Current treatment for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS) consists of three phases: observation, bracing, and surgery. Although there are many nonsurgical treatment(bracing, electrical stimulation, exercise, manipulation, acupuncture, etc), their effect is still controversial. In many paper, Schroth method was reported good immediate response to conservative care, which could be considered a sign of good prognosis. Schroth method became effective thai specialists in physiotherapy for spinal deformities teach the patient how to perform a routine of 'curve pattern' specific exercises with the purpose to facilitate the correction of the asymmetric posture and to teach the patient to maintain the corrected posture in dally activities. This Principles of correction exercise treatment are based on those developed by the German physiotherepist K. Schroth.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the concept of familial scoliosis through eight cases. Methods : The family tree was constructed with eight cases which was diagnosed idiopathic scoliosis by physical examination and radiological study. Results : According to the family tree of this sibs, idiopathic scoliosis apparently behaves as an autosomal dominant inheritance. As to parents and grandparents, although they are not confirmed the appearance of idiopathic scoliosis, we know that they transmit trait to their descendants as a genotype. Conclusions : This study is shown that idiopathic scoliosis has a familial condition and provided useful information that can be used early diagnosis and treatment with screen tests based on the family tree.

In this study, it measures electromyogram to estimate scoliosis by using sensors in both sides of spinal erector muscle. A device is measured raw data to input mcu through a filter and amplifier. MCU is named "arduino" that is calculated muscle activity with algorithm by inputting data. By comparing with both sides of spinal erector muscle's activity, it studies about estimation of scoliosis
The purpose of this study was to investigate quantitative data on the difference in breast entrance surface dose with changes in focus-film distance, patient posture (anteroposterior-posteroanterior), thoracic wall thickness, rib bone thickness, lung tissue thickness, tube voltage, and high-voltage rectification method in Whole Spine Scanography, which is necessary for the treatment of scoliosis patients. Given a tube voltage of 90 kVp, kerma of 0.1 mGy, focus-film distance of 260 cm, tube voltage ripple rate of 0, filter thickness of 3.5 mm, and thickness of patient's thoracic wall of 120 mm as an X-ray exposure condition, from the simulation results using the Simulation of X-ray Spectra program to confirm the reduction effect of breast entrance surface dose according to the patient's posture (AP and PA), there was a dose reduction effect in aluminum filter thickness of 2.6 times at 3.5 mm, 25.7 times the thoracic wall thickness at 120 mm, 1.43 times higher tube voltage, and 0 to 1.14 times the tube voltage ripple rate. The total dose reduction effect was about 109 times. In order to confirm the dose reduction effect of RANDO phantom posture (AP and PA), from the results of the measurements taken under the conditions that the focus-film distance was 260 cm, the tube voltage was 90 kVp, the tube current was 270 mA, the exposure time was 0.31 sec, and the tube voltage ripple rate of X-ray generators was 0, the entrance surface dose reduction effect of the breast in the PA position was found to be 20.56 times lower than that of the AP position.

