Influence of Hemodialysis Patient's Stress and Acceptance on Their Psychosocial Adaptation and Quality of Life (혈액투석 환자의 스트레스와 수용이 사회심리적 적응과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the factors that influence the psychosocial adaptation and quality of life of hemodialysis patients. The study participants consisted of 246 hemodialysis patients from 8 hemodialysis centers located in 3 cities ('K', 'P', and 'U') in South Korea. The questionnaire used for data collection was administered between April 1 and 30 of 2014. SPSS/WIN 18 program was used to perform descriptive, correlation, and stepwise regression analyses. It was found that stress response and acceptance were significantly correlated with psychosocial adaptation and quality of life. In the stepwise regression analysis, stress response appeared to be the most important influencing factor for psychosocial adaptation (${\beta}$=-.443, p<.001) and quality of life (${\beta}$=-.553, p<.001). Based on the study results, it is determined that in order to improve psychosocial adaptation and quality of life among hemodialysis patients, an intervention program to reduce stress response is needed, along with evaluating its efficacy.

Difference of Collaboration·Empathy Skill and Adaptation of School Life according to School Bullying Types (집단따돌림 유형에 따른 협동 및 공감기술과 학교생활적응의 차이)

  • This research was conducted to analyze the relationship among school bullying types, collaboration empathy skills, and adaptation of school life. A survey was conducted for the research, and asked 213 adolescents in middle and high schools in capital area(middle school: 106, high school: 107). Data Analysis was used a two-step cluster analysis to classify the type of bullying, explanation of a prediction variable according to the groups were analyzed by a multiple logistic regression analysis. The results of analysis of the research are as in the following. First, experience of afflicting or suffering from school bullying had negative correlation with collaboration empathy skills, and also with school life adaptation. Secondly, assailant group and victim group of school bullying was related to the lack of collaboration skill, and also related with empathy skill. Thirdly, collaboration empathy skills was influential factor on the adaptation of school life. Based on the results, collaboration empathy skills reduce the experience of bullying, and have a positive impact on the adaptation of school life. It confirmed the need for a social skills training program and discussed the implications.

The Influence of Gender Role Conflicts, Academic Stress Coping Ability, and Social Support on Adaptations to College Life among Male Nursing Students (남자 간호대학생의 성역할 갈등, 학업스트레스 대처, 사회적 지지가 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined effects of gender role conflicts, academic stress coping ability, and social support on adaptations to college life among male nursing students. Data were collected through self reported structured questionnaire form 225 male nursing students using convenient sampling methods from April 1 to June 4, 2014. Stepwise regression showed that academic stress coping ability had the greatest effect on adaptations to college life(${\beta}=0.33$, p<.001), followed by major satisfaction, social support, gender role conflicts and club activity. These variables together explained 33% of the adaptations to college life in male nursing students(F=23.50, p<.001). Therefore, programs for resolving gender role conflicts and reinforcing academic stress coping ability should be developed. And social support network which consist of professors and the senior-junior nursing students will help to improve adaptability to college life in male nursing students.

Ego-resilience and Emotional Intelligence, Stress Coping Strategies & Nursing Student's Adjustment to College (간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 감성지능, 스트레스 대처방식과 대학 생활 적응)

  • This study was done to identify the influence of ego-resilience, emotional intelligence and stress coping strategies on college adjustment in nursing students. The subjects consisted of 158 freshmen & sophomores attending three nursing colleges. The data were collected from October 27 to November 7, 2014, using self-report questionnaires. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. A positive correlation was found for college adjustment with ego-resilience, emotional intelligence, stress coping strategies. In addition emotional intelligence, ego-resilience, school record, satisfaction with nursing major, personal relations, gender accounted for 53.9% of variance in college adjustment. The strongest predictor of college adjustment was emotional intelligence. The findings suggest that development of emotional intelligence and ego-resilience in nursing students is important to college adjustment. It is necessary to develop systematic management of the program to integrate the educational curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

