The purpose of this study is to suggest a design guideline for the domestic campus master plan. The main contents of this study are as follows ; 1) Study for the characteristics and components of the comprehensive campus master plan. 2) Case study on the domestic campus plan 3) Establishment of methods for campus master plan focused on the space programming, land use planning, circulation planning, and building layout planning.

The opportunity provided for design method and strategy of sustainable campus on the waterfront, is the purpose of this paper. Waterfront campus is an important issue as it seeks to revive the sustainability and to renew the facilities. This paper reviews an assessment of its success for waterfront campus in 10 principles such as waterfront, water and safety, climate & energy, green building and transportation, green labs and recycling, health and food, social economic sustainability, fund, human, smart, also concludes with the establishment of space making for the waterfront campus for future educational facilities on the waterfront; implementation of waterfront campus maserplan; building sustainable campus in adaptation to climate change; creative and resilient cooperation.

The existing universities enlarged the scope, filled up the facilities. And many new universities are founded by increase of university students, the change of curriculum and extension of installations for new curriculum. However, the planning for university campus hinders desirable activities in campus and also the origin function of university, because of the problems caused by an application of a uniform planning standard that lacks in logical analysis and such a short step as the occasion demands for the growth and the change of the university campus changing more rapidly than any other field in society. This dissertation is for space program beginning from architectural explanation and basic planning concluding a general structure-planning for land utility, circulation planning, and building layout planning in order to find the practical solution for the applicable campus plan. The contents of this dissertation is summarized below. First, I studied the characteristics of the university, the structure of the university facilities and the expansion the development process of the campus. Second, through the case study of domestic campus planning, I analyzed the characteristics and the problems about space programming, facility layout planning, circulation planning and exterior space planning. Third, in the basis of the above analyses, I set up the directions of comprehensive campus master plan.

스마트 시대의 대학 정보화 일환으로 스마트 캠퍼스 구축이 추진되고 있다. 구축을 보다 계획적이고 체계적으로 수행하기 위해서는 정보 전략 기획(ISP)을 필요로 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스마트 캠퍼스 구축을 위한 정보 전략 기획을 수행하기 위한 방법론을 환경 변화 분석, 현황 분석, To-Be 설계, 이행 계획 수립 등의 Flow 모형에 기반을 두고 설계하고자 한다.

This study examined the composition and spatial characteristics of the Illinois Institute of Technology (1939-1959) campus by Mies van der Rohe. Studies of the Mies' architecture has been focused mostly on "universal space", structural rationality for a single building. Therefore, it is interesting to study an IIT campus through which Mies composed public space dealing with several buildings together. To determine the relationships with his previous works and the design intentions for IIT campus, this paper studied his preliminary sketches, perspective drawings etc.. By doing so, the paper presents the following conclusions. First, Mies composed the IIT campus with simple linear buildings as walls to create the "flowing space" through the campus. Secondly, the IIT campus could become the "neutral frame" integrating the campus with urban space. Third, Mies also created an open, continuous public space in the center of the campus that allows protective, quiet seclusion for the students.

As with cities, all components of a campus must be carefully calibrated to provide the facilities, services like energy, water, electricity, information and communication; classrooms, libraries and laboratories for working; transportation networks and systems for movement of persons, goods, and services; athletic and other facilities for health and competition; places to eat, recreate and socialize; places to display and store works of arts; spaces for the performing arts' spaces for active assembly or solitary pondering. The goal of this study is how to observe the campus planning and development as a part in the context of the community. This study was taken into account neighborhood concerns and Harvard design guidelines. As an observer for the university's northern campus edge, this study suggests in the context of a long and sometimes turbulent history of dialogue and negotiations between Harvard University and first host community, Agassiz which is one of Cambridge's thirteen neighborhoods.

The Purpose of this study is to develop color palettes for the campus environment to find an identity of various Universities in Korea. This research is focused on the Shin-chon campus of Yonsei University because it has a long history and a mixture of old and new modern buildings in the campus. It takes three steps to proceed this study. Firstly, it is needed to find the images and history of Yonsei University from the documents. In the second place, the colors should be collected from the building materials, four seasons in campus, buildings in campus. At this point, color measurement devices, NCS color system, digital camera and other appropriate devices were used for the study. The third step shows the results of the analysis and development of color palettes based on the analyzed materials from second step. This research suggests three major color groups. The typical main colors of the campus building are YR/anchromatic with middle level of value and chroma from the analysis. The sub-colors are similar to the main colors with pale/light grayish/dull/deep tone. The color palettes out of the results could be used as a standard for campus color scheme in the future to build an identity of Yonsei University.
