도시저소득층노인들의 급식유무에 따른 영양상태 비교

  • 우리나라 급식서비스프로그램에서는 도시저소득층 재가노인을 대상으로 사회복지관등을 통하여 몇 개의 지정된 장소에서 1일 1끼니(점심정도)의 집단급식서비스(congregate site service)를 제공하고 있다. 도시저소득층노인들의 경우 영양소 섭취상태가 매우 저조한 것으로 나타나 이러한 급식서비스는 노인들의 영양상태에 많은 영향을 끼칠 것으로 생각된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 서울 수서지역에 거주하는 노인 273명(남: 61명, 여: 212명)중 적어도 최근 1년 동안 일주일에 5회 이상의 식사에 참여한 군을 급식춘(N=137)으로 하고 나머지를 비급식군(N=136)으로 하여 영양상태를 비교하였다. 급식군은 비급식군에 비해 독거노인의 비율이 유의하게 높았으며 교육수준이 낮고 식품비 사용액수가 적었다. 24시간 회상법으로 조사한 결과 급식군은 비급식군에 비해 동물성단백질(p < 0.001), 동물성지방(p < 0.01), 동물성칼슘(p <0.01), 동물성 철분(P <0.001), 아연(p <0.01), 비타민B$_2$ (p < 0.001), 비타민B$_{6}$ (p < 0.01), 콜레스테롤(p <0.001)섭취량이 유의하게 많은 것으로 나타났으며 MAR도 유의하게 높았으나(P <0.01) 급식, 비급식군의 MAR이 각각 0.59, 0.53으로 모두 식사의 질이 낮았다. 급식군은 점심 급식을 통하여 하루 총섭취량 중 에너지는 39.7%, 당질33.7%, 단백질 43.8%, 지방 52.0%, 칼슘 35.2%, 철분은 36.9%, 비타민E 55.7%를 섭취하고 있어 하루 총섭취량의 33-56%를 급식에 의존하고 있었다. 반면에 비급식군은 하루 총섭취량 중 18-31%의 영양소를 점심으로 섭취하고 있어 대조를 보였다. 급식군은 비급식군에 비해 키가 유의하게 작은 것(p<0.001)외에는 다른 신체 계측치에서는 유의차가 없었다. 급식군은 혈중 철분지표 중에서 유의하게 낮은 MCH(P < 0.05)와 유의하게 높은 TIBC를 보였으나(p <0.05) hemoglobin 수치에 의한 빈혈비율(여 < 12.0d/㎗, 남 < 13.5g/㎗)은 급식, 비급식군 각각 20.2%, 23.8%로서 유의한 차이가 없었으며 12문항을 사용하여 조사한 우울점수에서도 군 간의 유의한 차이가 없었다. 이상으로 보아 급식군은 비급식군에 비해 사회 경제적 수준이 낮으나 점심급식을 통하여 하루 필요영양소의 1/3-1/2를 섭취함으로써 비급식군에 비해 영양소섭취량이 높거나 비슷한 섭취량을 유지하고 있었으며 신체계측치와 빈혈비율 등에서 급식군에 비해 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 급식과 비급식군 모두에서 MAR이 낮아 아직도 대부분의 섭취영양소가 권장량의 75%미만으로 나타나 저소득층노인에게서 급식의 확대와 함께 급식의 질을 좀 더 높일 수 있도록 정부와 자치단체에서 의 각별한 관심과 지원이 절실히 필요하다고 생각된다.

