As a result of the survey, 415 cases were collected for the final analysis. In data analysis process, we used SPSS 21.0 for the mediation effect of conversational satisfaction and its significance, and the results are following. First, 21% of the caregivers responded that they had thoughts of suicide in the past year. Second, Symptom extent of dementia patients was positively related to caregiver burden. Third, worse in family relationships, which is sub factors of mediate variable, has partial mediate effect on the model. The purpose of this study is to provide a basic data for reducing care-giving stress of family members of the elderly with mild dementia by determining the relationship between the behavioral and psychological symptoms of the elderly with dementia and their family members' care-giving stress and self-efficacy. The descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA were used for analysis in order to investigate the relationship. The behavioral and psychological symptoms of the elderly with mild dementia and their family members' care-giving stress had a positive correlation (r=.655, p<.001), and as their family members' care-giving stress and the members' self-efficacy had a negative correlation (r=-.334, p<.001). Based on the result of this study, it is necessary to reduce the care-giving stress of family members of the elderly with mild dementia and improve the self-efficacy of family members by developing proper measures to cope with the behavioral and psychological symptoms of the elderly with mild dementia.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects on nursing students' knowledge, attitude towards dementia and about awareness of elderly care. The study participants were 288 nursing students from K' university on May 7 to 14, 2019.The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS 20,0 program. The results revealed that students acquired knowledge of dementia by grade and religion as per general characteristics. The knowledge, attitude towards dementia and awareness of elderly care showed statistically significant differences in experience of care and education about dementia. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the awareness of elderly care with knowledge (r = .105, p = 038) and attitude towards dementia (r = .556, p = 000). The students' attitude was explained about 31.3% in awareness of elderly care. As a findings, there is need to develop and apply a structured education program on dementia based on individual and group characteristics of nursing students. Also, it is recommended to provide continuous education and feedback.

As a result of the study, there were statistically significant differences in dementia awareness according to general characteristics in gender, dementia related practice and education experience, and elderly related educational experience, empathy in elderly related practice experience, and the awareness of caregiving for the elderly in dementia interest (Yes). The awareness of caregiving for the elderly showed a positive correlation with empathy (r=.380, p<.01), and the factor effecting the awareness of caregiving for the elderly was dementia interest (yes) (𝛽=.283, p<.001) and empathy (𝛽=.354, p<.001), the explanatory power was 21.8%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and provide a nursing curriculum or program that can improve empathy ability in order to cultivate nursing students' the awareness of caregiving for the elderly.
WIn Korea, the rapid rise of elderly population and dementia prevalence resulting from the unprecedently rapid aging in the world is being emerged as a serious social issue. Caring the elderly with dementia is a different way from a general life and is a world which new cultural existential relationships are interlaced from the relationship viewpoint. From this aspect, the psychological matter of family caring a demented elderly needs to be studied for existential understanding in depth and fundamentally. This study focused on in-depth understanding and description of the stress phenomena experienced by family caregivers with a demented elderly based on Giorgi's method among phenomenological research methods and using existential group counseling techniques. Total 8 sessions of existential group counseling were conducted. This study drew out the outcomes(emotional stress, psychosocial stress, time-dependent stress) of participants' self-awareness experiences by applying 4 steps of Giorgi's phenomenological research methodology based on the Existential Philosophy to participant's intensive statements about stress of family caring a demented elderly drawn out of the existential group counselling sessions. It is hoped that understanding the pain of the supporters who cannot express their own pains through the research results and their self-help group counseling activities will become active, contributing to the health of our society which is about to enter post-aged society.

This study is to verify the mediated effects of attitudes toward old people and dementia in the influence of elderly couples in the aging society amid the rapidly changing family structure and functions due to the combination of individualization, marital status and divorce rate. In order to carry out such research purposes, data were collected from students of elementary, middle and high schools in Gwangju, through self-subscribed questionnaire. For statistical analysis, the SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs were used and frequency, percentages, technical statistics, correlation, factor analysis, structural model validation, and the Sobel-Test were performed. The results of this study are as follows. First, family intimacy, elderly awareness, and elderly care were the highest among elementary school students, followed by middle school and high school students (P.<.001). Also, in religion, the family intimacy of teenagers with religion was higher than those without religion (p.001). Second, family intimacy directly affected elderly people's attitudes toward dementia and elderly care, old people's attitudes toward dementia and attitudes toward dementia directly affected elderly care. Third, family intimacy (parent-child) was found to be 7.8% for older adults, 20.2% for family intimacy and attitudes toward dementia, and 34.1% for elderly care (p.<.001). Fourth, it has been verified that the absolute value of attitudes toward dementia and elderly people's awareness of elderly people and attitudes between family intimacy and elderly care has been higher than 1.96 and thus acts as a mediating role. These findings are intended to contribute to the welfare of senior citizens' education to improve the quality of life for senior citizens through the resolution of conflicts between generations, as well as the resolution of positive stimulus, by developing various programs such as family friendship, elderly awareness, culture with parents, and various experiences to improve attitudes toward dementia in early adolescence.
Prior studies about nursing home placement identified factors contributing to the risk of institutionalization by pooling adult child caregivers and spousal caregivers together, regardless of differential challenges for the two types of caregivers. In a sample of 456 caregivers followed for a 2 year period, an event history analysis showed that relationship made difference in time to placement and that differential factors led to institutionalization for spousal caregivers and daughter caregivers. Spousal caregivers are more likely to place dementia patients into nursing homes sooner than adult child caregivers. The age of care recipients and role captivity (refers to being unwilling, involuntary incumbent of a caregiver role) are predictors of placement for both groups of caregivers. Dementia patients who were older had a greater risk of institutionalization. Greater feelings of role captivity also shortened the time to placement. Income and education are significant predictors only for caregiving daughters. Daughters who had a high education level are more likely to delay nursing home placement whereas those who had a higher income are more likely to institutionalize their demented parents sooner. Use of day care and behavioral problems are significant predictors only for spousal caregivers. Specifically, use of day care and behavioral problems precipitates nursing home placement. The findings of this study suggest that interventions for helping family members to provide care to the demented elderly at home must consider different circumstances faced by caregiving spouses and caregiving daughters.
