  • 본 논문에서는 컬러 이미지의 색을 보존하면서 콘트라스트를 향상 시키는 히스토그램 평활화 기법을 제안 하였다. 과도한 영상의 밝기 변화를 조절하기 위해 히스토그램의 중간 값을 사용하였다. 히스토그램이 좌측 혹은 우측에 집중되어 분포하는 경우 최대 콘트라스트를 얻기 위해 엔드 인 콘트라스트 스트래칭을 추가 적용하였다. 제안된 알고리즘을 적용하면 색을 보존하면서 최대 콘트라스트를 얻을 수 있다.

Content Based Image Retrieval System using Histogram Intersection and Autocorrelogram (히스토그램 인터섹션과 오토코릴로그램을 이용한 내용기반 영상검색 시스템)

  • In this paper, when users choose a query image, we implemented a content-based image retrieval system that users can simply choose and extract a object region of query wanted with not only a whole image but various objects in it. Histogram is obtained by improved HSV transformations from query image and then candidate images are retrieved rapidly by a 1st similarity measure with histogram intersection using representative colors of query image. And finally retrieved images are extracted since 2nd similarity measure with banded autocorrelogram is performed so that recall and precision are improved by combining two retrieval methods that can make up for respective weak points. Moreover images in the database are indexed automatically within feature library that makes possible to retrieve images rapidly.

  • In this paper, we propose an object tracking algorithm based on color histogram and convolutional neural network model. In order to increase the tracking accuracy, we synthesize generic object tracking using regression network algorithm which is one of the convolutional neural network model-based tracking algorithms and a mean-shift tracking algorithm which is a color histogram-based algorithm. Both algorithms are classified through support vector machine and designed to select an algorithm with higher tracking accuracy. The mean-shift tracking algorithm tends to move the bounding box to a large range when the object tracking fails, thus we improve the accuracy by limiting the movement distance of the bounding box. Also, we improve the performance by initializing the tracking start positions of the two algorithms based on the average brightness and the histogram similarity. As a result, the overall accuracy of the proposed algorithm is 1.6% better than the existing generic object tracking using regression network algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose a content-based image retrieval using the color ratio and moment of object region. We acquire an optimal spatial information by the region splitting that utilizes horizontal-vertical projection and dominant color. It is based on hypothesis that an object locates in the center of image. We use color ratio and moment as feature informations. Those are extracted from the splitted regions and have the invariant property for various transformation, and besides, similarity measure utilizes a modified histogram intersection to acquire correlation information between bins in a color histogram. In experimental results, the proposed method shows more flexible and efficient performance than existing methods based on region splitting.

Luminance Correction for Stereo Images using Histogram Interval Calibration (히스토그램 구간 교정을 이용한 스테레오 영상의 휘도 보정)

  • In stereo-view system, variations of target camera position or lighting conditions cause discrepancies on the luminance and chrominance components of stereo views. These discrepancies lead to inaccurate frame view prediction and low quality of 3 D video coding. In this paper, an efficient histogram interval calibration method is proposed for stereo-view coding, so as to compensate for the luminance component of target view. First the proposed method is analyzed by the histogram of the target image frame. Then, it divide two sections of histogram of that frame to correct the color discrepancies. Secondly, each section of the target frame is corrected the luminance component by identify the maximum matching region between the reference frame and the target frame. We have verified our proposed histogram matching method in comparison with the other color correction ones. Experimental results show that it can correct better luminance calibration results of PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) and has less computation time.

The Efficient Cut Detection Algorithm Using the Weight in News Video Data (뉴스 비디오 데이터에서의 가중치를 이용한 효율적 장면변환 검출 알고리즘)

  • In order to construct the News Video Database System, cut detection technique is very important. In general, the color histogram, $\chi$2 histogram or Bin-to-Bin difference(B2B) techniques are mainly using for the scene partitioning. In this paper, we propose the efficient algorithm that is applied the weight in terms of NTSC standard to cut detection. This algorithm is able to reduce the time of acquiring and comparing histogram using by separate calculation of R, G, and B for the color histogram technique. And it also provide the efficient selection method fo threshold value by and use the news videos of KBS, MBC, SBS, CNN and NHK as experimental domains. By the result of experiment, we present the proposed algorithm is more efficient for cut detection than the previous methods, and that the basis for the automatic selection of threshold values.

  • This paper proposes an object-based image retrieval scheme using color adjacency and clustering method. Color adjacency features in boundary regions are utilized to extract candidate blocks of interest from image database and a clustering method is used to extract the regions of interest(ROI) from candidate blocks of interest. To measure the similarity between the query and database images, the histogram intersection technique is used. The color pair information used in the proposed method is robust against translation, rotation, and scaling. Consequently, experimental results have shown that the proposed scheme is superior to existing methods in terms of ANMRR.

  • An image retrieval system retrieves and offers same of similar image based on various features of image. This paper present a brand image retrieval system based on color and shape of image. We use the image for a color information by dividing into the area and extracting the area color distribution histogram. We use for the shape information by preprocessing of the boundary extraction, the centroid extraction, angular sampling etc. and calculating of the sum of the distance from the centroid to the boundary, the standard deviation, and the rate of long axis to short axis. We accomplish the retrieval through a similarity measurement by using the color and shape information which is extracted in this way.

  • 대부분의 이진화 알고리즘은 임계치를 결정하기 위하여 히스토그램을 사용하여 밝기 분포를 분석한다. 배경과 물체의 명도차이가 큰 경우에는 분할을 위해 양봉 히스토그램을 보일 때는 최적의 임계치를 한기 위해 히스토그램 골짜기를 선택하는 것만으로도 양호한 임계치 결과를 얻을 수 있으나, 배경과 물체의 밝기 차이가 크지 않거나 자기 분포가 양봉 특성을 보이지 않을 때는 히스토그램 분석만으로 적절한 임계치를 얻기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 RGB 컬러 모형의 각 색상에 대하여 퍼지 소속 함수를 적용하고, 그 결과를 이용해 배경에 비해 가독성이 높은 특징들을 배경과 분리하는 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 이진화 방법은 RGB의 각 색상에 퍼지 소속 함수를 적용하여 얻은 값들을 이용해 이진화한다. 기존의 임계치를 이용한 이진화 방법에 비해 잡음 영역을 상당히 제거 할 수 있으며, 컨테이너 영상에 적용한 결과, 기존의 방법에 비해 효율적인 것을 확인하였다.

  • Although many people watch the scene with multiple surveillance cameras, it is difficult to ensure that immediate action can be taken in the event of a crime. Therefore, there is a need for a "crime behavior detection system" that can analyze images in real time from multiple surveillance cameras installed in elevators, call immediate crime alerts, and track crime scenes and times effectively. In this paper, a study was conducted to detect violent scenes occurring in elevators using Scene Change Detection. For effective detection, an x2-color histogram combining color histogram and histogram was applied.
