Design & Implementation of a PC-Cluster for Image Feature Extraction of a Content-Based Image Retrieval System (내용기반 화상검색 시스템의 화상 특징 추출을 위한 PC-Cluster의 설계 및 구현)

  • 본 논문에서는 내용 기반의 화상 검색 시스템을 위한 화상 특징 추출을 고속으로 수행하기 위하여 TCP/IP 프로토콜을 사용하는 LAN 환경에서 유휴(Idle) PC들을 사용한 PC 클러스터에 관해 연구하였다. 실험에 사용한 화상 특징(Image feature)으로서는 칼라의 응집도를 사용하는 CCV(Color Coherence Vector), 화상의 엔트로피를 정량화한 PIM(Picture Information Measure), Gaussian-Laplacian 에지 검출 연산을 사용한 SEV(Spatial Edge Histogram Vector)로서 이들을 추출하기 위한 Task를 Master rude에서 Slave rude들로 전송하고, 연산에 사용 될 화상 데이터를 전송한 후 연산을 수행하고 결과를 다시 Master node로 전송하는 전통적인 Task-Farming형태의 PC Cluster를 구성하였다. 연산에 참여하는 클러스터 노드의 개수를 증가시키며 Task와 화상데이터를 전송하여 이에 따른 연산시간을 측정하고 비교하였다. 실험 결과는 유휴 PC들로 구성된 PC클러스터를 이용한 효율적인 내용기반의 화상 검색 시스템을 구성하기 위해 활용이 가능하다.

Robust Watermarking toward Compression Attack in Color Image (압축공격에 강인한 칼라영상의 워터마킹)

  • In this paper. digital watermarking algorithm based on human visual system and transform domain is presented. Firstly, original image is separated into RGB thannels, watermark is embedded into the coefficients of DCT so as to consider a contrast sensitivity and texture degrees. In preprocessing, DCT domain based transform is involved and binary image of visually recognizable patterns is utilized as a watermark. Consequently, experimental results showed that proposed algorithm is robust and imperceptibility such destruction attack as JPEG compression.

  • Visual and color in Korean newspaper advertisements appeared in transformational advertising (21cm$\times$30.4cm) were analyzed. Data were gathered from 191 advertisements shown on major four daily newspaper; Dong-a, Joong-ang, Chosun, and Hanguk from October to December in 2000. From the results of this research, researcher concluded the followings; Both Korean and English are frequently used. With expectation of high readability, Roman/serifs and San serifs are mostly used typefaces. Selecting color for copy and backgraund in advertisements became more varied to satisfy varied consumers' personality.

  • 20C까지 단순히 밝혀주고, 점멸만 하는 조명형태가 21C부터는 밝기의 조정, 칼라의 조정이 병행된 감성조명의 시대로 도래하여, 주거생활 조명, 상업용 조명, 문화공간의 조명 둥에 본격적으로 도입되기 시작했다. 특히, LED 응용조명은 자동차 분야 및 PV분야 등 다양하게 활용되고 있으며, 연 4조원의 세계시장과 2,000억원의 국내시장으로 점유되고 있으며, 연평균 45% 성장 ($1995{\sim}2004$)으로, 성능은 향상되고, 가격은 년 $10{\sim}15%$로 인하되어 "미디어파사드"로 그 응용이 눈부시게 가속화 되는 실정이다. 조명기술의 눈부신 발전과 조명산업의 발전이 어우러진 가운데 조명 산업 현장에는 조명전문가의 소요가 급속히 발생되고 있는 반면에 실무형 조명전문가를 양성하는 교육기관과 프로그램이 턱없이 부족하여, 수요에 비하여 조명전문가 양성은 요원한 실정이다. 조명교육시스템을 구축하고, 실무형 조명전문가를 양성하고 있는 경북전문대학의 조명전문가 양성교육시스템을 참고로 하여, 보다 효율적인 단계별 중견조명 전문가의 양성에 대해 연구하여, 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 순간적으로 승모판에서 혈류가 역류하는 영역을 측정하기 위해서, PISA 방법이 자주 이용되고 있다. 이 방법은 물질보존법칙에 근거하여, 구멍을 통과하는 유체량을 isotach 표면적과 이에 대응하는 속도의 곱으로 구하는 것이다. 이러한 PISA 방법에서 사용되는 유동모델은 반구모델과 비반구모델의 형태인데, 이는 isotach 표면적이 반구이거나 비반구임을 가정하여 계산된 것이다. 이러한 isotach 모델링에서는 isotach의 높이와 폭의 결정이 유체량을 추정하는데 아주 중요한 변수가 된다. 본 연구에서는 in-vitro 칼라 도플러 영상으로부터 PISA 영역을 추정을 위하여 영역기반을 근간으로 하는 비반구모델에 대한 표면적 추정방법을 제안하였다. 이 방법의 타당성을 알아보기 위해 180개의 칼라 도플러 영상에 대해 isotach의 높이와 폭을 추정한 결과, 기존의 에지기반방법이 19개 영상에서 에러를 가지는 반면, 제안한 방법에서는 에러영상이 없음을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper aims to detect Speed Bump by using Omni-directional Camera and to suggest Real-time update scheme of Speed Bump through Vision Based Approach. In order to detect Speed Bump from sequence of camera images, noise should be removed as well as spot estimated as shape and pattern for speed bump should be detected first. Now that speed bump has a regular form of white and yellow area, we extracted speed bump on the road by applying erosion and dilation morphological operations and by using the HSV color model. By collecting huge panoramic images from the camera, we are able to detect the target object and to calculate the distance through GPS log data. Last but not least, we evaluated accuracy of obtained result and detection algorithm by implementing SLAMS (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping system).

