It has been known that the natural colorants exhibit good dye-uptake toward cotton, silk, and wool fibers, while they do poorly toward synthetic fibers. This study utilizes the chitosan treatment in order to improve the dye-uptake for the natural fibers and to enable the synthetic fibers, whose dye-uptake levels are low, show better affinity toward the natural colorants. Since chitosan has $-NH_2$ group and -OH group in the structure, the dyeability of the fabric will be improved when the fabric is treated with the chitosan. Cotton fabric as one of the natural fiber fabrics and nylon fabric as one of the synthetic fiber fabrics were selected for this study. 1. In case of cotton fabric, the chiosan treatment takes effect for the Caesalpinia sappan and cochineal, resulting in remarkable ${\Delta}E$ increase after dyeing. Chitosan helps in developing dark shade by increasing the uptake of the Caesalpinia sappan and cochineal. It does not, however, participate in the developing of the specific color as does a metallic mordant. 2. In case of dyeing cotton fabric with Gardenia jasminoides, the effect of the treatment with mordant and chitosan is not very pronounced. It is thought that the Gardenia jasminoides uptake is accomplished in a direct manner in the cellulose chains without the aid of mordant. 3. Air-permeability is decreased when the non-mordanted and non-chitosan treated cotton fabric is dyed with Caesalpinia sappan, cochineal, and Gardenia jasminoides. 4. In case of nylon fabric, premordanting and chitosan treatments are not highly effective in promoting the dye-uptake.
In this study, we applied six different norbornene dialkyl esters as a plasticizer to an isoprene rubber (IR) and evaluated replaceability of DEHP which is an endocrine disruptor. IR test sheets were prepared by blending IR, norbornene dialkyl ester, vulcanizing agent, etc. and processing properties of the IR were evaluated by measuring Toque, scorch time, cure time and mooney viscosity. Mechanical properties of IR test sheet including hardness, tensile strength, 100% modulus and elongation were also measured and the physical properties of norbornene dialkyl ester applied as a plasticizer were compared to those using DEHN. Both the maximum and minimum toque for the norbornene dialkyl ester as a plasticizer were similar to those of using DEHP. In addition, the scorch and cure time of the former were slightly longer than those of the latter. The mooney viscosity for the case of DEHN was slightly lower than that of the latter. DEHN was also superior to DEHP in terms of processing. The hardness and thermal properties of all IR test sheets were measured to be similar to each other. The linear alkyl chain of norbornene compounds also exhibited good tensile characteristics.
In this study, we reviewed the color changes accompanying the laundering, wash fastness, and abrasion fastness of chitosan-treated cochineal-dyed fabrics. The treatment methods were classified into two based on the chitosan treatment: (Method 1): fabric specimens were pre-treated with chitosan prior to the dyeing procedure in salt form. (Method 2): the state of chitosan acid salt formation, coated on the yarn surface, was destroyed and neutralized prior to the dyeing process. The changes in the chitosan treatment methods bear more important meaning in view of the durability. In Method 1, it is highly likely for the chitosan to be detached from the surface by water during laundering since the chitosan is coated as acid salt state. In Method 2, the resistance d the chitosan to water was supposed to revive since the chitosan would return to its original state. Differences in the resistance of the chitosan treatrrent, however, according to the Method 1 and Method 2, fell short of our expectations. In Method 2, the wash fastness did not improve as we expected since the bond between the fibers comprising fabric specimens and the chitosan is not high even if the chitosan itself has high resistance to water.

Present silica dispersing agents are based mainly on fatty acid derivatives of Zn, K and mixture of fatty acid and metallic soaps are used to increase activity. The viscosity of silica filled rubber is lowered by Zn-K soap type silica dispersing agent, thus fluidity of hydrocarbon chains and processibility is improved. Silica dispersing agent should not exert an influence on chracteristics of vulcanization. But scorch and curing time is shortened by Zn-K soap type silica dispersing agent. A newly developed silica dispersing agent, which is a nonmetal type agent, reduced the viscosity and hardness of silica compounding rubber, and the highly increased degree of dispersion of silica is caused by interaction of silica and rubber. Also it did not affect the curing characteristics and scorch stability of silica compounding rubber.

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the attitudes and dispositions of doping in elite golf players. 136 elite golfers (75 male, 61 female) were participated in this study and responded to Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale, Perfectionism in Sport Scale and Perceived Motivational Climate in Sport Questionnaire-2. Data that were collected analyzed by hierarchical multi regression. In male golfers, unequal recognition (UR) of coach had a positive effect on the attitudes and dispositions of doping, and rivalry (R) had a negative effect on that. In female golfers, Coach's criticism (CC) had a positive effect on the attitudes and dispositions of doping. The effective anti-doping program which reflects the results of this study should be developed and implemented for elite golf players who need the anti-doping education.

