시뮬레이션을 이용한 수평배치 컨테이너 터미널의 레이아웃 설계

  • 항만에 위치한 컨테이너 터미널은 수송, 하역, 저장의 기능을 고루 갖춘 대표적인 물류 시스템이다. 터미널이 충분히 제 기능을 수행하여 터미널 생산성을 향상시키기 위해서는 효율적인 레이아웃 설계가 필요하다. 터미널 레이아웃은 초기 터미널 설계단계에서 우선적으로 고려되는 의사결정 부분이며 터미널 운영 및 컨테이너 취급 비용에 중요한 영향을 미치는 요소가 된다. 본 연구에서는 개념 설계에서 구분되어지는 장치장의 배치형태 에서 수평 장치장을 모델로 하였다. 터미널 생산성에 영향을 미치는 이송능력과 적재능력의 효율적인 조정을 위하여, 블록의 배치와 사양에 따른 적재능력과 블록에 설치한 이적지점 개수에 따른 이송능력 대해 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하고자 한다.

An Exploratory Study on the Determinants of Manpower Utilization of Container Terminals in the Busan Port and Gwangyang Port (컨테이너 터미널 인력운영 변화요인의 탐색적 연구 -부산항과 광양항을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify environmental factors affecting manpower utilization of container terminals. 300 questionnaires were distributed to employees working in terminal operators in Busan and Gwangyang port. Based on the results of multiple regression analysis, first, it is proved that technology development, organizational culture and social·external environment have a significant impact on manpower utilization of container terminals. Second, this study found that technology development and social·external environment have a significant impact on manpower utilization of container terminals system. Third, it is found that technology development, social·external environment, safety and security change the composition of the workforce between office and field employees. Forth, the number of workforce is expected to gradually decrease due to technology development. Finally, it is found that technology development, organizational culture, social·external environment and terminal operation have a impact on specialization and training system of human resoures.

  • This paper describes the method of efficient container number recognition in colored container image with number plate at ATC(Automatic Transfer Crane) in container terminal yard. At the Sinseondae terminal gate in Busan, the container number recognition system is installed by "intelligent port-logistics system technology development", that is government research and development project. It is the method that it sets up the tunnel structure inside camera on the gate and it recognizes the container number in order to recognize the export container cargo automatically. However, as the automation equipment is introduced to the container terminal and the unmanned of a task is gradually accomplished, the container number recognition system for the confirmation of the object of work is required at ATC in container terminal yard. Therefore, the container number recognition system fitted for it is necessary for ATC in container terminal yard in which there are many intrusive of the character recognition through image including a sunlight, rain, snow, shadow, and etc. unlike the gate. In this paper, hardware components of the camera, illumination, and sensor lamp were altered and software elements of an algorithm were changed. that is, the difference of the brightness of the surrounding environment, and etc. were regulated for recognize a container number. Through this, a shadow problem, and etc. that it is thickly below hung with the sunlight or the cargo equipment were solved and the recognition time was shortened and the recognition rate was raised.

  • RFID technology is considered as a promising solution to increase efficiency of port logistics. Especially active RFID technology, such as e-Seal for container security, is receiving attention nowadays. If active RFID system is combined with passive RFID and legacy bar-code system overall efficiency of port logistics can be improved However, due to the device dependent control interface of RFID readers, there are many difficulties in making active-passive combined RFID system environment. In this paper, we introduce Smart Reader Interface (SRI) system, which provides a device independent RFID reader interrace to control different kinds of RFID readers by hiding device dependent control interface through adapter architecture which is similar to device driver of conventional operating systems. The key design objectives of SRI are the followings; conformance to the related standard. efficiency in processing, easy addition of an adapter for a new RFID reader. Actually, the implemented SRI system can support various kinds of commercial RFID readers, and through the test carried out not only in laboratory but also in the container terminal in the GwangYang Port, its practicality is verified.

  • As containerized maritime transport began in earnest, the size of container ships has steadily increased, and recently, the operation of 24,000 TEU-class vessels has become regular. However, concerns about the efficiency and productivity of such mega container ships from a port operational perspective have continued to be raised. The 10th Busan International Port Conference requested an in-depth study on the trends of container ship enlargement by analyzing the order status of ultra-large container ships from major global liners. Generally, the factor that drives the upsizing of ships is the realization of economies of scale that lowers transportation costs per TEU, which leads to a higher level of cost reduction per unit transportation compared to the increase in fuel consumption due to transporting large amounts of cargo with a single ship. However, it is necessary to examine whether this trend of container vessel enlargement is feasible for port operations. To this end, this study compares and analyzes the productivity and efficeiency of different ship sizes to evaluate the effect of ship size on port operations.

A Study on the Applicability of IoT for Container Terminal (컨테이너 터미널의 사물인터넷(IoT) 적용가능성에 관한 연구)

  • The Internet of things (IoT) has been applied to a variety of industrial uses such as public service sectors, medical industries, automotive industries, and so on. Led by smart cities, this is typical. However, from a logistics perspective, the level of application is insufficient. This study examines the applicability of IoT-related technology in a container terminal, an object of the present invention, to derive an applicable plan. Analytic network process (ANP) analysis reveals the following results for IoT applications in container terminals: operating systems (26.7%), safety/environmental/security systems (26.4%), equipment maintenance systems (25.3%), and facility maintenance systems (21.6 %). The second ANP analysis reveals the following results: Economy (40.2%), productivity (21.1%), service level (19.5%), and utilizing technology level (19.2%). The application or standard of evaluation is important when applying IoT technology to container terminals; however, it is not concentrated in a certain area. It is desirable to build each container system with linkage and efficiency from a macroscopic view.
