Construction Performance of High Strength Concrete Utilizing Wasted Limestone Coarse Aggregates (석회암 폐석 굵은골재를 사용한 고강도 콘크리트의 시공)

  • The aim of this research is suggesting application method of the wasted rock obtained from the limestone quarry of raw material for cement as a coarse aggregate for high strength concrete after crushing and sieving processes. The wasted rock has been normally wasted because of its low quality as a material for cement production. In this research, the concrete using this wasted limestone coarse aggregate was evaluated the constructability based on the performances of workability, air content, and compressive strength. From the experiment, a favorable performance was achieved with a limestone coarse aggregate for high strength concrete comparing to the high strength concrete using granite coarse aggregate.

The Comparative Experimental Study of short and long-term Behavior of the Blended High-Fluidity Cement Concrete and Existing Nuclear Power Plant Structural Concrete (기존 원전용 콘크리트와 다성분계 고유동 콘크리트의 장·단기거동 비교 실험 연구)

  • In this study, it was founded to make the optimal mixture for producing concrete which is self-compacting, yet, and generates low heat of hydration by using flyash, blast furnace slags and limestone powders as binders in addition to cement while using super-plasticizers and viscosity agents as admixture agents. The structural behaviors of the concrete produced with the selected mixture were compared with those of the concrete currently using for construction of nuclear power plants. The study shows that the blended high fluidity concrete including limestone is better in workability and durability than the concrete currently in use for nuclear power plants.

  • This study is a neutron activation for concrete that shields medical linear accelerator facilities. Comparison of general concrete and low activation concrete. The simulation method was simulated using MCNPX (Ver. 2.5.0) and FISPACT-2010, and the shielding ability for photon and neutron beams was calculated and neutron activation evaluation was carried out. As a result, the shielding capacity was 20 ~ 50 cm efficient in general concrete, and activate evaluation in low activation concrete was calculated to be low in radioactivity concrete, but all were estimated to not exceed their own allowable concentration in self - disposal. As a result of the comprehensive analysis, it is considered effective to use ordinary concrete.

Flowability and Strength Properties of Mortar and Self-Compacting Concrete Mixed with Waste Concrete Powder (폐콘크리트 분말을 혼합한 모르타르 및 자기충전 콘크리트의 유동 및 강도특성)

  • In this study, in order to utilize waste concrete powder(WCP) which is occurred in manufacturing high quality recycled aggregate as an admixture for self-compacting concrete(SCC), the properties of cement paste, mortar, and concrete that were mixed two types of WCP, 928 and 1,360 $cm^2/g$ of surface area, were analyzed. As a result of experiment, we have found that WCP was a porous material with angle. When WCP was utilized as an admixture for SCC, its flowability and viscosity increased in proportion to the increase of a replacement ratio, and that a replacement ratio of WCP was proper within 15%. The compressive strength at 28 days mixed respectively with WCP2, 15 and 30%, showed about 36 and 28 MPa, and it showed a similar trend with a function suggested in CEB-FIP for the relationship of compressive strength and elastic modulus. According to the results, it is judged that WCP2 can be utilized as an mineral admixture of normal strength SCC.

Numerical study on structural reinforced effects of concrete lining by spray-applied waterproofing membrane (차수용 박층 멤브레인 설치에 따른 콘크리트 라이닝의 구조적 보강효과에 관한 수치해석 연구)

  • A spray-applied waterproofing membrane which consists of polymers has a relatively higher constructability and adhesion than the conventional sheet-type waterproofing materials. Additionally, the spray-applied waterproofing membrane generally shows a waterproofing ability as a composite structure with shotcrete or concrete lining. Because its purpose is waterproofing at the structure, structural effects were not well reported than waterproofing abilities. In this study, structural effects of the membrane-attached concrete lining were evaluated using 3-point bending test by the numerical method. From the analysis, a load-displacement behavior of the concrete lining and fracturing energy after yielding were compared with various conditions. Consequently, concrete lining with spray-applied waterproofing membrane shows higher flexural strength and fracturing energy than the single-layer concrete lining.

