Environmental problem awareness, eco-friendly attitude and eco-friendly nursing practice in hospital nurses (병원 간호사의 환경문제 인식, 친환경 태도, 친환경 간호수행)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between environment problem recognition, eco-friendly attitude, and eco-friendly nursing practice. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 191 hospital nurses from October to November, 2012. The data were analyzed through t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. There was a positive correlation between environment problem recognition (r=.46, p<.001), eco-friendly attitude (r=.36, p<.001), and eco-friendly health care in the hospital nurses. The explanatory power of the variables accounted for 35.0%. This study indicated that it is necessary to promote the awareness towards environment problem and eco-friendly attitude in the hospital nurses in Korea.

A Study on the Perception of Environment-friendly Agricultural Products among Dietitians in the Capital Area (수도권지역 영양사의 친환경 농산물 인식에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the quality of school meal and the satisfaction of students through dietitians' awareness and perception of environment-friendly agricultural products by providing the government, etc. with basic data on them. A survey was conducted on dietitians in the capital area to analyze the level of awareness about environment-friendly agricultural products, followed by a factor analysis, a correlation analysis and a multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows: Dietitians had a high level of knowledge about environment-friendly agricultural products, and there were significant differences with respect to age, work experience, the number of people provided with meals and the cost ratio of foods to agricultural products. The perception of environment-friendly agricultural products was found to have a significant influence upon the level of awareness about the certification system for good environment-friendly agricultural products. In conclusion, there is the need to make the dietitians who take charge of school meal have a higher level of perception about environment-friendly agricultural products, to improve the quality of school meal and the satisfaction of students remarkably and, by extension, to change school parents' perception about the use of environment-friendly agricultural products, which requires a further study to be carried out.

  • This study is a convergent study on the awareness and purchasing behavior of eco-friendly consumers who engage in consumer activities in Gwangju Metropolitan City. A survey was conducted on 151 persons engaged in consumption activities in Gwangju Metropolitan City to analyze frequency, technical statistical analysis, principal components analysis, and correlation analysis. The convergence of awareness, interest, and satisfaction can be used as a supply forecast for the eco-friendly consumer market, including the convergence of eco-friendly consumer awareness and purchasing behavior.

A Study on the Effect of Awareness of Organic Farming on Environment-Friendly Agriculture Product Consumption and Revitalization (유기농업에 대한 환경성·공익성 인식과 친환경 농산물 소비 및 활성화에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated the public's awareness and purchase behavior of organic farming and environment-friendly agriculture products. This study also analyzed whether awareness affects environment-friendly agriculture products' consumption and price resistance and support for the revitalizing organic farming. This study derived environmental and public interst in organic farming, and a web survey was conducted for statistical analysis. As a result, it was found that the awareness of organic farming did not affect the consumption of environment-friendly agriculture products, but in case of high awareness is high, the resistance to prices is low. In addition, it was found that the stronger the public's awareness, the more positive the support for the expansion of organic agriculture and the willingness to purchase environment-friendly agriculture products. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for preparing measures to revitalize organic agriculture in the future.

A survey of eco-foodservice perception and satisfaction of elementary school parents in Jeju (제주지역 초등학생 학부모의 친환경급식에 대한 인식도 및 만족도 조사)

  • Purpose: This study analyzed the eco-foodservice perception and satisfaction of 344 elementary school parents in Jeju surveyed from February 1~12, 2010, with the aim of providing basic data for quality improvement of eco-foodservice in Jeju. Methods: The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients, using the SPSS Win program (version 12.0). Results: Regarding awareness of eco-friendly food materials of subjects, average score was 3.52 points (out of 5 scales) and 'difference between eco-friendly and general agricultural products (3.76)' showed the highest score whereas 'assurance standard and label of eco-friendly agricultural products (3.31)' showed the lowest score. In terms of the recognition of eco-foodservice implementation, 75.0% of parents were aware of it. Regarding the eco-foodservice satisfaction of the subjects, average score was 3.88 points (out of 5 scales) and food safety (3.98 points) showed the highest score whereas food taste (3.70 points) showed the lowest score. The eco-foodservice perception of subjects showed positive correlation with their eco-foodservice satisfaction. Conclusion: It is necessary for the government and the local government to provide continuing education for school parents in order to enhance their perception of eco-friendly food materials. In addition, systematic and appropriate government support is needed in order to ensure internal stability of eco-foodservice.

