The purpose of this study is to clarify conceptually the difference of instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting by analyzing their own characteristics. The practices for instructional improvement are common in that fundamental objectives are improvement of instruction and development of teacher's professionalism in instruction. However, each area changed according to the social flow and the demands of the educational field and created a unique activity system. So, in order to get rid of this mixed use of these terms, it is meaningful to distinguish the concepts, attributes, and areas of each activity. The specific study questions were 1) what is the origin of coaching, supervision, and consulting? 2) how are instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting defined in existing research in korea? 3) how can we conceptually distinguish instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting? Based on reviewing various existing studies, First, this study investigated the conceptual origins and lexicons of coaching, supervision, and consulting, respectively, in addition reviewd the prior studies conducted in Korea with regard to instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting, and summarized how each concept is defined according to the researcher. Second, this study compared each two concept with another one. Finally, the existing definitions of instructional coaching, instructional supervision, and instructional consulting were analyzed to find out the inherent and common attributes of each concept. In conclusion, this study suggest that the concept of instructional consulting needs to be redefined to better reflect the characteristics of activities, and that studies that rethink the relationship between instructional coaching and instructional supervision are needed.
Recently there has been a high request for support for teachers' professional development and quality control to meet the demand of educational policy to introduce teacher evaluation, master teacher status, incentives for teacher competency, etc. It has been suggested that reeducation and support for professional development would be more effective to beginning teachers with a high developmental potential than to experienced teachers with routinized instruction. Since 2005 KICE-TLC has conducted research on the development of teacher supporting programs such as teaching consultation and pedagogical content knowledge(PCK) in school subjects. In line with the current education policy and previous research by KICE, this research has been conducted to meet the need for novice teacher induction by developing consulting program focused on PCK The goal of this research was to (1) explore the in light meaning of PCK in light of teaching consultation, (2) conduct a preliminary study on how to develop teaching consulting programs for secondary beginning teachers, (3) develop teaching consulting programs focused on pedagogical content knowledge(PCK), and (4) suggest implications for educational policy regarding pre-service and in-service teachers' continuing professional development and support.
The main goal of the research is to develop instructional consulting manual to help math teachers improve classroom teaching. Improving the quality of teaching in schools is stressed as a central focus of meaningful classroom instruction and high quality education. In this research, teaching consulting was defined as an activity that covers reflection process oriented towards formative assessment and continuing professional development. Within this context, subject-specific teaching consulting and teaching professionalism with focus on PCK was reviewed. Further, the questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the current situation of teaching consulting and teachers' needs for consulting. And also, specific examples of subject-specific consulting based on our previous consulting experiences in math classes were shown. Alternative ways to improve subject teaching were derived through the conferences where consultants and consultees analyze video-taped lessons conducted by the consultees. By those results, a manual for invigorating teaching consulting was developed. The contents of the manual consists of setting conditions of teaching consulting and its implementation in the classroom teaching. The first part of the manual contains steps to establish teaching consulting system, the qualification and role of the consultant, system evaluation, etc. The second part of the manual presents the pre-preparation, prescription and implementation and follow-up management steps. Each part of the manual provides consultants with specific guidelines for each step. Finally, recommendations for making policy related to ways to invigorate teaching consulting was suggested. It is expected that specific examples and cases of subject-specific teaching consulting presented in this research will be used to narrow the gap between theory and practice of teaching consulting, and to help math, science and English teachers develop teaching professionalism.
Purpose: This research aims at exploring what early childhood teachers experienced in the teachers' community for the national-level curriculum implementation while participating in group consulting. Method: The participants were 10 teachers working at the day care centers located in the capital area. They had joined this study for 9 months, sharing and practicing various strategies related to curriculum implementation through community-based group consulting. Result: First, the teachers came to understand the frame of curriculum from a different point of view. Second, the teachers focused not only on the contents of education but on the methods of education, and shared the forest of feasibility crossing educational plans and the reality. Third, they found various methods to solve the problems and learned transformation ways in the context of curriculum implementation. Fourth, it was verified that nevertheless, there was still complicated and situational dilemma in curriculum implementation. Conclusion: The community-based group consulting was meaningful for the early childhood teachers because it enables them to enhance their professional techniques for the curriculum implementation.
Teacher's gaze empathy for students in science class is considered to be effective in enhancing the learning effect. Thus, studies on gaze empathy have been conducted, but most of the studies are just to reveal the characteristics of gaze. Therefore, it is necessary to deal with a research to raise the level of science teacher's gaze empathy. The purpose of this study is to develop an instruction consulting strategy based on eye tracking for improving science teachers' gaze empathy. In this study, we selected and analyzed relevant literature on teacher's gaze empathy. We also designed a consulting strategy and then revised the design through expert reviews on validity and reliability. The developed consulting strategy was aimed to improve science teacher's gaze empathy and set quantitative goal based on eye tracking. The consulting strategy consisted of six steps: preparation for consulting, measurement and analysis of teacher's gaze empathy, instruction and feedback of gaze empathy, training for improving gaze empathy, evaluation of consulting result, and completion of the consulting. In addition, the consultation was completed or repeated again through the measurement and evaluation of gaze empathy using eye tracking. The developed consulting strategy has a value in that it provides an alternative with quantitative diagnosis and prescription for improving gaze empathy. The strategy can contribute to enhance teacher professional competency through the analysis of teaching behavior.