Influence of Histaminergic Receptor Activation on Catecholamine Secretion in The Perfused Rat Adrenal Gland (흰쥐 관류부신에서 Histamine 수용체 활성화가 Catecholamine 분비작용에 미치는 영향)

  • The present study was conducted to examine the characteristics of histamine on catecholamine secretion in the isolated perfused rat adrenal gland and to clarify the mechanism of its secretory action. Histamine (37.5 to 150 ug) injected into an adrenal vein evoked a dose-dependent significant secretory response of catecholamines (CA) from the rat adrenal gland. However, upon the repeated injection of histamine (150 ug) at 120 min intervals, CA secretion was rapidly decreased after third injection of histamine. Tachyphylaxis to releasing effects of CA evoked by histamine was observed by the repeated administration. The histamine-induced CA secretion was markedly inhibited by the pretreatment with chlorisondamine, diphenhydramine, ranitidine, $Ca^{++}-free$ Krebs solution, nicardipine and TMB-8 while was not affected by pirenzepine. Moreover, the CA secretion evoked by ACh was considerably reduced by the prior perfusion of histamine $(6.8{\times}10^{-5} M)$ for 30 min. These experimental data suggest that histamine causes secretion of CA in a calcium dependent manner from the perfused rat adrenal gland and that its secretory effect is mediated through activation of both $H_1-$ and $H_2-histaminergic$ receptors located in adrenal medulla, which may be associated with stimulation of cholinergic nicotinic receptors.

  • 목적 : 골관절염은 진통을 수반하는 퇴행성 관절질환이며, 장애를 일으키는 주요한 원인이 된다. 또한 노인들에 있어서 골관절염은 매우 흔한 질환이라 할 수 있다. Nitric oxide(NO)는 Nitric Oxide Synthase(NOS)에 의하여 칼슘의존성통로를 통하여 L-arginine 으로부터 합성되어지며, NO는 중추신경계에 있어서 중요한 세포사이의 전달자이다. 방법 :본 연구에서는 위령선 으로부터 추출한 액이 콜라겐으로 유도된 관절염에 걸린 쥐의 dorsolateral periaqueductal gray(DL-PAG) 영역에서 nNOS(neuronal NOS)와 NOS에 대하여 미치는 영향 을 nNOS immunohistochemistry와 nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-diaphorase(NADPH-d) 검사법을 통하여 조사하였다. 결과 : 골관절염이 유발된 흰쥐의 DL-PAG 영역에서 nNOS와 NOS의 발현억제가 관찰되었으며, 위령선이 콜라겐으로 유도된 골관절염에서 감소된 nNOS와 NOS의 발현이 증가되었다. 결론 : 본 연구를 통하여 위령선은 골관절염이 유발된 흰쥐의 DL-PAG에서의 nNOS와 NOS의 발현에 영향을 미친다는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Relationship between Fertilizer Application Level and Soil Chemical Properties for Strawberry Cultivation under Greenhouse in Chungnam Province (충남지역 시설 딸기재배지 시비수준과 토양 화학성과의 관계)

  • Nowadays, Korean farmers rely more on chemical fertilizers than low input sustainable agriculture drawn from the farm itself. In order to improve soil nutritional imbalance for environment friendly agriculture in greenhouse, we have carried out a relationship between fertilizer application level, and soil chemical properties for strawberry cultivation at 56 sites in Chungnam Province. Average amount of nitrogen as basal fertilization was 92.3 Mg $ha^{-1}$ which higher 2.6 times compared to standard amount of basal fertilizer. In case of compost application more than 30 Mg $ha^{-1}$, excessive ratio compared to optimum level was higher 1.8 times for EC value, 3.0 times for available phosphate, 2.6 times for exchangeable potassium, 1.7 times for exchangeable calcium, and 1.6 times for exchangeable magnesium, respectively. Amounts of compost application significantly correlated with available phosphate (r=0.370, $p{\leq}0.01$), exchangeable potassium(r=0.429, $p{\leq}0.01$), exchangeable calcium(r=0.404, $p{\leq}0.01$), exchangeable magnesium(r=0.453, $p{\leq}0.01$), and exchangeable sodium(r=0.369, $p{\leq}0.01$), respectively. Our results suggest that soil nutrients management for sustainable agriculture was optimum fertilization based on soil testing for strawberry cultivation in greenhouse.

