  • Even though the importance of reading voters' share of mind increases in political campaign, there is no research which analyzes engagement in perspective of political campaign. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to calculate political engagement index which is qualitative indicator about political campaign's immersion in candidate in perspective of engagement and provide scientific data for political advertisement and publicity strategy. For this purpose, A and B candidates who ran for 18th president in December 19th, 2012 are selected for subjects of the research. The young people whose voter participations are low in this presidential election are selected as subjects for responding questionnaire and are surveyed. This research is qualitative evaluation which tires to supplement a limit of qualitative analysis of content by surpassing quantitative evaluation including advertisement, promotion, public opinion on politics, ratings, etc. Evaluation attribute is designed to distribute 8 PEI into 0~100 score. If PEI is more than 50, then the score indicates immersion above average. If PEI is lower than 50, then the score indicates immersion below average. The model of the research will contribute to development of methodological research of political campaign strategy. Also, in the future, this model can be used as micro-targeting in each political campaign's election strategy.

  • Recently the government has succeeded in shutting down the Illegal Copyrighted Websites by cracking down on the operators of the websites. But this only caused 'the Balloon Effect', similar websites were created and users shifted to the new websites. 'Follow the money' is drawing attention as a way to complement the effect of policies. It tracks the commercialization scheme and fund flows of the Illegal Copyrighted Websites and blocks the supply and publication of advertisements, which are the main source of revenue. This approach aims at self-closure of Illegal websites by blocking the revenue source. In this study, we have selected and analyzed overseas cases that adopted these measures. Many countries had different policies and campaigns, but three things are common: non-punishment measures, partnership based on voluntary participation, pursuing a variety of purposes other than protecting the copyright industry. In Korea, the reason public-private Partnerships was not properly established had been caused by the difference of views between them. Advertisers and agencies need to expand their awareness that illegal advertisements can have adverse effects such as brand image damage and enormous economic losses. Also campaigns and conferences related with the policy should be held to prevent copyright infringement through mutual understanding and cooperation.

  • The present paper attempts to account for customers' purchase intention of counterfeit goods. Based on some previous analyses, we have set up a structured model for analysis with a hope to identify the relationship between benefits from using counterfeit goods and motivational factors to purchase them. It is found, first of all, that motivation for ostentation significantly influences personal benefits from using the counterfeit goods. Second, we also find that motivation for satisfaction does not exert any direct influence on the factors of benefits, though it affects decisions to purchase. Third, motivation for practicability has significant influence on personal and, more strongly, on economic benefits. Fourth, quality has significant influence on both personal and economic benefits. Again, this factor is also more closely related with economic benefits than with personal ones. We hope that we will be able to provide practical tips for those who design and plan public service advertisements that intend to reduce purchasing of counterfeit products.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate how females in the 2nd vaccination group(that is, women between the ages of 14-26) perceive cervical cancer, HPV vaccine, and the current campaign on HPV vaccine. In-depth interviews with 19 female college students between the ages of 20-26 revealed that the participants perceive the cervical cancer and vaccine as unimportant due to limited information; they were exposed to related information at random and there were lack of important information; and information provided were viewed as gender-biased. Moreover, social taboo-ness, cost and fear of its side-effects were found to influence women from getting vaccinated. Results show that participants want more fact-based and practical information, information that includes peers and men, as well as a campaign that has more frequent contact and accessibility. Findings of the study can be used for HPV prevention education in the future targeting women between the ages of 13-35. The study provides suggestion for future research and changes needed in HPV vaccine campaigns.
