An Implementation of EMV Specifications for Smartcard Terminals (스마트 카드 터미널를 위한 EMV Specification의 구현)

  • Smartcard is a kind of computing device with it's own processor and memory Thus, the international money market is going to accomodate the use of smartcards instead of traditional magnetic cards for the future money market. EMV is a standard protocol for smartcards, proposed by Europay, Mastercard, and Visa, which are three famous international settlement organizations. This paper presents the implementation of EMV specifications for the smartcard terminals for supporting various application programs. This paper shows that the implemented EMV terminal passes the international approval tests.

  • 스마트카드 운영체제는 카드와 터미널간의 인증(authentication), 메시지 처리 및 메시지 처리시 비밀성(security) 유지 등의 작업을 수행한다. 본 논문은 스마트카드에서 DES 암호 알고리즘보다 보안성이 뛰어나고, 다양한 응용을 지원하기 위해서 RSA 암호 알고리즘을 이용한 확장 가능한 운영체제를 구현한다. 스마트카드 시스템과 운영체제의 구조는 ISO/IEC 7816 규정을 따르고 있었고, 몽고메리 알고리즘을 이용한 RSA 암호 알고리즘은 스마트카드에서 인증과 스마트카드 내에서 파일의 보안성, 메시지 보안 명령어를 안전하게 수행한다. 본 논문에서 제시한 스마트카드 운영체제는 다양한 응용을 지원하기 위하여 응용 목적에 따라 운영체제와 응용 프로그램을 확장할 수 있게 설계되었다.

  • In this paper, we describe a design and implementation method of a smart card operating system for multi applications. A smart card is the independent computing system and is able to be used in multi applications such as the electronic commerce and the electronic cash. Smart card operation system(SCOS) provides a basis of smart card booting, and controls and manages application programs. SCOS can produce and control a file system to support multi applications in EEPROM, communicate commands and messages with outside devices, process a command, produce a reply message, and provide security functions of file security in EEPROM, and communication security. Therefor, in this paper, we design and implement SCOS system that provides the authentication between a card and a terminal, the session authentication for multi applications, the processing of commands, and the maintenance of the security.

  • Java Card has gained genera1 acceptance with standard for smart card and (U)SIM technology, and it is in distinction from native card by its post-issuance of an application and independence from hardware platforms. However, a main weak point of Java Card is its low execution speed caused by the hardware limitation and Java programming language itself. In this paper, we propose a new Java Card Installer to improve the download speed during the post-issuance of an application by resolving symbolic references to physical references in HAM. Our Resolution_In_RAM is based on the improved new RAM writing is 100,000 times faster than EEPROM writing and PageBuffer that is operated as block mode, rather than cell mode is used to write to EEPROM. Consequently, the total number of EEPROM writing are reduced 37%, and the times of downloading are reduced over 30% by using the Resolution_In_RAM-based Java Card Installer.

  • Thia paper suggests a milti user-authentication system comprises that DNA biometric informatiom, owner's RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) smartcard of hardware token, and PKI digital signqture of software. This system improved items proposed in [1] as follows : this mechanism provides one RFID smartcard instead of two user-authentication smartcard(the biometric registered seal card and the DNA personal ID card), and solbers user information exposure as RFID of low proce when the card is lost. In addition, this can be perfect multi user-autentication system to enable identification even in cases such as identical twins, the DNA collected from the blood of patient who has undergone a medical procedure involving blood replacement and the DNA of the blood donor, mutation in the DNA base of cancer cells and other cells. Therefore, the proposed system is applied to terminal log-on with RFID smart card that stores accurate digital DNA biometric information instead of present biometric user-authentication system with the card is lost, which doesn't expose any personal DNA information. The security of PKI digital signature private key can be improved because secure pseudo random number generator can generate infinite one-time pseudo randon number corresponding to a user ID to keep private key of PKI digital signature securely whenever authenticated users access a system. Un addition, this user-authentication system can be used in credit card, resident card, passport, etc. acceletating the use of biometric RFID smart' card. The security of proposed system is shown by statistical anaysis.

  • RFID/USN은 여러 산업분야 및 실생활에 많은 활용이 기대되는 분야이다. 그 중 RFID는 교통카드 및 자산관리, 물류관리, 출입통제 등 여러 분야에서 적용되고 있다. 최근 군부대에서까지 RFID 시스템을 활용한 'u국방' 체제 확립에도 그 적용이 확산되고 있다. 그러나 RFID 시스템의 경우, Tag의 규격 및 프로토콜에 따라 Reader의 전반적인 사양이 달라지는 문제가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제에 착안하여 ATmel사의 읽기/쓰기가 가능한 IDIC인 T5557을 활용하여 RFID 시스템을 구현하고, 임의로 설정한 Tag ID 정보를 이용하여 터미널 프로그램을 통해 수신 가능함을 보였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 항만 교통 혼잡 문제를 해결하기 위해 최적화와 관련된 요소와 트럭 운전기사와 터미널 사이의 협상과 관련된 요소를 새로운 방식으로 고려한 중장기 및 실시간 스케줄링 모델을 제시한다. 중장기 스케줄링 모델은 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션, 실시간 스케줄링 모델은 알파고 제로의 원리와 베이즈 정리를 이용하여 구현했다. 실험 결과 제시된 알파고 제로를 이용한 실시간 스케줄링 시스템이 화물차 평균 지연시간을 30분에서 4분으로 대폭 줄여 지연 시간을 최소화하는 것을 입증했다. 실험 관련 코드는 다음 주소에서 확인할 수 있다 : https://github.com/yulleta/Application_of_AlphaGo-Zero_to_port_arrival_scheduling

Latent mobility pattern analysis of bus passengers with LDA (LDA 기법을 이용한 버스 승객의 잠재적 이동패턴 분석)

  • Recently, transportation big data generated in the transportation sector has been widely used in the transportation policies making and efficient system management. Bus passengers' mobility patterns are useful insight for transportation policy maker to optimize bus lines and time intervals in a city. We propose a new methodology to discover mobility patterns by using transportation card data. We first estimate the bus stations where the passengers get-off because the transportation card data don't have the get-off information in most cities. We then applies LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation), the most representative topic modeling technique, to discover mobility patterns of bus passengers in Cheong-Ju city. To understand discovered patterns, we construct a data warehouse and perform multi-dimensional analysis by bus-route, region, time-period, and the mobility patterns (get-on/get-off station). In the case of Cheong Ju, we discovered mobility pattern 1 from suburban area to Cheong-Ju terminal, mobility pattern 2 from residential area to commercial area, mobility pattern 3 from school areas to commercial area.

Bus stop passenger waiting simulation considering transfer passengers: A case study at Cheongju Intercity Bus Terminal (환승객을 고려한 버스 정류장 승객 대기 시뮬레이션: 청주 시외 버스 터미널 정류장 사례 연구)

  • After the integrated fare system has been applied, public transportation and transfer traffic increased. As a result, transfer passengers must be considered in the operation of the bus. Although previous studies have limitations due to utilizing deterministic mathematical models, which fails to reflect the stochastic movements of passengers and buses, in this study, a more realistic bus stop micro-simulation model is proposed. Based on the proposed simulation model, we represent the relationship between bus arrival interval and passenger wait time as a regression model and empirically show the differences between the cases with and without transfer passengers. Also, we propose a method converting passenger waiting time to cost and find optimal bus arrival interval based on the converted cost. It is expected the proposed method enables bottom-up decision making reflecting practical situation.