Factors Influencing Depression in Chinese Students Studying in Korea: Focused on Acculturative Stress, Academic Stress and Career Stress (중국인 유학생의 우울 영향요인: 문화적응 스트레스, 학업스트레스 및 진로스트레스 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted in order to identify factors influencing depression in Chinese students in Korea, focusing on factors related to acculturation stress, academic stress and career stress. The participants of this study were 166 Chinese students studying in Korea. Data were collected from Sep. 7th to Oct 15th. The subjects' mean score of depression was 17.36(6.77), and their scores of acculturation stress, academic stress, and career stress were 69.51(19.06), 34.64(5.03), and 29.13(9.14), respectively. Acculturative stress and career stress were found to be factors influencing the depression level of Chinese students in Korea and the two factors' explanatory power was 51.9%. Based on the findings of this study, in order to lower Chinese students' depression level and help them lead a healthy academic life in Korea, it is necessary to assess their acculturative stress and career stress and to provide special intervention for students with high perceived stress.

Analysis of Adaptation Research Trends of Multicultural Families Adolescents (다문화가정 청소년의 적응 연구 동향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends of adaptation research of adolescents in multicultural families and to seek future research tasks and directions. For this purpose, a total of 94 journal papers were selected and the research status, research method, research subject, and research contents were examined. The analysis results are as follows. Firstly, journal articles has been steadily appearing since the 1st edition in 2007, and has soared since 2018. As a result of examining the number of papers by journal, a total of 50 papers were found in various fields. By journal field, 37(74%) were the most in the social science field. Second, among the analysis results of the research method, 68 research surveys were found, and quantitative research analysis methods accounted for 74%. Third, as a result of analyzing the research subjects, 75 cases were studied directly for multicultural adolescents only, and 19 others studied parents, teachers (workers) or adolescents and other subjects together. Fourth, in the contents of the study, school adaptation characteristics were the most frequently(52), followed by sociocultural adaptation characteristics(37). Based on the analysis results, future research directions and tasks were discussed.

The Difference between Importance of Experts and Preference of Ex-prisoners on Rehabilitation Program in Korea : Application of IPA Method (법무보호사업에 대한 교정전문가의 중요도와 출소자의 선호도 비교연구: IPA기법 적용)

  • The aim of this study is to estimate the recognition of ex-prisoners and experts on rehabilitation programs and family support programs by Korea Rehabilitation Agency, which plays a responsible role in promoting social reintegration. Estimation and comparison method was used to assess between the efficiency and the importance of the rehabilitation business which was respectively recognized by ex-prisoners and experts. The subjects of this study who have received the support from the agency were composed, and the effectiveness was identified. In addition, to measure the importance of the rehabilitation business, a group of experts were made up of professors, the agency employees, and correctional officers with expertise and experience of this field of reintegration and recidivism. Collected data were shown in quadrants by setting preference and importance on each axis through IPA. As a result, there was a significant difference between the preference and importance, and based on this result, the discussion was suggested in relation to the rehabilitation business and family support business.

Relationship between Married Immigrant Women's Self-Esteem and Resilience -Focused on the Moderating Effect of Psychology Happiness- (국제결혼 이주여성의 자아존중감과 적응유연성 간 관계 -심리적 행복감의 조절효과를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the self-Esteem and resilience in married immigrant women, to explore the moderate effect of psychology happiness on those relationship and to suggest practical implications for social work services for those married immigrant women. Data for this study were collected through the use of a survey instrument completed by 139 samples from 148 samples. Collected data were analysed by moderated multiple regression. The findings of this study were as follows: First, this study provided clear evidence that the self-Esteem was very important variable which affected on resilience in married immigrant women. Second, the life satisfaction had moderate effect on relationship between self-Esteem and resilience. Based on these findings, Practice and policy implications as well as further research topics were discussed to aid the search for highly effective interventions.

Mediating Effects of Psychological Weakness between the Soldiers Internet Addiction and Their Military Adjustment (군 병사들의 입대 전 인터넷 중독과 군 생활 적응의 관계에서 심리적 취약성의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of the study is to examine the mediating effects of psychological weakness between the soldiers internet addiction and their adjustments in the military. 486 soldiers in Kangwon-province and Kyonggi-province participated in the survey thru convenient sampling. For the study, the correlation analysis and the multiple regression were conducted. The results are as follows: First, correlations among the soldiers internet addiction, psychological weakness, solitude, lack of control, lack of efficacy, and military adjustments were found significant. Secondly, psychological weakness was verified as mediating effects in the relationship between the soldiers internet addiction and military adjustments. The study indicates mental health services for soldiers with internet addiction.