  • This paper proposes hand gesture recognition using shape similarity method. For this, we require two steps which are aquisition of Hand area and similarity evaluation. First step is extracting hand area using YCbCr color spare. Then eliminate noise through filter and analyzing histogram. For doing this, we ran measure similarity of hand gesture by applying TSR after getting contour. Finally, we utilize shape similarity for recognizing of hand gesture.

  • The optical absorption spectrum was measured of the tinted powder, tinted solution and tinted lens in the visible regions. The tinted powder was very different with color of tinted lens that the optical absorptions was so higher, composed of the thick-gray color. The optical absorptions of tinted solution were just a little appeared by the energy split of a transition metal ion, so constructed with each color space. The optical absorptions of the tinted lens were appeared with the energy split peaks to a transition metal ion, so its were affected by the color constructions. The optical absorption peaks of each lens were depend on the tinted time. Blue color lens had a lot of absorption in the short wavelength regions than 500nm, and had a little appeared in the high wavelength regions than 500nm. In case of a yellow color, the optical absorptions were appeared quite contrary to the blue color, so these colors had the opponent-colors each other. In case of green color, the optical absorptions had a high in the both edges, had a low in the middle regions. In the pink color, by the optical absorptions form of quite contrary to the green color it, these colors had the opponent-colors each other. In the brown color, the optical absorptions had a maximum values in the short wavelength regions, and it gradually decreased goes by the long wavelength regions.

  • In this paper, we describe image mosaicing techniques for constructing a large high-resolution image with images taken by a video camera in hand. we propose the method which is automatically retrieving the exact matching area using color information and shape information. The proposed method extracts first candidate areas which have similar form using a Voronoi Distance Matching Method which is rapidly estimating the correspondent points between adjacent images, and calculating initial transformations of them and finds the final matching area using color information. It is a method that creates Voronoi Surface which set the distance value among feature points and other points on the basis of each feature point of a image, and extracts the correspondent points which minimize Voronoi Distance in matching area between an input image and a basic image using the binary search method. Using the Levenberg-Marquadt method we turn an initial transformation matrix to an optimal transformation matrix, and using this matrix combine a basic image with a input image.

In red case, move in $G{\rightarrow}R$, $B{\rightarrow}Y$ form tinted time increases, and Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value got each -3.49 and 0.90. In green case, CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ coordination transfer form is $R{\rightarrow}G$, $B{\rightarrow}Y$ form. Got the pure green color color in 10 min's tinted time. Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value got each -0.72 and -0.55. Get into pure yellow and blue color case tinted time increases. Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value are 14.11 and 1.58 in yellow, and Parameter ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$ value are -11.62 and 1.30 in blue color.