A Study on the Problems and Promotion Plans of Eco-Friendly Ship Finance (친환경 선박 금융의 문제점 및 활성화 방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the problems and promotion plans of shipping finance for eco-friendly ships to respond to marine pollution reduction regulations. The overall level of awareness of the problems of eco-friendly ship financing was found to be average(4.0~4.53), as the demand for construction and introduction of eco-friendly ships is not yet high. However, the response to the item about shipping fiance companies' lack of awareness of the importance of eco-friendly ships was low at 3.35. In the plan to promote eco-friendly ship finance, The need for security token offering(STO) and converting financial settlement to Korean won were low. Issuance of green bonds, creation of sovereign wealth fund(SWF), utilization of pension and superannuation fund, accelerated depreciation after construction, interest subsidy of government, establishment of a shipping exchange(promoting the introduction of eco-friendly ships), and development of eco-friendly ship supply chain connections were evaluated slightly higher than average. However, it was found that there is a high need for supporting shipping subsidies, providing special benefits for financial institutions, strengthening credit guarantees, reviving tax benefits for ship investment funds, providing incentives for early retirement vessels, establishing cooperative networks, supporting research and development, and establishing standards for operation eco-friendly ships. However, in seven promotion plans, such as strengthening credit guarantees, the level of awareness of shipping companies was statistically significantly higher than that of shipping fiancé companies.

Perceptions on Environment and Environment-Friendly Agricultural Products of College Students in Seoul and Incheon Area (경인지역 대학생의 환경과 친환경농산물에 대한 인식)

  • This study was performed in order to investigate perceptions on environment and environment-friendly agricultural products, knowledge level and opinion about these products. The subjects were 387 college students in Seoul and Incheon area. This survey was conducted by self-administered questionnaire. The statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 12.0 program. Male subjects were 53.2% and female subjects were 46.8%. 52.9% of the subjects have knowledge about environment-friendly agricultural products. Also 50.9% of the subjects knew certification label of environment-friendly agricultural products whereas 13.4% knew certification authority of environment-friendly agricultural products. The average scores of 'image of environment-friendly agricultural products', 'attitude towards environment', 'attitude towards agrichemical' were $3.84{\pm}0.68,\;3.51{\pm}0.73\;and\;3.58{\pm}0.87$, respectively. In regard to 'image of environment- friendly agricultural products', the scores were significantly affected by gender (p<0.05), self-recognition of health status (p<0.05) and self-knowledge about environment-friendly agricultural products (p<0.001). In regard to 'attitude towards environment', the scores were significantly affected by self-recognition of health status (p<0.05), self-knowledge about environment-friendly agricultural products (p<0.001), and information about environment friendly agricultural products certificate authority (p<0.01). In regard to 'attitude towards agrichemical', the scores were significantly affected by gender (p<0.001), self-recognition of health status (p<0.05), supplements for health (p<0.05) and self-knowledge about environment-friendly agricultural products (p<0.001). Therefore, various education programs on environment-friendly agricultural products are necessary for college students to make right food choices.

  • As environment issues arise, environment-friendliness in convention industry has also been discussed. Guidelines are presented by government and convention organization to settle environment-friendly convention. However, these efforts focus on organizers and suppliers, lacking in understanding convention participants. This study tries to approach in perspective of convention participants to get useful information for environment-friendly convention. The research explores how they are aware of environment issues and accept environment-friendly convention attributes according to their cognition of environment. It also examines the relationship between those attributes and intention of participation according to their awareness of environment. The results shows that participants have high awareness about environmental issue and recognized high necessity for set up for specific action plan. They showed highest acceptance of venue followed by activity, transportation, food & beverage, and operation. High awareness group showed higher acceptance of environment-friendly convention attributes than low awareness group. 'Transportation', 'activity', and 'operation' among five attributes were examined to have significant effect on intention of participate environment-friendly convention in both groups.

The results underscore that consumer perceptions of green marketing have a significant impact on their purchase decisions, emphasizing the need for businesses to align their green marketing strategies with consumer expectations. This alignment is crucial for cultivating a mindset of sustainable consumption among consumers. Furthermore, the study highlights the psychological mechanisms linking green marketing perceptions to consumer actions, particularly through the mediating role of consumer empowerment. The findings provide actionable insights for companies to effectively communicate their green initiatives and enhance consumer engagement with sustainable products and practices.
