In this paper, we analyze the spectral efficiency of multicarrier-code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) scheme. First, we derive a generalized formula for the spectral efficiency according to the number of subcarriers involved in, code division multiplexing and the number of codes used (i.e., loading factor), under a given set of channel coefficients. Also, we derive a generalized formula for spectral efficiency of various reduced-complexity systems that divide the full sets of subcarriers into several groups of subcarriers for code division multiplexing. Then, through these derivations, we establish an inter-relationship between the frequency selectivity and diversity order according to the number of multipaths. From the results, we choose the smallest code length while maximizing the diversity effect, provide an optimum subcarrier allocation strategy, and finally suggest a system structure for capacity-maximizing under the smallest code length. Through numerical analyses under simulated environments, we analyze the properties of spectral efficiency of various systems with reduced complexity and choose a major contributing factors to system design and a better system design methodology. Finally, we compare the spectral efficiency of the MC-CDMA scheme and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme to make a relationship between both schemes.

In this paper, error performance of DS/FH CDMA system has been analyzed in a radio channel which is characterized by near-far problem and multi-path fading. The DS/FH CDMA system adopts Maximum Ratio Combining(MRC) diversity and BCH(Bose-Chau dhuri-Hocquenghem) coding techniques to enhance system performance. Using the derived error probability equation, the error performance of DS/FH CDMA system has been evaluated and shown in figures to discuss as a function of PN code length(N), hopping rate(q), number of diversity branch(M), coding rate($\gamma$) and bit energy per noise power ratio ${E_b/N_o}$. The results show that DS/FH system is more effective to restrain the affection of near-far problem and multi-path fading than DS system. And there is a substantial enhancement in performance by employing an MRC diversity or BCH coding techniques. Consequently, we expected that proposed system structure is reliable to the voice communication system in near-far problem and multi-path fading channel.

This study proposes a new diversity algorithm to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. In the wireless channel, if fading occurs due to the multipaths, the performance of the system is apparently reduced. One of the methods to reduce fadings like this is the diversity method, and this study aims to improve the performance of the system by proposing a new diversity algorithm. This study applied rake receiver It applied QPSK and OQPSK modulation methods and applied the convolutional codes, where the code rate is 1/3 and the constraint length is 9, and the turbo code where the constraint length is 4. Under these conditions, this study compared and analyzed the average error probability of Multicarrier CDMA system.

Multicarrier-Direct Sequence/Code Division Multiple Access(MC-DS/ CDMA) which is a combination of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) and DS/CDMA has been of significant interest as a means to take such advantages as bandwidth efficiency, high bit rate and robustness against multipath fading. In this paper we study a reduced-complexity multiuser detection aided multirate MC-DS/CDMA with time(T)-domain and frequency(F)-domain spreading. The one- dimensional orthogonal variable spreading factor(1D OVSF) code extracted from 2D OVSF code are used as a spreading code in T/F-domain. The proposed system will use code grouping interference cancellation(CGIC) receiver to reduce Multiuser Interference(MUI). The CGIC receiver uses code grouping by the correlation properties of 1D OVSF code and dose not requires the code information and activity of other user. The multiuser detector with CGIC receiver will be analyzed in Time- and Frequency-domain separately(jointly). The system performance is analytically derived in Additive White Gaussian Noise(AWGN) channel and we also compare the system performance between proposed system and T/F spreaded single(multi) rate multiuser MC-DS/CDMA system. In the computer simulation results, the proposed receiver of demonstrated huge performance improvement over conventional matched filter receiver.

We propose a modified nonlinear fiber optic interferometer which can serve to generate binary optical pulse sequences for CDMA networks, and to decode them. In one arm cross-phase modulation between a CW signal and a counter- or copropagating high-power pulse takes place in sequences of segment connected via VDM couplers. Preliminary experimental results on code generation as well as autocorrelation and crosscorrelation are presented, using Sagnac interferometer. As we expected, the experimental results show that the outputs of the interferometer device are not summed simply on the basis of power, but the sin-squared version of it. Arbitrary codes can in principle be implemented.

It has been known that the optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is a prominent future technology to support many simultaneous users and to increase transmission capacity of optical fiber. In this paper, we proposed the new construction of 2 dimensional code, which can be used as a codeword in temporal/wavelength OCDMA networks. New code family is obtained by extending the concept of Hamming correlation. All optical encoder and decoder for newly proposed code were also developed. In considering bit error ratio, we verified that new coding scheme outperforms conventional coding scheme by simulation. This system is applicable to asynchronous fast local area network, which needs a high security level and a flexible network configuration.

This paper shows the performance of a multiuser detection DS-CDMA receiver based on of the hybrid scheme of parallel interference cancellation (PIC) and successive interference cancellation (SIC). The proposed hybrid interference cancellation is presented and is compared with existing PIC, SIC and Hybrid It of other type schemes. The performance criteria used for comparison are complexity, delay and average bit error rate (BER) performance obtained by simulation in Rayleigh-fading channel (Jake's model) with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). In the proposed hybrid IC, the BER performance approximates the one of SIC and the delay is half of the SIC. And the number of cancellation of the hybrid It is reduced about a fourth.

In general, a measuring instrument of sound noise use only one wired channel by one sensor. Therefor the measuring instrument use wired cables as the number of channels are provided by instrument. In a point of observed target it needs data from multiple sensors and In case of measured point is a large numbers the environment of constitution would be complicated because that is in need of channel and cable. So we need the method that can improve the existing transmission channel and cable environment even the measured point is increased. If we use the Code Division Multiple Access(CDMA) we transmit a large numbers of sensor data by using a common transmission channel. We present the method that transmits data of multiple sensor to wireless by using CDMA. This method can simplify the measurement environment dramatically when collecting data by using multiple sensor. We expect this study to contribute the part of multiple access technology and relation technologies on the measuring environment.

White LEDs(Light Emitting Diode) offer advantageous properties such as high brightness, improved reliability, lower power consumption, and long lifetimes. An LED is an electronic device that converts an electrical signal into a tight signal and is used not only in Optical Communication Indoor wireless optical illuminating rooms, but also for wireless optical communication systems. Currently, studies about these white LEDs have been being progressed, and in this raper, we discuss the multiplex and the multiple access method of VLC(Visible Light Communication) systems using white LEDs. In proposed system, CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) apples to VLC system to reduce interference of VLC system, and improve capacity. The superiority of OOK modulation is presented in analysis of results by comparing VLC-CDMA communication system using OOK(On-off keying) modulation and BPSK modulation in AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) channel and Diffuse channel. And we investigate the significance of a solution of interference by multipath by comparing BER in multipath channel and AWGN channel. In the proposed system, we assume Directed LOS(Line Of Sight) and Diffuse Link, and suppose VLC-CDMA using OOC(Optical Orthogonal Code) as methods to increase efficiency of system by removing ISI(Inter Symbol Interference) caused by multiple access, optical spreading code, and also present an analysis of its performance.