Effect of a Phospholamban Peptide on the Skeletal Sarcoplasmic Reticulum $Ca^{2+}$ Transport (골격근 근장그물 칼슘이동에 대한 Phospholamban 펩타이드의 조절)

  • Phospholamban is the regulator of $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ in cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR). The mechanism of regulation appears to involve inhibition by dephosphorylated phospholamban. Phosphorylation of phospholamban relieves this inhibition. Recently, there has been a report that the cytoplasmic domain (amino acids 1-25) of phospholamban is insufficient to inhibit the $Ca^{2+}$ pump. To explore the domains of phospholamban responsible for $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ inhibitory activity, we examined the effect of a synthetic phospholamban peptide consisting of amino acid residues 1-25 on $Ca^{2+}$ uptake by reconstituted skeletal SR $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$. The $Ca^{2+}-ATPase$ of skeletal SR was purified and reconstituted in proteoliposomes containing phosphatidylcholine (PC) or phosphatidylcholine: phosphatidylserine (PC:PS). Inclusion of a phospholamban peptide in PC proteoliposomes was associated with significant inhibition of the initial rates of $Ca^{2+}$ uptake at pCa 6.0, and phosphorylation of this peptide by the catalytic subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase reversed the inhibitory effect on the $Ca^{2+}$ pump. Similar effects of phospholamban peptide were also observed using PC:PS proteoliposomes. Based on these results, we could conclude that the cytoplasmic domain of phospholamban, containing the phosphorylation sites, by itself is sufficient to inhibit the $Ca^{2+}$ pump of SR.

EFFECT OF EUGENOL AND CAPSAICIN ON THE VOLTAGE-DEPENDENT ION CHANNELS OF TRIGEMINAL AFFERENTS (삼차신경 일차구심 뉴런의 전압의존성 이온통로에 대한 capsaicin과 eugenol의 작용)

  • 삼차신경절의 뉴런이 구강악안면영역에서의 촉각, 입각, 온도각 및 통각 등 다양한 감각을 중추신경계로 전달하는 역할을 하는 것은 주지의 사실이다. 이러한 신경전달에 있어서 이온통로는 감각정보를 전달하는데 핵심적인 역할을 수행하며 특히 소디움 통로는 활동전위의 발생에 중요하다. 소디움 통로는 tetrodotoxin-sensitive(TTX-s) 및 tetrodotoxin-resistant(TTX-r) 통로로 나누어지는 데 이 중 TTX-r 통로에 발생되는 tetrodotoxin-resistant sodium current(TTX-r $I_{Na}$)는 capsaicin에 민감한 일차구심신경세포에서 유해자극에 의해 통각신호를 발생시키고 전달하는데 중요하다. 또한 칼슘 통로는 시냅스 전도에 있어서 필수적인 역할을 수행하고 있다 한편 치과영역에서 치수의 진정 목적으로 eugenol이 흔히 사용되고 있다. 그러나 eugenol의 그 작용 기전에 대해서 현재까지 이온 통로에 대한 상세한 결과가 없는 실정이며 최근의 보고에 의하면 eugenol이 capsaicin 수용기를 통하여 감각신경에 대한 억제작용을 나타낸다고 한다. 따라서 본 실험은 eugenol과 capsaicin이 흰쥐의 삼차신경절의 TTX-r $I_{Na}$와 칼슘통로에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고 eugenol이 capsaicin 수용기를 통하여 작용하는지를 검증하고자 시행되었다. 삼차신경절 뉴런은 100~150g의 흰쥐의 삼차신경절로부터 외과적으로 절제하여 통법의 화학적 및 기계적 처리를 통해 단일세포로 분리하였고 이를 whole-cell patch clamp 방법을 이용하여 시행한 바 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 1mM의 dugenol은 흰쥐 삼차신경절 뉴런의 TTX-r $I_{Na}$와 HVA $I_{Ca}$를 억제하였다. 2. $1{\mu}m$의 capsaicin은 흰쥐 삼차신경절 뉴런의 TTX-r $I_{Na}$와 HVA $I_{Ca}$를 억제하였다. 3. Capsazepine은 capsaicin의 HVA $I_{Ca}$에 대한 억제작용을 차단하였다. 4. Capsazepine은 capsaicin의 HVA $I_{Ca}$에 대한 억제작용을 차단하지 못하였다. 결론적으로 eugenol과 capsaicin은 tetrodotoxin-resistant sodium current(TTX-r $I_{Na}$)와 high voltage-activated calcium current(HVA $I_{Ca}$)를 모두 억제하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 작용이 통각의 발생과 시냅스 전달과정을 차단하여 치수 진정 목적으로 많이 사용하는 eugenol의 작용기전으로 판단된다. 한편 capsaicin의 길항제인 capsazepine을 전처치하였을 때에도 eugenol의 HVA $I_{Ca}$에 대한 억제효과는 변화가 없었다. 이와같은 결과로 보아 HVA $I_{Ca}$에 관한 한 eugenol은 capsaicin 수용기를 통하여 나타나지 않는 것으로 사료된다.