This study investigated the prevalence of scoliosis among undergraduate students who were in early adulthood, and to examine its relationship with body mass index (BMI), which has been associated with scoliosis in previous studies. A descriptive survey of 158 students of universities based in Seoul, Daejeon, Daegu, and Gyeonggi Province was conducted. A structured questionnaire comprising items pertaining to general features, postural features, and BMI was used, and the angle of the trunk rotation (ATR) was measured directly with a scoliometer to assess the spinal angle. Participants with an ATR of greater than $6^{\circ}$ were classified into the scoliosis group. Data were collected for three weeks from November 7, 2014. Scoliosis and BMI were analyzed for their frequencies and percentages, and their relationships were analyzed using the ${\chi}^2$-test and Logistic regression. Overall, 114 (72.2%) participants had an ATR of smaller than $5^{\circ}$, while 44 (27.8%) had an ATR of greater than $6^{\circ}$. After excluding the confounding variables, the overweight group was 2.63 times more likely than the normal BMI group to have an ATR of greater than $6^{\circ}$ which was statistically significant. However, the underweight group was 0.24 times less likely than the normal BMI group to have an ATR of greater than $6^{\circ}$, but this difference was not statistically significant. Although early examination and management of scoliosis in South Korea is generally performed on children and adolescents, the high prevalence of scoliosis among university students found in this study calls for aggressive early examination and management for this age group as well.
Background: This study was conducted to analyze the height and width of the pedicle of the upper and lower levels on the concave and the convex sides. In addition, we checked for the appropriate pedicle screw size which could be screwed in without complications. Materials and Methods: Taking a simple AP radiography in a standing position, 99 vertebrae on the major curve with the possibility of 3-D reconstruction were analyzed after checking the CT in a supine position of 22 idiopathic scoliosis. We measured Cobb's angle from a simple radiograph, and measured the size of the isthmus by the Inner Space 3-D Editor after 3-D reconstruction with the Inner Space 3-D program in the DICOM file transformed from CT image. We then analyzed the size of pedicles of the upper and lower levels on the concave and the convex sides by measuring the height and width of the pedicle. Results: All pedicles on the concave side were smaller than those on the convex side. Their size increased as the measurement moved from the upper to lower vertebra, except for the upper thoracic vertebra. When the width of the pedicle through 3-D reconstruction was compared with the narrowest width of the pedicle measured by using CT, the width of the pedicles through 3-D reconstruction was statistically smaller (P<0.01). Most of the pedicles were tear-drop or kidney shaped rather than cylindrical. Conclusion: These results suggest that the use of the coronal plane through 3-D reconstruction would be necessary for an accurate measurement of the size of the pedicle. It is important to pay careful attention to the screw size and the screwing method considering the pedicle shape through 3-D reconstruction.

The virtual patient dataset is a collection of diagnostic data from various sources acquired from a single patient into a coordinate system of three-dimensional visualization. Virtual patient dataset makes it possible to establish a treatment plan, simulate various treatment procedures, and create a treatment planning delivery device. Clinicians can design and simulate a patient's smile on the virtual patient dataset and select the optimal result from the diagnostic process. The selected treatment plan can be delivered identically to the patient using manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing, milling, and injection molding. The delivery of this treatment plan can be linked to the final prosthesis through mockup confirmation through provisional restoration fabrication and delivery in the patient's mouth. In this way, if the diagnostic data superimposition and processing accuracy during the manufacturing process are guaranteed, 3D digital smile design simulated in 3D visualization can be accurately delivered to the real patient. As a clinical application method of the virtual patient dataset, we suggest a decision-making method that can exclude occlusal adjustment treatment from the treatment plan through the digital occlusal pressure analysis. A comparative analysis of whole-body scans before and after temporomandibular joint treatment was suggested for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients with temporomandibular joint disease. Occlusal plane and smile aesthetic analysis based on the virtual patient dataset was presented when treating patients with complete dentures.

Objectives : This dissertation is to study the relationship between Scoliosis and Sasang Constitution. Methods : The researcher discriminated the Sasang constitutions of those observed - the out-patients - who were treated from January to June 2004, and showed, through whole spine X-ray, over 10 degrees in Cobb's angle. The result coming out from this study was compared firstly with the existing Sasang constitution theory from 《Dongyi Suse Bowon》 《東醫壽世保元》 and secondly with the existing of QSCCII statistics. The statistics were taken as Goodness-of-fit test, T-test, and ANOVA test. Results : 1. Of those 29 observed, 4(13.79%) were categorized in Taeum-in, 14(48.28%) in Soyang-in, and 11(37.93%)in Soum-in. 2. The result showed a significant difference with the Sasang constitution from Dong-isusebowon. 3. The result showed a difference with the existing from QSCCII. 4. There of no significant relations between each constitutions and Scoliosis. 5. There no significant relations between distinction and Scoliosis. Conclusions : In this study, rate of Soyang-in, among patients diagnosed scoliosis, was the higher.
