Methods : Total of 320 females and males aging from 10 to 40 years old with dental treatments done from May to July 2010 have participated with self-entry survey method utilizing the Dental Fear Survey questionnaire. The data received was analyzed using the descriptive statistic, t-test, ANOVA and multiple correlation analysis with level of significance as p<0.05. Results : The dental fear factor were significantly high in woman by $2.79{\pm}0.92$ and in 40's age group by $2.82{\pm}0.84$ (p<0.05). Participants with frequent tooth ache, experiencing pain while treating the tooth ache and breaking the dental treatment appointment showed higher fear factor. Thoughts of having poor dental health condition caused bad influence on fear factor. Overall, the factors affecting the fear of the dental treatments were gender, an ache while treating, number of missed appointment, and distrust of the dentist, stimulation factor were the factors affecting the treatment. Conclusions : The fear factors in the dental treatment were higher with gender, related characteristics of the oral health and distrust of the dentist. Therefore accurately recognizing the sensitive patient with dental treatment, proper management of the toothache, effort to increase the creditability of the doctors and separately treating patient customized for each individual patient will reduce the fear of the dental treatment.

This survey was conducted from May 1, 2007 to May 31, 2007. A total of 281 surveys eligible among all the collected surveys were used in the analysis. Collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 12.0. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Based on the reliability analysis, we concluded that the questionnaire of dental fear was reliable, and the Cronbach' s alpha coefficients of the all subscales were more than 0.6. 2. Among the dental fear of 3 factors, treatment fear cause stimulation factor was higher than the others. Most of all, following two situations(when preparation was made and when people hear dental instrument operating sound) are the highest in the treatment fear. And women are higher than men in every item. 3. In the Dental treatment need degree caused by dental fear degree, high fear group was $4.76{\pm}1.954(M{\pm}SD)$ which was higher than that of low fear group.(low fear group was $4.07{\pm}2.184(M{\pm}SD)$. In conclusion, dental fear and dental treatment need degree are related each other.
This study is to seek a method to alleviate fear of dental treatment among college students. Research objects are students in public health department and those in other departments on. After the education, fear of dental treatment was reduced more among students in the public Health Department than among those in other departments. After education on dental treatment, there were greater changes in oral health among students in non-public health departments than those in the Public Health Department. The purpose of this study was to examine the oral health care and self-rated health status of adults visiting dental clinics in the region of Busan and influential factors for their dental fear from January to May, 2017, in an effort to obtain some information on how to relieve fear. As for dental fear, adults who were in their 30s, who were homemakers and whose monthly income ranged from 4 to 4.99 million won. In regard to fear according to oral health care, dental fear caused by the treatment avoidance factor was stronger among the adults who didn't receive dental checkups and who brushed their teeth in the wrong way. Dental fear that was attributed to the physiological reaction factor and the stimuli-inducing factor was severer among the adults who didn't receive dental checkups and who had no scaling experience. Overall fear was severer among the adults who didn't receive dental checkups and who changed their toothbrushes every four or more months. The factors that affected dental fear were self-rated health status, self-rated oral health status, gender, age, whether to receive dental checkups on a regular basis or not, and oral health education experience. The dentists often encouter a child who can not be treated with traditional behavior management technique. Mentally or physically handicapped child could receive proper dental care under general anesthesia. General anesthesia for dental care can be done in an outpatient surgery or inpatient surgery depending on the patient. In outpatient surgery, the patient is admitted and discharged the same day. Postoperative care and discharge procedure are abbreviated. Advantages of outpatient surgery are much less emotional disturbance of patients, reduced risk of nosocomial infection and less cost of treatment. A case of a physically handicapped patient treated under general anesthesia at Day Surgery Center is presented and the procedure and patient selection of outpatient surgery as well as its limitation is reviewed in this paper.

In this paper, we proposed of the results of the noise level and appropriate conversation distance by applying the noise characteristics generated during treatment at a dental clinic to the NR-curve and PSIL. As a result of analyzing the noise characteristics during treatment at a dental clinic, it was analyzed that the noise level exceeded 60dB(A), which is the health preservation limit value caused by noise, and the noise level increased as the frequency increased. the result of evaluation applying it to the NR curve, some treatment exceeded the workplace noise standard, and as a result of analyzing the level of conversational disturbance between the worker and the patient, it is desirable to have the conversation at a distance of less than 1M for accurate communication. In order to improve the quality of medical service in dental clinic and to reduce dental fear, it is judged that soundproofing protective equipment is provided to workers, and soundproofing measures are needed for noise sources (treatment devices used in treatment) and sound sources (patients and workers).

Patient management is considered an important factor in dental field. The aim of this review is to analyze the efficacy of hypnosis to treat fear, anxiety, pain, stress of dental patients, and see how it can be adopted in dentistry for improving patient satisfaction. Medline research was carried out to find the use of hypnosis in dentistry and other aspects of hypnosis in medical area. It can help patient more comfortable, relax, and accordingly reduce patient's negative feelings such as fear, anxiety, pain, stress during dental treatment. Also, it affects patient recovery after surgery by accelerating healing speed and reinforce immune system. When hypnosis is used with other anesthetic method, it can reduce the use of main medication, leading to reduce possibility of side effect. Therefore, using Hypnosis can give patients more comfortable dental experience, both mentally and physically, ultimately making patients more satisfied with the dental treatment.
