complyboard treated with diammonium phosphate showed higher modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE), internal bond strength and screw holding power than those with the other chemicals. 3. MOR and MOE of complyboard treated with fire retardant chemicals were greater than those of fire retardant particleboard. 4. Thickness swelling of fire retardant complyboard was lower than that of fire retardant particleboard. 5. The moisture content of the boards treated with Pyresote and Minalith increased and with monoammonium phosphate reduced. 6. Fire retardant particleboard showed no ignition, and fire retardant complyboard started ignition, but time required to ignite was prolonged comparing the controlboard. Complyboard with only shell veneer treated showed ignition and lingering flame, but lingering flame time was shorter than controlboard. Complyboard with treated both core and veneer showed ignition but not lingering flame. 7. Flame length, carbonized area and weight loss were smaller than controlboard but had no significant difference among chemicals treated. 8. Temperature of unexposed surface of fire retardant particleboard was lowered with the increasing concentration of five chemicals. 9. Temperature of unexposed surface of fire retardant particleboard was lowered with the highest in Pyresote and the lowest in Minalith. 10. Temperature of unexposed surface of fire retardant complyboard was lower than that of controlboard.

  • Aluminum alloys are gaining increased acceptance in the automotive and electronic industeries and cold & hot forging is the most efficient method of manufacturing such mass produced parts. This study has been investigated the microstructures and mechanical properties of A6061(Al-1.2Mg-0.8Si) alloy fabricated by cold & hot forging process for development of the future compressor block. The microstructure of cold & hot forginged specimen were composed of eutectic structure aluminum solid solution and $Mg_2Si$ precipitates. The tensile strength of as-solid solution treatment A6061 alloy revealed 291.7MPa. It was fabricated that a trial future compressor cylinder block using cold & hot forging.

Optimization of Satellite Honeycomb Platforms (하니콤 위성 플래폼의 최적 설계)

  • An optimization of satellite honeycomb platforms under sever space environment is performed. There are many optimization constraints for space environment to be considered. A modified method of feasible direction and a genetic algorithm are used to optimize the satellite platform structures. The design constraints are concerned with bearing stresses at joints and natural frequencies. The results from the optimization methods are compared. The numerical results show that natural frequency constraints are dominant to reach the optimum design. This study verifies the design of satellite honeycomb platforms and suggests an optimal platform design.

  • The multi-channel analog signal to digital signal conversion is increasing in the field of IoT and medical measurement equipments. It has chip area and power consumption constraints to use a few single or 2_channel ADC for multi_channel application. This paper described to design and implement a proposed comb filter for multi-channel, 24bit ADC. The function of proposed comb filter is verified by matlab simulation and the FPGA test board. It was fabricated using SK Hynix 0.35㎛ CMOS standard process. The performance and chip size is compared with the existing design method that uses integrator/differentiator and FIR construction. The proposed comb filter is expected to use the IoT product and medical measurement equipments that require multi-channel, low power consumption and small hardware size.

  • 에폭시-층상실리케이트 나노콤포지트의 균질분산과 층상실리케이트내로 침투되는 박리정도를 향상시키기 위해 친환경적 분산기법인 물리적방법으로 Homogenizer와 Power Ultrasonic를 적용한 기법을 실시하였다. Homogenizer의 최적속도를 얻기 위해 분산시킨 나노콤포지트의 박리정도, 유리천이온도를 구할 수 있었고, Homogenizer와 Ultrasonic을 동시에 적용하여 최적시간을 구하기 위해 적용된 나노콤포지트를 절연파괴 강도의 Weibull Plots을 통하여 판단할 수 있는 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 분산능력은 나노콤포지트의 제반적인 물성에 큰 영향을 준다. 그러나 유기용매를 사용한 분산능력은 전기적 절연특성에 불순물케리어로 작용되는 경우가 있어 오히려 절연성능 즉, 결합이 약하게 작용되는 결과를 가져오게 된다 이런 이유로 물리적인 분산법인 강력초음파법을 이용하여 Epoxy/Organoclay_93A 나노콤포지트를 제조하였다. 최적의 초음파 적용시간을 연구하기위해 강력초음파를 15,30,60,120분 각각에 대해 적용하였다. 적용시간은 기계적,전기적인 물성에 독립적인 특성을 나타내었다. 그러나 전반적인 물성의 비교에서 최적의 초음파 적용시 60분의 경우가 가장 양호한 결과를 얻었다. 기계적, 전기적인 물성에서 1차경화만으로 측정자료로 최적의 2차 경화를 가져가하면 더욱 높은 물성을 가져오게 될 것이다.

  • In this paper, output compliance effects at RCC point by both redundant joint compliances and antagonistic torques generated by internal preloading between joints of a spherical 3 degree-of-freedom mechanism are investigated. For this purpose, kinematic analysis is briefly described. Then, output compliance models at RCC point, which is generated by redundant joint compliances and by internal preloading between joints are derived. Finally, ranges of output compliance modulation due to these redundant joint compliances and antagonistic torques are examined through simulation.

  • 에어컨 콤프레셔 실린더에 도금되는 3가 크롬의 도금 두께 균일화를 위하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 작업을 수행하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션의 정확도를 위하여 현장에서 사용되는 경질 3가 크롬의 전기화학적 특성을 측정하였다. 그리고, 이를 입력 값으로 하여 헐셀에 대하여 실험과 컴퓨터시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 이 시뮬레이션 결과를 실제의 헐셀 실험 결과와 비교 검토함으로써 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션의 타당성정도를 점검하였고, 3가 크롬의 특성을 비교분석하였다. 이러한 자료를 근거로 3가 크롬 도금두께 균일화를 위한 시뮬레이션 작업을 에어컨 콤프레셔 실린더에 적용시켜 최적의 도금조건을 도출하였다.