Role of Dual Oxidase 2 in Reactive Oxygen Species Production Induced by Airborne Particulate Matter PM10 in Human Epidermal Keratinocytes (인간 표피 각질형성세포에서 대기 미립자 물질 PM10에 의해 유도되는 반응성 산소종의 생성에서 Dual oxidase 2의 역할)

  • Particulate matters with a diameter of < $10{\mu}m$ (PM10) exert oxidative stress and inflammatory events in various organs. The purpose of this study was to examine the molecular mechanism of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production induced by PM10 in the human epidermal keratinocytes (HEKs). When cultured HEKs were exposed to PM10, ROS production was induced and it was inhibited by apocynin, an antioxidant. The mRNA expression of NADPH oxidase (NOX) family was analyzed in order to examine their role in PM10-induced ROS production. PM10 increased the mRNA expression of NOX1, NOX2, dual oxidase (DUOX) 1 and DUOX2. HEKs expressed DUOX1 and DUOX2 at higher levels compared to other NOXs. The mRNA expression of dual oxidase maturation factors, DUOXA1 and DUOXA2, was also increased by PM10. We examined whether these calcium-dependent enzymes, DUOX1 and DUOX2, mediate the PM10-induced ROS production. A selective intracellular calcium chelator, BAPTA-AM, attenuated ROS production induced by PM10 or calcium ionophore A23187. The small intereference RNA (siRNA)-mediated down-regulation of DUOX2, but not DUOX1, attenuated the ROS production induced by PM10. PM10 increased the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin $(IL)-1{\beta}$, IL-6, IL-8 and interferon $(IFN)-{\gamma}$. SiRNA-mediated down-regulation of DUOX2 suppressed the PM10-induced expression of $IFN-{\gamma}$ but not other cytokines. This study suggests that DUOX2 plays a crucial role in ROS production and inflammatory response in PM10-exposed keratinocytes.

Enhancement of the Working Capacity and Selectivity Factor of Calcium-Exchanged Y Zeolites for Carbon Dioxide Pressure Swing Adsorption (이산화탄소 압력순환흡착을 위한 칼슘 이온교환 Y 제올라이트의 작업용량과 선택계수 향상)

  • Y zeolites with different extra-framework cations, such as $Na^+$, $N^+$, $Ca^{2+}$, and $Cu^{2+}$, with different charge and ionic radius have been investigated to greatly enhance a working capacity (W) of $CO_2$ adsorption at $25^{\circ}C$ and a $CO_2/CO$ selectivity factor (S). A sample of NaY with a very small amount of 0.012% $Ca^{2+}$ was fully reversible for seven times repeated $CO_2$ adsorption/desorption cycles, thereby forming no surface carbonates unlikely earlier reports. Although at pressures above 4 bar, 2.00% CaY, 1.60% CuY and 1.87% LiY all showed a $CO_2$ adsorption very similar to that measured for NaY, they gave a significant decrease in the adsorption at lower pressures, depending on the metal ion. At 0.5 ~ 2.5 bar, the extent of $CO_2$ adsorption was in the order NaY > 1.60% CuY > 2.00% CaY > 1.87% LiY. All the $Na^+-based$ metals-exchanged zeolites have a FAU (faujasite) framework and a Si/Al value near 2.6; thus, there is no discernible difference in the framework topology, framework chemical compositions, effective aperture size, and channel structure between the zeolite samples. Therefore, the distinctive behavior in the adsorption of $CO_2$ with a character as a weak Lewis acid is associated with the site basicity of the zeolites, and the interaction potentials of the cations. Different trend was shown for a CO adsorption due to weaker quadrupole interactions. Adsorption of $CO_2$ and CO on samples of CaY with 0.012 to 5.23% Ca disclosed a significant dependence on the Ca loading. The $CO_2$ adsorption increased when the cation exists up to ca. 0.05%, while it decreased at higher Ca amounts. However, values for both W and S could greatly increase as the bare zeolite is enriched by $Ca^{2+}$ ions. The 5.23% CaY had $W=2.37mmol\;g^{-1}$ and S = 4.37, and the former value was comparable to a benchmark reported in the literature.