In this research, we investigated the effect of a mentoring program implemented in science classrooms taught by beginning teachers in order to support their professional development. As a baseline data, we examined the characteristics of beginning science teachers' teaching. Then we explored any changes in mentee teachers' teaching with the implementation of a mentoring program. The three mentor-mentee pairs participated in this study. We explored six teachers' classroom teaching episodes with their videotaped classroom teaching. Using open-ended interviews and group discussions taking place on a regular basis to analyze and compare classes of six teachers, we extracted the beginning teachers' teaching characteristics in light of teaching strategies. The common features of the participated mentee teachers' teaching are analyzed in terms of (1) classroom culture and management, (2) classroom discourse, and (3) science experiments. Through mentoring, mentee teachers recognized that increased and enriched classroom dialogues had an effect on students' content understanding. Mentee teachers also acknowledged not only the necessity of laboratory activities but also the roles and ways of managing the science activities. Ways to help beginning teachers develop instructional professionalism are discussed.

This study aims to classify the types of instructional expertise development activities of teachers who teach subjects related to software education in primary schools. To this end, the study analyzes their participation in expertise development activities over the recent three years, outcomes from these activities, and forms and characteristics of expertise development activities. In the questionnaire survey conducted for this study, 276 primary school teachers participated. According to the survey, the same largest proportion of them participated in collective job training (96%) and distant job training (96%), followed by consulting, instruction supervision, mentoring, and peer observation (82%), lectures, workshops, and seminars held by related government ministries and the provincial and municipal offices of education (69%), and teachers' study communities (66%). Among informal activities, reading accounted for the highest portion of the activities (88%), followed by the use of information on Websites including YouTude and GitHub (80%), and teachers' expertise development networks (76%). The reasons for their participation in the activities were mostly to improve their instructional expertise (80%). Their participation in the activities had an impact on usefulness to enhance instructional expertise, improvement of job competencies, application to current jobs, sense of instructional efficacy, and positive effect. These results of the study are expected to provide a foundation for preparing continued expertise development plans that can promote the educational value of primary school teachers' instructional expertise development activities for teaching subjects related to software education.
The era of digital transformation is rapidly emerging in industries and academia, including finance and logistics, and the consulting market for digital transformation is also growing. According to previous studies, the need for digital transformation is also mentioned in consulting institutions. In this process, the role of consultants should be changed according to the times, and customer relationship management and attitude toward customers are emphasized. However, consulting research has the point that research on this has not been studied in depth. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop an element of attitude focusing on consultant attitudes in the field of digital transformation. As a result of research using literature analysis and modified Delphi techniques, 'customer orientation', achievement orientation', professional dignity', 'maintenance of expertise', and 'ethics' were found to be key attitude factors. This study is meaningful in that consultant attitude elements in the digital transformation field were explored and developed by verifying content validity, and consultants in the digital transformation field can recognize the importance of attitude and use it as a basic tool for capacity improvement.

The brand consulting for paving the way for overseas-based companies to develop local brands includes many processes such as the analysis of local markets and consumers, the analysis of in-and-out circumstances including the diagnosis of corporate competence and resource, the establishment of brand strategies, the development of brand concepts, and the development of design, which should be performed before the eventual launch of overseas markets. So, the success of overseas-based brand consulting just depends on coworking(i.e., consortium) by brand experts from international marketing, design to local-overseas brand rights which have been barely touched upon by the brand experts. This study aims to present brand consulting framework and to support the development of local-fit brands when the small and medium industries, esteemed relatively less compatible than conglomerates, expand their business in the non-English-speaking countries. This study also includes the results of a demand inquiry on the local fit brand targeted for SMEs. As a brand consulting framework which has been performed at work sites through the accumulated many year's trial and error, it could be a significantly meaningful guidance for the brand experts who perform local-fit brands consulting and the SMEs who look for overseas-based brand consulting.
This study is a study on the different cognitive systems and different knowledge systems of members participating in complex and diverse consulting projects, and it is a study on team collaboration that affects the team performance of the project. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effects of team shared cognition, team transactive memory, team knowledge integration, and team efficacy in the cognitive interaction process of a consulting project. This study established a research model and research hypothesis based on previous studies. Data were collected from consultants who actually participated in the consulting project. To empirically analyze the research hypothesis, demographic analysis, validity and reliability analysis, structural model analysis for hypothesis verification, and mediating effect analysis using phantom variables were performed. As a result of the study, in order to increase team performance, it is necessary to improve team shared cognition and team transactive memory, which are cognitive systems, and team knowledge integration, which is a knowledge system, must also be improved. Therefore, there is a need for a sense of team efficacy that integrates disparate cognitive and knowledge systems, trusts each other's expertise, and enables successful team work. In addition, future studies on sub-factors of cognitive processes are needed.
