Analyis of the Structure and Impact of SCM Advanced Planning System : Lessons from POSCO Case (SCM 첨단계획수립시스템의 구조와 도입효과 분석 : 포스코 사례를 중심으로)

  • POSCO has been chosen as the most competitive steelmaker in the world, for the 4th year in a row. It's potentials and key success points lay at technology innovation as well as effective partnerships with suppliers and customers. Partnership with suppliers is based upon the effective supply chain management. While ERP system supports the standard business work flows, the biggest impact on business performance is created by exceptions and variability. A SCM Advanced Planning System reduces the amount of exceptional situations, helping to keep business in a standard mode of operation. A case summary on SCM Advanced Planning System of POSCO as well as its impact on firm performances is presented. As a supplement to this case study, we also investigate the employees' perceived level of SCM-related factors, including information sharing, collaboration, incentive system for suppliers and their impacts on SCM performances. As a conclusion, the practical implications of these findings are discussed.

Electronic Nose Analysis of Ethanol in Gochujang for Halal Food Certification (전자코를 사용하여 할랄식품 적용을 위한 고추장 중 에탄올 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the electronic nose can be applied as a primary screening procedure to detect ethanol in gochujang for halal certification. First, ethanol content in 25 traditional gochujang was measured by gas chromatography with flame ion detector, widely accepted as the conventional method of alcohol detection. The content ranged from 0.14 to 2.7%. Then, 8 gochujangs selected from among the initial 25 samples were analyzed by electronic nose. Similar ethanol content patterns were observed between the two detection methods. In addition, commercial gochujang products were examined by electronic nose to ensure that they complied with the required ethanol standard of the halal certification authority. Consequently, it was confirmed that electronic nose analysis can be applied as a primary screening method for halal certification.

Flavor Analysis of Commercial Korean Distilled Spirits using an Electronic Nose and Electronic Tongue (전자코와 전자혀를 이용한 시판 증류주의 향미특성 분석)

  • The objective of this study was to analyze the flavor patterns of commercial Korean distilled spirits using a mass spectrometry-based electronic nose and an electronic tongue. Thirteen types of domestic distilled spirits were used for analysis. The flavor patterns of the distilled spirits were clearly identified through discriminant function analysis of the raw materials. The obtained data of the electronic nose analysis showed that the flavor pattern of the distilled spirits aged in oak barrels was not significantly different from that of the general distilled spirits. According to the results of the electronic tongue, the distilled spirits made with rice had a stronger flavor than those made with foxtail millet. Compared to the sensitivity value of each taste sensor, the distilled spirits showed various intensities of sourness and umami. Therefore, an electronic nose and electronic tongue could be successfully used for quality evaluation and new product development of distilled spirits.

  • 증발기의 형태에 따라 수치적 해석을 진행하면서 최적의 효율을 나타낼 수 있는 증발기를 설계하는 것이 중요하다. 증발기의 수치적 해석은 EES 프로그램을 이용하여 진행되었으며, 계산의 검증은 자사의 제품의 성능과 비교하면서 검증하였다. 증발기의 수치적 해석의 구성은 지배방정식과 연속방정식을 이용하여, 냉매의 총괄열전달계수, 관내외벽의 열전도율, 공기의 총괄열전달계수를 이용하여 총괄열전달계수를 계산하였으며, 총괄열전달계수를 이용하여 증발기의 열량을 계산하였다. 증발기의 수치적 해석과 자사 제품 5개의 제품과 비교하였고, 평균적으로 약 10%의 오차율을 보였다. 신뢰성이 확보된 계산식을 이용하여 Fin의 간격, 단위 질량유량, 열 교환 코일 길이, 풍량의 조건을 각각 변동시켜 증발기 열량 비교를 하며 경향성을 고찰하였다. Fin의 간격을 1mm에서 20mm으로 0.5mm 간격으로 변화 시켰을 경우, 핀 간격이 좁으면 공기 유속이 빨라져 열 교환 효율이 낮아지며, 반대로 넓어지면 냉매 유량에 비해 공기 유량이 많기 때문에 열 교환 효율이 낮아진다. 열 교환 코일 길이를 500mm에서 2400mm으로 50mm 간격으로 변화 시켰을 경우, 열 교환 코일 길이가 길어질수록 배관의 마찰력과 냉매의 온도 상승으로 인하여 공기 온도와의 온도 차이가 줄어들어 열 교환 효율은 낮아진다. 풍량을 20cmm에서 400cmm으로 10cmm 간격으로 변화 시켰을 경우, 일정 풍량 이상 올라가면 공기 유속이 빨라져서 열량이 낮아지는 경향을 보인다. 질량유량을 3g/sec에서 174g/sec으로 4.5g/sec 간격으로 변화 시켰을 경우, 질량 유량에 따라 비례적으로 열량이 높아지는 경향을 보이다가 일정 질량 유량 이상에서는 공기 풍량에 비해 냉매 유량이 많기 때문에 반비례적으로 열량이 낮아진다. 이처럼 증발기의 설계는 Fin 간격, 열 교환 코일 길이, 풍량, 질량유량 등을 복합적으로 고려하여 증발기 설계를 해야 하며, 저장고의 크기, 부하, 사용목적에 따라 최적화된 증발기를 설계하여야 한다.

  • This study investigates the effectiveness of computer programming with KODU on problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. Diverse tools were developed for novice programmers to become more easy and comfort in learning a computer programming. Among them, KODU has focused on facilitating the programming of various multimedia applications to create games, animations and music videos etc. It is expected that KODU will help elementary school students to improve their problem-solving abilities through creating their own games, animation, and music etc. In this paper, we developed the educational program using KODU for teaching the elementary school students. The developed programming course was offered at the 5th grade students of a elementary school in Seoul and a total of 27 elementary school students were participated in our programming courses. Most of the students stated that the course was interesting, and their problem-solving ablilities were improved after the course from March 2014 through May 2014.

Analysis of coenzyme Q 1O in dietary supplement by HPLC (HPLC를 이용한 건강기능식품 중 코엔자임 Q10 성분 분석)

  • A method based on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet detection has been developed to quantify coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in raw materials and dietary supplements. Single-laboratory validation has been performed on the method to determine linearity, selectivity, accuracy, limits of quantification (LOQ) and repeatability for CoQ10. An excellent linearity (r=0.999) was observed for CoQ10 in the concentration range $15.625{\sim}500\;{\mu}g/ml$ in dietary supplement. Observed recovery of CoQ10 was found to be between 98.33 and 99.38%. LOQ was found to be $250\;{\mu}g/ml$ Repeatability precision for CoQ10 was between 0.15 and 0.21% relative standard deviation (RSD). Further, limited studies showed that some adulterants and degraded material could be satisfactorily separated from CoQ10 and identified.