In this study, cotton fabric specimens were pre-mordanted using Sn, Al, Cu, Cr, and Fe, and subsequently dyed using cochineal, maintaining the pH of the dye bath constant using pH buffer solutions of 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. In the cases of Al, Cr, and Sn mordanting, the dye-uptake was well accomplished in the acidic range of pH 4 and 5. However, the dye-uptake was not accomplished in the range over pH 6. In the cases of Cu and Fe mordanting, however, the pH value did not affect the dye-uptake and the dyeability in the alkaline range was not decreased remarkably. In the case of non-mordant, the dye-uptake was not accomplished at all, and the Cu and Fe mordanting gave rise to the best dyeability. In the cases of non-mordanting and Al, Cu mordanting, there was no change in the $\lambda_{max}$, and in the cases of Sn and Cr mordanting, the $\lambda_{max}$ moved toward the shorter wavelength. In the case of Fe mordanting only, the $\lambda_{max}$ moved gradually toward the longer wavelength, and due to the pH effect deep-dyeing effect was revealed.
Silica-filled rubber compound needs longer mixing time compared to carbon black-filled one since it has poor dispersion or the filler. Influence of the mixing procedure on the properties of natural rubber compound filled with both silica and carbon black was studied. The discharge temperature of the master batch (MB) mixing was $150^{\circ}C$. The mixing time was longer when silica and carbon black were loaded separately than when loaded simultaneously. The mixing time was longer when silica was loaded first than when carbon black is loaded first. The compounds prepared by one MB step (conventional mixing) were compared with the compounds prepared by two MB steps (two-step mixing). Scorch times of the two-step mixing compounds were longer than those by the conventional mixing ones. Bound rubber contents of the formers were lower than those of the tatters. The two-step mixing vulcanizates had longer elongation at break, higher tensile strength, and better fatigue life.
It has been known that the chitosan pre-treated fabrics can be dyed without the aid of mordanting process. It is due to the fact that chitosan treatment increases the dye uptake. However, the effect of chitosan on the dyeing mechanism has not been elucidated thus far. Following explanations have been presented regrading the action of the chitosan on the dyeing mechanisms: 1. Chitosan absorbs dyestuffs and facilitates dyeing since the chitosan itself has a good affinity toward dyestuffs. 2. Chitosan acts as a metallic mordant between the fiber molecule and dyestuff. 3. Fiber molecules and chitosan form a coordinate covalent bond. This study aims the quantitative investigation on the effect of the chitosan and the effect of sequence of the mordanting, pre-mordanting or post-mordanting, on the dyeing of the fabrics. Cotton fabrics and acylic fabrics were pre-treated with chitosan before dyeing with cochineal dyestuffs. Method 1: Fabrics were, firstly, mordanted with Al, Sn, Cu, and Fe; mordanted fabrics were, secondly, treated with chitosan; mordanted and chitosan-treated fabrics were, thirdly, dyed. Method 2: Fabrics were, firstly, treated with chitosan; chitosan-treated fabrics were, secondly, mordanted with Al, Sn, Cu, and Fe; these were dyed then. Method 2 gave distinguished specific color development with darker shade. Apart from this, chitosan-treated fabrics yielded darker shade compared to the pre-mordanted fabrics without chitosan-treatment.

Performance indicators have often investigated and developed in order to identify foundational elements and factors for an enhancement of performance in sports. In order to identify the valid performance indicators it is important that the indicators used within a performance analysis system discriminate between the winning and losing performances within a match (Hughes and Bartlett, 2002). However, the performance indicators proposed in research studies on basketball performance have not been used for real-time analysis and feedback within a coaching context. Such real-time support for the coach and players has been described within research on other sports (Choi et al., 2004; O'Donoghue, 2001; Palmer et al., 1997). Within the process of real-time feedback, the identification of relevant performance indicators that distinguish winning and losing performances should be the first stage of the development of a real-time analysis system. Therefore, this study investigated the differences between winning and losing teams in terms of a set of performance indicators gathered during the analysis of 10 English National Basketball League matches. Winning and losing teams were compared using whole match data (N=10) as well as individual quarters (N=40). A series of Wilcoxon Signed Ranks tests was used to identify the relevant performance indicators that discriminate between winning and losing performers within whole matches and individual quarters. The tests found that 3 point shots made (p<0.05) and Assists (p<0.05) were significantly different between winning and losing teams within matches. However, 2 point shots made (p<0.05), 2 point shots attempted (P<0.05), percentages of 2 point shots scored (p<0.05), 3 point shots made (p<0.05), Defensive Rebounds (p<0.05) and Assists (p<0.05) were significantly different between winning and losing performance within quarters. The analysis task should be based on relevant performance indicators which explain the current performances to performance analysts and coaches. Within a real-time analysis and feedback scenario, this will have the additional benefit of supporting a decision based on immediate performance within the most recent quarter. Consequently, the real-time analysis system would use performance indicators which have the property of construct validity to support the decisions of the coach.