  • 본 연구는 콘크리트 배합시 염분의 함량이 구조물의 부식에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 수행되었다. 콘크리트는 물 : 포틀랜트 cemente : 자갈 : 모래의 비율을 1 : 1.78 : 5.35 : 4.73의 비율로 하여 배합하였으며 염분의 함량은 0-3.5wt%의 범위에서 철근의 부식을 연구하였다. 부식특성을 연구하기 위하여 부식전위를 2년간 측정하였으며 이를 콘크리트 파괴 후의 철근의 외관 부식도와 비교하였다. 옥내와 옥외에 두었을 때 부식속도의 차이는 없었으며 염분의 함량이 증가함에 따라 활성이 큰 전위값이 측정되었다. 전위값이 낮은 시편은 부동태 피막이 파괴되어 부식이 진행하고 있었으며, 전위값이 높은 시편에서는 부식생성물이 관찰되지 않았다. 본 실험의 결과로 보강용 강재의 부식손상 정도를 자연전위 측정방법을 통하여 콘크리트내 보강용 철근의 부식거동 및 부식속도에 대한 비괴적인 전기화학적 기술로서 구조물의 손상여부를 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The ultra high strength concrete classed 80 MPa for Lotte Town at pusan has many hydrated materials due to low water to binder ratio and high admixture contents and improved void structure caused by C-S-H gel corresponding to pozzolan and latent hydraulicity of FA and BS. Moreover, durability of the concrete is superior because there was no penetration of carbon dioxide, chloride and chloric ion caused by its fine internal constitution.

  • It was investigated by experimental method whether fine powder and coarse particle obtained by briquet cinders crushing could be used in the place of cement and fine aggregate or coarse aggregate for concrete. Except these experiments, further study, containing the fundamental physical properties of briquet cinders and the mechanical properties of concrete using briquet cinders, is needed for practical use, but these experimental results suggest the possibility for using briquet cinders as materials for mortar or concrete.

  • 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지를 결합재로 사용하여 제작되는 폴리머 콘크리트 맨홀은 조기 고강도 발현, 접착성. 수밀성, 내동결융해성, 내약품성, 내마모성, 전기절연성이 우수하여 프리캐스트로 제작되는 많은 통신용 맨홀에 적용되고 있다. 폴리머 콘크리트의 결합재로 사용되는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지는 열경화성수지로써, 자체 발열에 의해 거푸집을 탈형할 정도의 초기 경화 반응이 나타나지만, 구조물로서 요구되는 소요 강도를 발휘하기 위해서는 적정 온도에 의한 추가 양생이 반드시 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 폴리머 콘크리트의 휨 강도 시험용 공시체를 사용하여, 다양한 양생 온도 조건 및 양생기간에 따른 휨 강도를 측정하였으며, 이를 가열 촉진 양생에 의한 휨 강도와 비교하여 콘크리트가 소요 강도를 발휘하는데 요구되는 적정 온도와 기간을 도출하였다. 이를 통해 폴리머 큰크리트 맨홀의 품질 확보를 위한 생산 관리와 제품 검사를 체계적이고 효율적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하였다.

Experimental Method for Evaluating Debonding Strength of FRPs Used for Retrofitting Concrete Structures (콘크리트 휨부재 보강용 FRP의 부착성능 평가를 위한 실험방법 연구)

  • This study proposes a experimental method to evaluate bonding strength of FRPs used for retrofitting concrete structures. Specimens are designed so that debonding failure of FRPs can be induced from reinforced concrete beams retrofitted with two layers of carbon and glass FRPs. And three-point loading tests are performed to see if debonding failure with proper debonding strength is observed from the specimens. The test results show that the tested beams are failed due to debonding of FRPs, therefore, the proposed test method is capable of evaluating debonding strength of FRPs using relatively small normal strength concrete beams.