Expression Analysis of OsCPK11 by ND0001 oscpk11 Mutants of Oryza sativa L. under Salt, Cold and Drought Stress Conditions (염분, 저온 및 가뭄 스트레스 조건에서 벼 ND0001 oscpk11 돌연변이체의 OsCPK11 발현 분석)

  • Calcium-dependent protein kinases (CDPKs) are known to be involved in regulating plant responses to abiotic stresses such as salinity, cold temperature and dehydration,. Although CDPKs constitute a large multigene family consisting of 31 genes in rice, only a few rice CDPKs' functions have been identified. Therefore, in order to elucidate the functions of OsCPK11 in rice, this study was intended to focus on the expression pattern analysis of OsCPK11 in wild type and ND0001 oscpk11 mutant plants under these abiotic stresses. For the salt, cold and drought stress treatment, seedlings were exposed to 200 mM NaCl, 4℃ and 20% PEG 6,000, respectively. RT-PCR and quantitative real-time PCR were performed to determine the expression patterns of OsCPK11 in wild type and ND0001 mutant plants. RT-PCR results showed that OsCPK11 transcripts in the wild type and heterozygous mutant were detected, but not in the homozygous mutant. Real-time PCR results showed that relative expression of OsCPK11 of wild type plants was increased and reached to the highest level at 24 hr, at 6 hr and at 24 hr under salt, cold and drought stress conditions, respectively. Relative expression of OsCPK11 of ND0001 homozygous plant was significantly reduced compared to that of wild type. These results suggested that oscpk11 homozygous mutant knocks out OsCPK11 and OsCPK11 might be involved in salt, cold and drought stress signaling by regulating its gene expression.

Evaluation of Mixed Treatment of Amino Acid Liquid Fertilizer and Compost Tea as a Substitute for Oil-cake in Organic Cultivation of Maize (옥수수 유기재배에서 유박 대체제로써 아미노산액비와 퇴비차의 혼합처리 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mixed treatment of compost tea and amino acid liquid fertilizer as a substitute of oil cake for the organic cultivation of maize in Goesan, Chungbuk province. As a result, nitrogen, phosphoric acid, potassium, calcium and magnesium contents of each organic fertilizer were in the order of oil cake > amino acid fertilizer > compost tea. Each of these organic fertilizers had little influence on the change of soil chemical. Individual treatment of amino acid fertilizer and oil cake for weight of an ear as well as all individual treatments for the fresh weight of 100 kernels showed significant increase, compared to the untreated control. For the corn yield of merchantable quality, each treatment of compost tea, amino acid liquid fertilizer and oil cake increased higher 3.9, 5.4 and 5.9% than untreated control, respectively. On the other hand, as a result of mixed treatment of amino acid fertilizer and compost tea, the change of soil chemical property was insignificant. The mixed treatment, Nonetheless, showed significant increase for stem height to 1st ear, grain setting length in an ear, weight of an ear, and fresh weight of 100 kernels, compared to the oil cake as a control. After all, the corn yield of merchantable quality produced by the mixed treatment was 3.9% higher than the control. Therefore, our study would be considered that the mixed treatment of amino acid and compost tea is one of organic materials that can replace oil-cake in maize.
